According to this video Flamini is already richer than Kroenke who is worth 10 billion compared to Flamini's 15. According to forbes it would cost £2 billion to buy Arsenal.

@@comrade6978 I feel that people are getting the wrong impression. Forbes estimates his company's valuation at billions because of the potential of it, not that he actually has billions in liquid form. Valuation and actual wealth are two very different things.

Flamini's story is incredible to be fair. I am sure that being wealthy from football helped to get things going more easily but to turn that wealth into something worth $28bn requires a good idea, good execution and probably some luck too. Perhaps one day he can buy Arsenal and bring back the glory days! :)

I’d imagine Vialli probably be on this list somewhere as he was rich before he was a footballer. Most articles say his dad was a self made millionaire but to live in a 60 room castle probably suggests a bit more.

Probably more successful than anyone else on this list, especially since the A-League salary would have given him way less seed money to start his company.

Only at the top level Even then, it would take someone on Mesut Ozil's wage over 2000 years (without paying tax or spending a penny) to accumulate the wealth of Kroenke. Point is. The footballers are wealthy, but these guys have turned it up a notch. The richest people in football are the owners. They’re hundreds and thousands of times more wealthy.
