To detoxify youtube home. we can create a extension where we ask user to define keywords and channel names, then using this parameter we can blur all those video which is not related to user given values on youtube’s home page. By this we can remove distractions also if user want to add any blur video/related channel into his parameters we can add. We can also do same this with search screen where if we can get search value from search bar we can apply blur on those video which not contains any related texts. Also we can give turn off turn on button anywhere in youtube’s ui if user wants to actually wants youtube’s recommended video to watch in his leisure time. By the way it will work only for youtube website not in the mobile app. Let me know your thoughts!

what if user wants to learn something that is not on his home page . in his example at least this was not the issue because when it surfs video on user's behalf , youtube recommend more of those videos on home page .

Talking about the detoxify idea: KZread lets you create multiple KZread accounts under one Google account. You can use these multiple accounts to create different spaces with specific feeds according to the space. For example, I have three accounts: Music, Work, and my main account. The Music account has a feed full of music I like, and likewise for the other accounts. The only thing I have to take care of is that I don't watch pastime videos while I am logged in with my Work account because it can mess up my Work feed (only when I do this for a day or two). In other words, watch and search for content according to the space you are in. Also, switching to a different account is just a task of a few clicks. You get used to it after a few days. I started doing all this a month ago, and I can already see the change. If you are someone going through the same problem as stated in the video, you can try this. And do let me know if it helped :)

You can start anytime after you have grasped the basics of programming properly (this doesn't mean DSA) after that languages and frameworks are tools to accomplish your tasks. essence of engineering is building things and you will learn by building so start to build these or any ideas as soon as you can! Your question isn't wrong but as someone who has been in the same situation I have to tell you this - Following any syllabus or roadmap of doing things won't get make you capable of building things, it doesn't work linearly like you are expecting it to like I learned python & DSA now I should be able to learn some technologies or be able to learn web dev. Or I know X amount of web dev now I should be able to build this project, Its not like a video game that you learn x concepts and unlock the ability to build y project.

Detoxify is a good idea but the KZread data API operates on a quota system. Every time you make an API request, it uses up a certain number of quota units. You have a daily limit on how many of these units you can use. If you hit that limit, your API requests will be denied until your quota is reset the next day.

For that you can let the webmaster whitelist your server IP. Even companies like Google use this method for their crawler bots to show website content in search results.

you win some you lose some most problably yt has some criteria of when to actually count a video as viewed vs clicked. so , if the algo customizes our feed based on click , then it shount be a problem. but for view, yeah, it could be a sore spot, fake views, etc etc

I think detoxifying a great idea but I don't think the logic is correct. If you spam surf all the best written videos around a topic, then it won't show up in their feed as it's already seen, resulting in missing good content.
