Video Poker Training - 100-Play Jacks or Better

Matt and Steve Bourie, from the American Casino Guide book, give video poker strategy tips while playing 100-play jacks or better. They then play the same game with a Super Times Pay feature added, and then move on to a 10-play Super Times Super Stacks game which features both a Super Times Pay multiplier and a Stacks bonus that adds up to 30 extra hands to the initial 10 hands played!
All games are played at videopoker.com which is a legal, non-wagering website. People play and practice to improve their chances of winning in casinos - or just for fun! They offer free contests to win cash and prizes, but the contests are free to enter. See below for a special exclusive offer for the fans of our KZread channel.

The hand near the 4:00 mark is not technically an inside straight. The hand is KQJ9 and it can win with both a 10 or an A10 which is a wrap around, and why it would be a better bet than just an inside straight.

That was fun cool game. You are right I am definitely not as good at video poker as I thought I was, I need more practice, I only go to the casino 1 to 2 times a year video poker has always been one of the games I enjoy playing now I think I’m going to use a little more strategy and try to utilize my players card and I may end up going to the casino 2 to 3 times a year. Last time I went I played the Buffalo game within about 30 minutes I hit an $1100 jackpot so I basically quit playing for the rest of the trip I gave my wins a $100 at a time to my wife daughter and my daughters best friend it was the girls 21st birthdays. I find most of the time I hit a nice size jackpot but the machines will take it all back so I switch to video poker right after hitting the jackpot maybe if I can be a better video poker player I can win a little on poker too. Thank you for the good information I just came across your channel about a month ago and really enjoy it.

It is my understanding that in a 5 card hand if 3 of the cards are of the same suit, you can choose them - even if the numbers are not in order. But only if you do not have a high card(s) to choose. Example: 9/hearts Q/hearts J/spades 8/hearts A/clubs. Normally I would choose the J/spades and A/clubs ( 2 high cards). However the poker video games are telling me to choose the 3 hearts - 9/Q/8. And to add to my confusion sometimes the free video game lets me choose the high card. Can someone please clarify the rule for this please.

When playing multi-hand games there is one deck for each hand you play. So, if you are on 10-play you are playing with 10 different decks. You are dealt your initial hand from one deck and whatever you choose to keep that is then held in all 10 hands. An exception to this is spin poker. You can play up to 9 lines on the screen, but they are all from the same deck.

Bad advice. The key rule is keep all wining cards, and hope for an improvement in your hand. Say you are dealt a pair, and a face card. No win there. What to keep, and why? If you keep the face there are 3 cards to win, and 4 shots to hit one. If you keep the pair you have 2 cards to hit, and 3 shots to hit one. That's an example of keeping what gets you closest to a win. Say you have almost a royal flush A K Q,J of hearts, and J spade. There's one card to win out of 47, and one shot to get it. If you keep the pair of jacks you have a win, and could improve it by getting 3 or 4 of a kind, full house or 2 pair. You have 3 shots to get that. Back to keeping a face card when that's all you got. To win you get 3 cards to shoot at, and 4 shots to get it. That's your best chance to win but you also have all the rest of the hands you could win. If you keep the pair you can't get any flushes, straights, 4 of a kind for any denomination other than for the pair you keep. You can't get 2 pair for any other denomination of pair except a set that includes your dealt pair. Stay in the winning column. Even If you have the almost a royal flush but no pair of jacks or better throw away all but 1 face. If you have a choice of faces to pick from when the deal in't a win you should keep the jack. If you keep the ace you can only get an ace high straight. Keeping the jack you could get an ace high straight, king high straight, queen high straight, and jack high straight, Simple arithmetic. You place your bet to get up to 10 shots at at getting one of their winning hands. Keeping any non winning cards costs you shots at getting winners. You don't get a win on the first deal you want to claw out anything you can to stay in at minimum cost until you get a sweet deal on the first deal The easiest win to get is jacks or better. It is incredible that all these youtube "experts" keep pairs, or 2 of anything except a face pair. Worse they throw away face card to keep pairs. If most players play like you it's you these casinos are built on. that said you got some funny ideas about how video poker calculates wins. It is not hand dealt random cards. It is a computer programmed to give whatever wins at a a programmed rate 99 or 85 percent, random tempo, and random amount to keep the win loss ratio at the programmed percentage. What it deals, what you hold, what your skill is means nothing to the computer. Play my way with a real hand held deck, and make your bets 2 percent of your bank. You will be in the quintillions in hours. Play my way on video poker, and it becomes real clear real quick it ain't dealing natural random cards.

@@TheJackpotGents That tells a lot about you. You did not write one word in mathematical dispute of what I wrote. Either you are so bad at simple arithmetic you don't recognize the truth of of what I wrote. Which doesn't inspire confidence in your "math". Not enough to bother following your link. Or you do know I'm right, and you're wrong, and can't admit you're wrong. Either way it stems from an infantile narcissistic refusal to tolerate being wrong. As a child you hated being wrong on a simple addition problem so you hated the whole subject. We fail in order to learn. But since you reject the fact that you're wrong you didn't learn math, or even simple arithmetic. I, on the other hand, was a college major in technology, and applied mathematics. @@TheJackpotGents You're still wrong. catching the face makes it a winner, and it still has the same 3 shots to get the 2 cards to make the 3 of a kind as the low pair has. if it doesn't catch the face it can still catch the 2 pairs, 3 of a kind, and the 4 of a kind for all the other denominations, which the low pair can't do. it can also catch all the straights, and flushes. The low pair can't catch any. The only thing it has in common with the low pair is it can't get a full house that doesn't include the cards kept. Almost everything else can be won by keeping the face. Almost nothing can be won keeping the low pair. You're still failing arithmetic, and can't admit you're wrong, and since most of this was mentioned directly or implied in previous posts you fail reading comprehension too. . .
