I'm 74 and had been healthy until late last year. I began suffering from severe edema and inflammation in both feet and ankles. The Swelling was extreme and the inflammation on the tops of feet and up the ankles was to the point that the skin was flaking off to the point of frequent bleeding. Early one morning the pain was so severe that I went to Urgent Care (I had not been to a doctor for over 12 years.). There were 5 different doctors that stopped in to look me over. I told each of them that I had a long history of gout BUT these symptoms were not consistent with gout. Each of them agreed that my symptoms were not an indication of gout. They made some blood draws but did not check Uric Acid level and or gout crystals from the joints. Finally in the afternoon they said I was to be released. They determined that I had gout - even though they had not tested the blood for the 2 items that may indicate gout. When I got home, I went back on the low carb/high fat diet that had been my norn until several months earlier when I was recovering from Covid. During my Covid recovery I had begun eating excessive amounts of carbs and sweets because they made me feel better I thought. Now, back on the low carbs, it took several months for my edema and inflammation to leave me completely but it finally did. I am now back to normal with only a few age related aches and pains. I have lost 28 lbs that I had gained. I walk and bicycle every day and very seldom eat anything sweet. For me, life just seems to be better without doctors. One more thing: NO GOUT ATTACKS...

Way cool on your story. I'm surprised you returned to carbs even with the advent of Covid which was a big reason to "soothe ourselves" with carbs. My mental health has been so much better since the day I went low carb that it is terrifying to even think of eating high-carb veggies no less grains and pasta. No ice cream in 5 years. But there is Equal Exchange 92% cacao dark chocolate that I'm okay with.

@@kathym6603 I was unvaxxed. Covid hit me hard and did not want to release me back to a normal life. It took a couple of months before I returned to some semblance of normal. By that time I was again addicted to sweets and carbs as I thought they were helping me feel better. Now I am back to a lowcarb/highfat diet and will stay this course. Feeling good without carbs is my norm again.

If you haven’t already seen it, I highly recommend a 1991 move called The Doctor starring William Hurt. In the movie Hurt develops a life threating tumor and becomes a patient seeing the medical industry from a patient’s perspective. I believe the movie is based on Dr. Edward Rosenbaum's 1988 memoir A Taste Of My Own Medicine. Thank you and I look forward to your next video. Have a great day!

Problem is physicians and dentists do not get adequate nutrition training. It is insulting to get questioned about flossing and tooth brushing techniques when the real problem with dental caries is poor diet (SAD for example) and not how I brush my teeth. And when my physician recommends I eat a sweet potato because I am going through Keto flu it doesn’t inspire confidence in his ability to successfully treat type 2 diabetes.

Could be you are stressing yourself out. As for losing weight.....if you are already at a low weight....maybe the body simply can't lose more weight. As for exercise and diet, years ago a woman I greatly admired came into our store. She ran 3 miles and also walked 5 miles per day. Yet....one cold Feb? day I met her outside on her daily runs, and she said "I'm so cold." Her diet for breakfast: 1 banana. If you are pushing your heart so much, consider your diet. You've got to feed your heart. I later learned she died in her 70s. Yet someone else I knew came into the store.......mid 90s......said her only exercise was walking from the lazyboy to the fridge to get something. Mid 90s! Lived in an age when she got lots of exercise when she was young?

We the patients need to just say “no” to so many X-rays and scans and say “no” to the drugs. I do and the doctors don’t like that. I wish Health Insurance companies would cover Naturopathic and Wholistic treatments. Unfortunately, the medical system is owned by big Pharma.

I had to switch to doing my own research through the National Library of Medicine as I could not locate a doctor who was not a straight-faced liar. And that includes PCP, Allergy, GI, ENT, Eye, etc. It's going on 10 years since I've been to a doctor. The deepest research a doctor would do for any of my problems was to reach for the Physicians Desk Reference; which would ballpark a drug that seemed closest to 'treating' my symptoms.

When I see my Doctor he always asks me what is wrong and do I have a diagnosis (he also did this regarding my late mother) lol. Actually the Vets have always done the same with me regarding my dogs! lol Other people seem to experience great difficulty seeing/contacting a Dr, yet if I telephone for advice I have no problem and a Dr returns my call quite promptly (admittedly I will only telephone for advice if it’s urgent and I need medical attention). Keep up the great work. Your videos are super! 🤗

You nailed it. My daughters and granddaughter are all in medical care . So I hear all the things they have to say about their patients. I'm very aware of how human doctors are. For me it's the shitty system. However I Still expect to get good care from the system which means I'm an idiot! We all know that there are some frequent flyers that seem to live at the doctors office and the ER. They just hang out there. It's ridiculous. Doing the best they can the doctors and other medical professionals could do better yes but I wish you could see what I see and hear daily . I'm well aware that we are all just trying to live however because we are daily fed all kinds of bullshit it's very difficult for both patient and doctor. My very old and I have known four exemplary doctors in my life time. But years ago tgey didn't have the amount of crap served to them by insurance, pharmaceutical companies etc etc etc. The entropy we now experience everywhere effects everything All the time.. life in the fast lane..I don't mind a ten minute doctor visit but if the guy is a specialist I expect it to be a bit more special .. but I'm ranting now .. why..

As the saying goes this job would be great if it wasn't for the customers (patients) Having worked in consumer electronics all my life i can relate to why some doctors just don't appear to take any notice of what the patient is saying. Dealing with difficult people is an art, and one that very few are good at, and that was the hardest part of my job. We are not taught people skills but we should be. It's good to talk, but some customers / patients are also an A...hole !

Get rid of sugar and seed oils in your diet, take vitamin D/K2 as a start at least in winter, that will already be a huge improvement, at nearly no cost.

Well said! True in most cases though I am lucky to have a great caring doctor who sacrifices her personal time to listen to patients and get to the bottom of the problem. But not so in most cases! So lucky I live in Canada where our health care is also free! However, you are right - doctors have no time to educate the patient on basic diet & nutrition and most people are clue-less and over stuff themselves with easy junk foods & excess carbs & bad fats! My poor neighbour just died after just 5 years of being diagnosed with diabetes which resulted in complications of damaged kidneys & fatty liver! she was put in several meds - but the reality is that doctors can only prescribe meds & order tests! It's impossible for doctors to educate patients on healthy eating & exercise. We need health care advisors in our System to assist doctors & patients!
