    2:00 about that i mostly use a lip balm, just leave the nut of strings, put a little bit of it in the slot, and a little on the string It's almost invisible, pretty easy to apply and it smells nice ~~ That way until the effect wears out you'll get squeaky clean bends, no tuning issues and a good odor for your guitar hahaha

    To help with the string stretching I would tune my guitar higher and let it sit overnight, usually that did the job buit I like your suggestion even better. Also the trick with the phone and the looper is awesome!!

    pieces of foam cut and placed 'inside' tremolo springs to prevent noisy resonance from them. Likewise, I use a piece of foam (some use hair bands etc) under the strings past the nut to prevent noise from them also.

    Good tips with one exception, never, never over stretch strings when replacing. That results in strain hardening the string sacrificing life. Instead, simply play them in. You’ll only have to retune a couple of times and they’ll stabilize quickly enough.

  • @muckypuppy4445

    @muckypuppy4445

    Ye this is pretty important tbh. The ones I have on now I overstretched and it is very hard to get keep them in tune ever since. They don't like holding standard tuning and often jump above when I go to tune up. After no time at all they go flat again. Will be changing again soon so no worries.

    A quick check by a trustworthy guitar tech should be enough to identify the source of the issue and it would likely be very quick and easy to sort out.... every time I have come across this issue however the nut slot was the issue..but still worth getting it checked out👌

    i am not disagreeing, but i would say practice standing up unless you plan on performing sitting down is the best solution. part of performing is visual and let's face it a guitar that is sitting real high on your body can look silly especially in certain genre's of music. besides learning to play in different positions at different angles can help as well over time... but i get what you are saying and yes that works.

  • @Samjamguitar

    @Samjamguitar

    Жыл бұрын

    Definitely agree with the idea of practicing standing up. And I also agree that for some genres it is almost a basic requirement that you should sling the guitar low for the sake of visuals. However for the most part if you want consistency from sitting down to standing up and also minimize the risk of wrist injuries further down the line then most players would benefit from compromising aesthetics for more practical reasons👌...but I agree with you Metallica with high slung guitars just doesn't look right.

    NEVER rub a piece of cloth on a guitar string. This can end up releasing lint and wrapping it around the string and ruining your tone. If you want to clean the strings, use microfiber, those fabrics used to clean glasses.

    yes! its also good practice to scream into the soundhole of your guitar for atleast 10 minutes when you first get it to prime the wood so it resonates better. also playing guitar on a full stomach could cause appendicitis. and be careful of watching too much tv. it could turn your eyes square.
