As Africa becomes the next China, foreighn Investors are finding more ways to own land to cash in on the growth of the middle and upper class. Luxury Land in Muthaiga, Nairobi is predicted by experts to surpass Alberton, Carlifonia by 2035. Most of it however is bieng swept up by Billionaires looking for a chunk of Africa's prestige real estate, or by foreign embassies and dignitaries. The area is 71.7km wide with a 20km square forest within it; hence land is EXPENSIVE cause no one's willing to sell their property.

The Governments of Australia and Israel just completed construction of their largest African Consulates within the area, that currenty hosts the United Nations Environment Programme hedquaters, American, Canadian, Belgian etc Embassies; hence growing competition from International Investors who raise the value and sell to foreign Governments representatives or other Investors has exponentially grown in the past 10 years, making it the continents fastest growing in value as you cannot Leverage the land( construct mutli-dwelling properties)due to strict zoning laws.

The only thing I would differ with here is that you do not have to maintain it. You do, you have to keep the grass cut, you have to fence it, and make sure that squatters don't move in. Depending on where in the world you buy land, laws are different and might protect squatters. Make sure to do your homework.

Land is still risky because NO one is really allowed to own land, taxes are still due on land, it may be held longer than you expected, the value could drop due to eminant domain, and, the land owner is still liable for attractive niusances and accidents that take place on that land. Not to mention the liability that exists from land features that harm others or the property of someone else (like falling trees). Due dilligence before your purchase, put money aside for insurance and insurance deductables. Check your city/county for "future land useage". Land ownership is still a liability. It only becomes an asset when you sell it for a profit.

The conundrum that I am in is that for me to buy land I would need to get a loan, attached to the loan is interest, and loan interest seems to be pretty high these days. So I'm thinking the returns you should get on the land a few years from now, you will be paying in interest to the lender. So does it really make sense if you cannot buy cash or get a really low-interest rate?

Sooner or later the rest will be built up because of overpopulation. So invest in the land spaces in soon to be built up parishes from now to reap the profit later.

Paul Stanley yeah that’s totally true but hear why it is beneficial tho. Most Properties are quoted in US dollars in Jamaica because the Jamaican dollar keeps on sliding. That’s one of the main reason why the dollar has no value here because we focusing on two currencies and the US dollar is always the preferred use of transactions. So that shouldn’t be an issue.

The "sliding" Jamican dollar will affect the value of land in Jamaica even though it looks good for farming. Still, Copper is the main Gross Domestic Product there though.

Paul Stanley I beg to differ. The fluctuation of the Jamaican currency won’t affect the property. On the contrary it’s the opposite. What makes a currency less compared to other currency is inflation and other factors. So the dollar would have to meet the standard of the property rather than the other way around.

  • @bgentsja6762

Paul Stanley that’s the reason they say land banking rather than saving because when the value of a currency fluctuates overtime, the land won’t. The land value will increase overtime.

I bought 10 acres in south Texas & sold it to a utility company. I bought it to, firstly, use the money from selling it to send my kids to any university anywhere in the world & graduate without any student debt. Or for me to retire & build a house on it & grow oranges on 9 acres of it. The opportunity arose & I sold it last year. I paid off my sons' student loans & retired 10 years earlier than we had originally planned. We moved to a nicer area & took a vacation to a Florida beach. My wife & I will never have to work again. If I get the chance to buy another farm I will. Another corner lot. I still own some rental real estate. My sons, both, want to own rental properties & farmland, too. I'd like our family to stay with both types of real estate. I wish you the best of luck!

I am looking to buy raw land (at least one hectar) next to a river in my country, Romania. I want to build my off the grid home there. You might think that land in a country like Romania will be cheap. Yes. It is cheap. You can find raw land for 1€ a square meter. You know why? Because hardly anyone has papers on their land. I am not sure why, maybe because getting the paperwork right for your land is expensive (2.000 €) or because the way in which land is being passed down from parents to children is very bureaucratic and complicated here, you are going to have a hard time buying a piece of land or a house LEGALLY. So I have been looking for THE land for more than a year. I am having a hard time because I want it to be as cheap as possible because I will invest 3-4 times more in the property to make it what I want.

Texas & southern Canada! I've seen, where climate change is affecting this part of the world. A large company made me a good offer on a very small farm I was planning to retire to later. I wasn't even planning to sell. We just closed the deal this month. I'm staying with bare land & farm land. Very low maint. & I lease out to farmers. My parents were very poor as kids. They, & their siblings, picked crops by hand to feed their families. I learned to value good land. They aren't making any more of it.

Great video : I invest in land with a condor or Townhouse on it. I need cash flow--tenants pay me monthly to reside in it for a month--the next month, they pay me again & I still own the property. Additionally, I get to pay less income taxes because there is an imaginary cost called " depreciation..' Y'all don't get to "depreciate raw land". Blessings to all that read this .
