Fun fact: if you own Saints Row IV and the Shadow Warrior remake you can use the Penetrator instead of your regular sword in Shadow Warrior, and reloading while holding it (which normally cleans blood off the sword), err, stimulates it somewhat and it launches mini-fireworks.

They get away with calling them “MIRVs” instead of “MITRVs” because they hyphenate “independently-targeted.” They actually exist IRL, they’re missile warheads equipped with multiple smaller warheads that can be individually programmed to hit multiple targets within a limited area. It also inspired the RYNO and its variations from the Ratchet and Clank games.

It wouldn't be a Peter Austin list without some detailed reference to an obscure fact that NO ONE ELSE KNOWS. Meanwhile, Ben freely touts that he uses Wikipedia for all his lists.

Even Cloud's arm size emphasises the metaphor; they're small, hence the giant sword being a more natural extremity of his.

I remember a game called Armed and Dangerous which featured a wide variety of freaky weapons - one was the gravity gun which flipped the screen 180 degrees throwing everything into the air, and another was the Shark gun which fired a sodding great Shark at your enemy!

Also, think of Wakka using a Blitzball as his weapon when people are using swords and spears and knives and stuff.

I would have liked one of the weapons from unreal tournament to make it in here. The ripper, the flac cannon, the redeemer. All mental weapons.

Whole game was mental. Surely one the easiest games to kill yourself by shooting your own weapon... but hellaway fun. Miss those extremely fast paced fps multiplayer!

I was hoping you'd include Loadout as another wildcard entry. That game let you choose every part for your gun resulting in millions, if not billions of options. You could do something similar to the Fallout weapon in the video. But you could make it shoot 6 rockets at once, that all split to six smaller rockets when they're near an enemy. You could even make those rockets electric and remote controlled. And make them fly in a synced spiral. I miss that game.

I feel like it's not on the list because it's not a game, but *literally every weapon in RWBY* - A a scythe sniper, shotgun gauntlets, a gun that is also two swords held together by ribbons, gunchucks, literally a camera... it's madness

The Ion Cannon from Command & Conquer should be on this list.

If this was Ben's video, I would've expected a "boomerang jokes, we GOT them" at the beginning there.

The Dubstep gun better be in here. My fav gun of all time.
