10 reasons you SHOULDN’T hire A Car Broker ... including myself!

10 reasons you SHOULDN’T hire me or ANY Car Broker
Visit SaveOnMyAuto.com to receive pricing from multiple dealers in your area: bit.ly/2XkXs1Q
------------------------------
1. There is nothing that I can do that you can’t.
2. I. Am. BUSY. Like very very busy. Sometimes I have to leverage existing strong relationships to get your deal done efficiently.
3. I can’t make your problems go away or your wildest dreams come true.
4. I can cost you $400-$600. Am I well worth the cost? Yes.
5. I don’t have access to information that you can’t get.
6. If your credit is bad, me being apart of the deal won’t raise your scores. I don’t have a magic credit wand.
7. I am not a guarantee that you’re bulletproof.
8. This may not necessarily apply to me, but it will to a TON of other brokers. Your broker is likely to be double dipping. As in, taking money from you, AND the dealer. I don’t personally do this, however a lot do. The brokers that operate for free definitely charge their fee in the deal, so you’ve got to ask what the broker fee is that’s being tucked in.
9. I will rarely ever see the car in person.
10. I am not an expert on statistics on specific vehicles, nor am I a mechanic.

Probably true. There's actually a scientific study about people who use their 'hands to talk' and severely limiting their movement either by tying them to their side or aversive conditioning to prevent them from moving them and they stutter and generally can't nearly as effectively communicate as they normally would.

I love the work of brokers, a $300 fee saves so much time and got us the QX60 wanted for the payment we wanted.... we had 3 weeks to get a new suv, and we shopped around for an MDX and found one for $400 with 750 das but we never test drove the car. We went to the dealer to get the car and we didn’t like the car at all.. we were down to a week so I suggested a broker, needless to say, we drove home in a QX60 and we love it!

As others have said, it's your honesty that is so refreshing and for me the reason why you are successful in your business. The biggest takeaway I got from this video is that even if someone uses you or another broker you still must perform your own due diligence as the buyer and be aware of dealer add on's when it comes to signing a purchase contract.

Thanks for always educating your audience. A very good credit score, your own finance and patience should get you the deal you seek. Just stick to your guns and don't cave in. The art of walking away (when they know you have a great credit score) is power!

This is great! I contacted another KZreadr car “broker” who says he would help anyone find the best deal on a car, used or new. Sweet, I said. I texted him and asked for the price he charges for this service. He said, $995 for 2 weeks of him sending me various deals in the spam of those two weeks. After 2 weeks are over, his job is done. I never texted him back😒

Ari, great video. Please do one on leftover 2019 bmw 5 series as 2020's are being ordered. I am in NJ and dealers won't budge on discount off msrp, even tried other areas in tri-state. What kind of discount should I look for. Also, another suggestions would be to do a video on leasing demo or loaner vehicles with under 5,000 miles. How much does the residual drop how much off msrp should one target. Thank you.

Brokers that add their profit to the deal will bring the car to you and make sure the car doesn't have any scratches and they'll be your salesman to tell you how much HP or legroom & etc.. a car have... Nobody works for free... and they'll usually charge between $800 to $2k

  • @negotiationguides

Moshe Yehuda I know plenty of brokers that don’t do any of that just because they bring the car to you, and they don’t charge $800-$1000. If YOU do that, that’s fantastic!

Ari, Good stuff & thanks for the honesty. Question: Do auto brokers Always aim for the absolute lowest/best price the dealer can release the car for? If so, your fee is worth every penny because its a piece of mind to your client. After buying a vehicle everyone always wonders if someone got a better deal than them. You can do a deal with a 5 minute phone call where a regular customer going to the dealership can spend hours, then days going back and forth plus 100 phone calls and always wondering if they got robbed.

I've used a broker before and she's local but she handles everything for me. She picks it up, brings it to my home and takes my leased car back to the dealer. I never set foot in the dealership or speak to anyone at the dealership. You are right though, I have done my own deals and gotten a better price on my own. My last deal I did on my own and saved myself about 60 bucks a month over her price. The deal before that though, she saved me close to 100 bucks a month on the vehicle. It all depends on the deals they are offering that month and what vehicle you are getting.

Like your video. After watching it, I *still* use a broke. I have a 760+, am somewhat smart (physics training), do a lot of research in my own profession (engineering), and am capable of doing internet research, compile numbers, look for discounts, make some calls, visit some places, argue with some people, and save on the $700 broker fee. But, I don't care about the $700 fee. I hire a capable broker because I don't want to car shop. I am extremely busy, I value world-class customer service, I hate interacting with car salespeople at traditional dealerships, and I don't have the inclination to deal with mobile-app based dealers like Roadster, Vroom, Carvana. My broker is an expert. She handles everything for me. I just look over the number and then pick up the keys. My fiancé, who went with my broker and is also too busy in her work, will never go back to the old way.

I've got one guy charging me $250 up front and another who wants a flat $1000. For a $31,554 MSRP car, don't know if he could save me enough off deal to justify paying independent man coming in. By the way guy, dealers pay TrueCar.com for leads and participate in quoted 'best prices". I got a car $800 below Truecar price and then found out dealer paid True Car back $400. I asked them to honor mine nad give me 1/2 the TrueCar fee since they were honoring my negotiations.

Is it worth hiring a broker (you) on a new model which may be in short supply? The 2021 RAV4 Prime goes on sale in June 2020. I'd like one but don't have the patience to contact many dealers (it's possible only the top dealers will get allocations). It's worth it to me to hire a broker but don't know if a broker will help this situation. Thanks.

I buy a car about once every 5 years. I just want someone who knows the business and who does this dirty shit a lot to get the price down by a multiple of what he himself is charging me, which I figure to be around $600-$700 around here. On a $35K used car, that might amount to a price drop of a couple grand. How hard can that be? I would make him an offer like this: "I'll pay you 30% of however much you can get the price down by." It shouldn't take the "miracles" this dude is warning us about. It isn't that I can't do it myself, it's that I am throwing money at not having to do all that research and still getting a better deal.
