I have not seen a 9/6 in any of the strip casinos in Vegas for years or any of the casinos in Oklahoma. A lot have already droped to 7/5. I prefer bonus poker which gives you double for 2 pair and has much higher payouts for 4 of a kind.

I have a question. I'd like to play in convenience stores in Nevada, because there's no smoke. Granted the payouts won't be as large. Can I still make it worth my while, if I use good strategy?

I'm a video poker player. I've never seen a Jacks or better that had a 9-6 payout and pays 2 for two pair. Most often a 2 payout for two pair has a 7-5 or 8-5 payout.

9/6 Jacks or Better is hard to come by, or at least it has been for me, but I have seen them around(especially with lower rewards stated on a plaque on the machine). I have never seen a game labeled specifically “Jacks or Better” that has anything other than a 2x bet payout for two pair though. Maybe you are confusing some of the bonus games(bpd, ddb, tdb, ttb, etc.) with the traditional standard Jacks or Better.

The Indian casinos in Alabama exclusively offer Class II video gaming machines. Class II video gaming machines are devices that look similar to slot machines, but in actuality these machines are bingo games and the spinning reels, are deemed for “entertainment purposes” only.

Does the bet amount affect the odds in video poker like slot machines?

It can, some nickle and dime machines may only pay 8/5 or worse... you may have to move up to 25 or 50 cents or even a dollar before they pay you 9/6.. even then, in some locations they just don't have good video poker anywhere.

  • @markhayden4386

The coin amount has nothing to do with the "odds." The odds are completely determined by the pay table. The demon will impact the expected loss per hour. For example a player with a rate of 600 HPH playing quarter 8/5 BP the expected loss per hour is $6.23. While the same player, playing the same game; but at the $5 demon the expected loss per hour is $124.50.

The one benefit of the 2500 RF games is often they pay 500 for a single coin. So playing this is often better than the 9/5 game at max coin at a lower denomination.

I find video poker very boring and tedious. I suppose it is low volatility but you very seldom get a decent win either. Even a great hand like a 4 of a kind basically pays like a bonus in a normal slot machine. That hand is very rare. Constantly winning your money back or slightly more just isn’t very exciting. The only way to make it exciting would be to greatly increase your bet. It shows 25 cent denomination $1.25 max bet. It would be a game that a low roller might consider playing at a higher bet to increase excitement. Like doing a $1 denomination instead. Or even higher.

@@TheJackpotGents What is definitely misleading and inaccurate is you, presenting this as a "new" video -- when in fact, it is a recycled video from MORE THAN A DECADE ago. 9/6 Jacks or Better is almost non-existent in today's casinos. This video was good information back then, but it is no longer relevant. And it's dishonest for ACG to pretend this is a newly produced video.
