As a Brazilian I feel like European and African accents sound the same, except for Sao Tomean which kinda sounds Brazilian. The Timorese accent is quite different too

You are right. Some people from Flanders came to live in the islands in the early days of colonisation.

My dear friend, the "s" sound as it is pronounced in Portugal is not only pronounced in Rio de Janeiro, but also in many parts of northeastern Brazil and in Portuguese-speaking African countries. In the phonetics of standard European Portuguese, the letter "e" between two consonants, when it is not stressed, is pronounced [ɨ], which is why you think that vowels are eaten. Likewise, "e" at the end of a word will be read as [ɨ] of the word and not as an "i" as in Pt-Br. Furthermore, Portuguese in general (regardless of the different versions of the language) is a phonetically complex language. Unlike Spanish, for example. In northeastern Brazil as well as in the extreme south, [ti] and [di] are pronounced as in Portugal and not [tchi] and [dji] as in the rest of the country. These phonetic and lexical differences also exist in variants of the English language. That's what makes the language so rich. All accents are beautiful.

Living in Portugal & learning Portuguese there are many workers here from Brazil.i honestly don't really understand what they are saying due to their accent use of non Portuguese words that has ruined the Portuguese language.

Triste ideia de que os outros estragaram a língua... José Saramago disse: " Não há uma língua portuguesa, há línguas em português." E esta sábia ideia é, de facto, a verdade.
