How do you find the staff to set up things? Would the coordinator find and provide the staff/assistants? Our venue says they won't help with it, if a coordinator also doesn't and I'm not relying on family and friends, where the heck do I get a staff?? Would you suggest a day of coordinator for a 40 guest count wedding? We are both males so we don't have to deal with a lot of details that females have too like make up, and dresses. We are not having a bridal party either, and the only thing I need help with is just communication with the DJ, Cater, and photographer.

Thank you! I have no experience with coordinating a wedding. Especially, my best friend's, in December 🤦🏾‍♀️ There's a part of me, that's afraid that I would ruin her wedding because I don't have a vision. Example: looking for chair covers, florist, makeup artist, etc. Help me please!

Check with the Better Business Bureau for recommendations or your local Chamber of Commerce. If you hire people that have been in the business a long time. Hotel sales offices staff see a lot of vendors and can should be able to recommend so good one. Read all contracts before signing them and make sure you question them. Write everything down.

so when it comes to things that can go wrong like what you said about the center piece missing and you need to address it asap, does that mean the bride and groom get charged extra to get together a new center piece? do the bride and groom get charged extra for anything that might come up last minute?

Hire servers from any bartender/server company they charge by the hour and can come just for clean up in the last 2-3 hours of your event, reduces family needing to clean up, saves your time and effort and will put you st ease for not worrying about things being left behind or not cleaned on your special night !

Aww he is so cute! Lol. Can you tell me on average how much a wedding coordinator in your area charges per event and if you are supposed to have the bride sign a contract? Also, is a coordinator just for the wedding or also for a bridal shower?

Having a designer planner coordinator and a day of coordinator and a venue coordinator is such a stress saver. Those 3 people Liter know more about your wedding day than you the bride. If you can get all 3 do it. If you find one person or company that will do all 3 roles BOOK THEMMMM

I want to make everyone follow a dress code and I don’t know a polite way to tell people. My aunt wore a men’s white undershirt over a black bra to a wedding and my cousin wore a purple hoodie, gym shirts, black flip-flops, and hairy toes to her brother’s wedding. I feel like I need a bouncer to reenforce this.

My wedding Kreuter absolutely sucked. We paid her before hand and she shut up late and forgot the glass press the break after the ceremony so many things what do I do now? I can’t get a second wedding. She should refund me my money?

Help! What do I do if I forgot to add my vendors to the food list and it’s a small venue with max amount of people (vendors would be additional to the max I have) ???

Can someone tell me where I can find day-of coordinator INTERNS? It's the closest thing I can afford to having one! (i live in Southern California)

So I'm slightly confused now. Would a wedding coordinator and designer do more of the set up? At least as far as overseeing that it gets done right?

The wedding coordinator doesn't set up, unless she/he wants to or is needed to because of time not being met or because help is needed. The vendors do their part either with the flowers/decorations. The caters with the food and so on. The job of the coordinator is to make sure everything is being done as it is supposed to and when it's supposed to. Because people can get distracted/slow, lose track of time, or make mistakes as to how the couple wants stuff to be done and the coordinator keeps on checking everything to make sure time is met and things are how they are supposed to be. Like for example, everything so far in the wedding is great. But at some point in the reception the tables seem to be getting full of empty glasses. The coordinator would go to the caterers to see why the glasses are not being picked up off the tables. So that brings awareness to the caterers and makes the reception go smoothly instead of just waiting for the caterers to come and do it at some point. The coordinator sees a problem rising, she/he fixes it before it becomes a problem the couple can notice.

@@m__a_ Can I ask, if A bride was doing a backyard wedding and wanted a coordinator to help with decorating the yard, would the coordinator be expected to decorate all alone ? or would the coordinator be able to ask the bride for help from either her friends or family? This being if the coordinator worked alone and did not have any employees to help.

@@ctk888909 that depends on what the bride and coordinator talked before hired. That is something that needs to be clear before accepting the job. If the bride wants the coordinator to decorate, then the bride needs to clarify that to the coordinator that family/friends will or won't help because that affects the money the coordinator will charge for her/his work. Usually the florist or family/friends of the couple do the decorations, not the coordinator since technically, that is not part of coordinating the wedding, meaning if the coordinator was hired before the wedding was planned he/she would have someone doing that either the florist or the staff from where the decoration is from. If it is a day of coordinator, meaning someone that is there just the day of the wedding but had nothing to do with the planning. The coordinator just make sure things are placed where the bride wants it to be. Although if the coordinator is not doing anything at the moment if she/he cares they would be happy to help with that too. However, usually the coordinator would be on top of the things that needs to be in place before the wedding starts and doing that can be at the same time decorations are happening which is why someone else is in charge of that. Now, what I just said is more for coordinators that work in a venue since they are in charge of the venue and have to make sure everything with the venue is all set. A backyard wedding sometimes can be more work since the coordinator is not familiar with the place. Therefore, it needs to be clear for the bride and coordinator before hand. 😁

There's not degree that needs to be done for that. That is done through experience. However, having a degree in business for example helps you a lot in managing your own business if you want to work for yourself or if you are a event planner or wedding planner it helps you to make better choices to pick vendors to work with.

Does the coordinator assigns the ceremony rehearsal position?

Depends. If the coordinator is just a day of coordinator. That should be done before and usually the couple would do that the rehearsal day. If the wedding coordinator is in the rehearsal day, she/he can advise on that. Although usually the bride says where she wants people to be or the person marrying the couple would.

But what about those extra costs? You charge the client right?

If you don't need the coordinator doing something else in the moment when the decoration is happening then yes. But for example, I had a bride that I had to be with her when she was getting ready, while the decoration of the ceremony was happening. I couldn't be there. Plus the ceremony and reception where in two different places so. After I was in the ceremony, then the reception needed to be decorated. So I was in the ceremony so I couldn't do the reception decoration either. Although, what I did do was to make sure that the decorations where good before the ceremony started, and the reception started. I just had to fix some things but not place the whole thing myself.
