I think Disney should do what WWE did, and release the hard to find stuff on Disney Plus in a collection, and use that as a selling point.

if they were to release this stuff, i think they’d bring in a good amount of extra money, but they might think the demographic for that kind of stuff (lost media searchers, people who love their franchises more than others, etc.) is too small. it’s a shame.

They was a Super Hero VR one you stood up with motion wands using a Head set that was really unresponsive Wii Remote like tech. It was on rails and started with you trying to hit a Dog like creature which was hard to do. It had a early 90's Rob Liefeild like look to it and they was near Giant portrait of the characters near by it one looked like maleficent in a 90's comic book style.

Reminds me of when I was a kid. I loved the Heathcliff cartoon and the other segment The Catillac Cats. Years after the show was off the air I found a few Catillac Cats puzzles at KB Toys. The writing was in French and they had a different name, Les Entrechats. French kids aren't going to know that Catillac is a play on Cadillac. Sorry it has nothing to do whit the topic, just brought up a fond memory. I really miss KB Toys. By the time Toys R us came to my area I was "too old" for toys. I bought a few things there mind you. My deep seated childhood memories took place at the toy isle of Wal-Mart and at KB. KB and Big Lots both used to be owned by the same company. I think that explains why KB would get strange and closeout toys now and again.

Disney wasn't at all pleased with RKO Radio Pictures and wasn't just unhappy with Howard Hughes and his absolute disdain for the company. RKO wasn't going to distribute "The Living Desert" and that was the last straw. Disney decided to establish Buena Vista Film Distribution, Inc. to oversee the distribution of its movies.

  • @vincerizzo1401

This is a pretty interesting list you've made. I didn't know Disney had so much lost media within their pockets. Even researching a piece of lost media feels like either a lesson in history or a treasure waiting to be found. But still, great list overall. BTW, I was wondering if you're going to make more lists like these, but for other various children's entertainment companies. Like a list on lost media from Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network. If you're going to do either, I would suggest you start on Cartoon Network, because some of its lost media are instant gold waiting to be dug up. Here's an example. Ben Bocquelet, the creator of TAWOG, made an episode called "The Downer", where Gumball wished his family to disappear because he's in a shitty mood; only to nearly get consumed and by the darkness resembling his loneliness and guilt for wishing his family was all gone. I won't spoil the rest for you because you've seen Gumball yourself. ANYWAYS, there was an original draft of the episode that was a little too dark to air for the kids watching the show. Many questioned Ben about the nature of this episode and to this day many people don't know what has happened during the episode. Someone actually posted a rough draft of the episode's script; giving us the main lead on its search. The rest is all up to us to figure it out. This may be an annoying way of suggesting people like you make more videos on lost media, but this could give you a good idea for the future of your channel. That's all and sorry if I've wasted your time.

Especially if it's media that's banned for having content that wouldn't be considered PC by today's standards, which, yeah, from their POV, I understand, but, on the other hand, the historical value might be worth a look. Case in point: There's a "Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers" episode called "Puffed Rangers" that mostly takes place in China. The original version had Asian car executives speaking in broken English and a lot of jokes and references to Chinese culture. Because of complaints about how racist it was, they made a new version where the car executives' English is more refined and all the Chinese culture jokes are altered or cut. The new version has aired on TV and was released on DVD, Blu-ray, and Disney Plus.

I have lost a piece of Disney media. It's an animated Peter Pan "segment", that possibly aired on TV in the 80s, or maybe early 90s. It seemed to be some kind of epilogue to the movie. The Lost Boys were flying back home to their moms, and Mr. Smee was going with them. Smee was swimming in their air, struggling to stay afloat. This "closure" to the story is contradicted by the 2002 Return to Neverland, so maybe it has been buried on purpose. Additional notes: If memory serves, Smee's mom was implied to be still alive in England. If this was not a part of a TV special, maybe it was on a karaoke tape or something like that. If you think I dreamed this whole thing, let me know.

“Music Land” was a long lost Disney film according to #6 and it combined segments from both “Make Mine Music” and “Melody Time” was planned to release in 1955, because RKO got out of the Disney deal and formed Buena Vista Distribution Co. in 1954 and released “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” and “Lady and the Tramp”. After Disney end the deal, RKO was on its last legs and released “The Conquerer” in 1956 when it was under RKO and distributed by Universal. “The Conquerer” with John Wayne was one of the worst movies ever made, and it was one of the last movies that RKO produced. It was shot in a location site where a nuclear bomb got hit. Ironically, “Music Land” fell into obscurity and it has not been seen in the public since 1970, and then got pulled forever in 1985. Unfortunately, there were no bootleg copies or 16mm prints of “Music Land” (1995) exists. If Disney might come across “Music Land ‘55”, it would be a mystery. Prior to “Music Land ‘55”, many of the segments from both “Make Mine Music” and “Melody Time” we’re released separately as shorts in 1953. After RKO died out in 1956, another company known as General Tire purchased the ill-fated RKO in 1955, and then 1959, it was spun off into RKO Teleradio, and in 1959, RKO General became a radio and TV station ownership where it remained until 1991 where it owned KHJ, and WOR for both radio and TV stations during the 1970’s and 1980’s.

What I can remember was at course the heavy use of screens, like lots of interactive places. There weren’t only VR stations but also places where you could draw stuff on a screen. The VR games I can remember are the Pirates of the Caribbean one, an Aladdin carpet ride game, and also a Buzz Light year inspired game. I’m honestly surprised that these games are lost though.

To make your correction, “Peter Pan” was released in 1953, not 1954, and the title of the movie is “Make Mine Music”, not “Make Music Mine”. #10 is the lost Deems Taylor track from “Fantasia”. As you can hear prior or Cory Burton, the original Deems Taylor audio was included on a VHS release from 1991, and on the 50th anniversary theatrical re-release of “Fantasia” from 1990, except for a brief snippet in the opening to “Fantasia 2000”. The film itself with the Cory Burton dub is on Disney+. I hope if the original Deems Taylor audio will be restore for the film’s 80th anniversary this year, “Fantasia” will be in 4K, Ultra HD, and digital using Dolby Atmos sound system for the home.

Those Dish Disney channel games you mentioned, reminds me of when Cablevision had a barbie channel back in 2008-2015 or so. The zack and cody game looks really similar to a matching game the channel had. I really dont remember any thing else from the channel, and the only other media I can find is 1 youtube video, its a shame that its most likely lost to time

LETS GOOOO I actually have memories of something lost media with those dish network games. All I remember from it though is the zack and Cody connect 4 and that my remote control had a “dish games” button. Whenever you tried to click that button it would take you to a snake mini game on a loading screen that lasted a few minutes.

I vaguely remember Disney Interactive, I think I remember it on some of the VHS tapes I used as a kid. I do have the tapes but I don't have the remote to use it (or whatever you need to use it). I don't remember the games or what was on there, I just remember it saying to use Disney interactive, it always confused me and I would let it play so I can watch whatever Disney movie I was watching. Also, I don't remember if my family had a subscription or not, my older sister loves those Disney shows mentioned in this video and she would definitely be the type to play those games. I don't know, I doubt I ever saw them or not.

My favorite piece of Disney lost media will allways be the recorded-but-never-animated episodes of the cancelled Team Atlantis show. 3 of them were turned into the film "Atlantis 2: Milo's return", but the other episodes featured the Loch Ness monster and a crossover with Demona from Gargoyles.

Was lucky enough to visit DisneyWorld while the DisneyQuest was still open. The Pirates game was one of the best of the VR games there. The space invasion/rescue one was pretty coold too, since it specifically encouraged the four players to work together between moving and weapons.

i have so many pics of my family and i at disney quest, we used to love going even though, looking back, it wasn’t probably as fun as i thought it was. that pirates of the Caribbean game always had a super long line. i only got to play it once the few times we went, after waiting like 20 minutes with my family, and it was kind of bad. your experience really depended on how the other ppl on the ship with you did. if y’all all sucked, you would go down. there was also this one game where you got in a rocketship and landed on this alien planet and someone had to steer and the others would shoot the aliens as you tried rescuing ppl from the planet. that was pretty cool

The developers of the Disney Infinity game did a poll years ago between two characters to see which one people would want to see included as a figure for the game. It was right around when Frozen became incredibly popular, and the two characters were Olaf and DARKWING DUCK! Sadly the timing and matchup meant that Olaf was obviously going to win, and they never did the Darkwing figure. I have to wonder if there's any coding they were working on, or even prototypes of Darkwing that were in the works.

Damn, that Disney Quest one really bums me out because I went to both locations at different points but went to the Chicago one first on a boy scout trip and played that Hercules one and fondly remembered it but what's funny to me is when I went, they had the exterior stuff for the pirates one built, but it wasn't open for guests, I guess that means I visited the last month they were running the Hercules game (which im glad I saw this cause I forgot the game characters were low poly and not sprite based like the PS1 game.)
