    The Blue Meanie is a really nice guy. Unless I missed something he didn't deserve what he got from JBL. It sure take a big man to pick on a dude who is just there to do the job and collect a paycheck.

    there was shit on both sides. JBL was a douche with all his hazing and ribbing, Meanie ran his mouth about being bullied on MySpace, rather than keeping it professional. Shit came to a head and JBL went too stiff, not realising Meanie was already injured. They've made up now.

    8:16 It's very worth noting that the Masahiko Kimura who "tried to mess with" Rikidozan is the SAME Masahiko Kimura who broke Helio Gracie's arm with an ude-garami double-wristlock; aka, the man whom the Kimura Lock was named for, and one of the most legendary figures of Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Make no mistake: if Kimura truly wanted to, he'd rag-doll Rikidozan through the roof and break every limb on his body. However he was still trying to work the match and had no idea Rikidozan was trying to kill him until it was too late.

  • @llydrsn

    @llydrsn

    2 жыл бұрын

    I've read somewhere that Gracie wouldn't tap out of the wristlock from Kimura (out of pride apparently) that Kimura did not have a choice but to just break his arm to end the match.

  • @Tenchigumi

    @Tenchigumi

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@llydrsn Yeah, that's what I've understood as well. Kimura initially wanted to KO Gracie with a big throw, like an osotogari, but the padded floors and Gracies' toughness precluded that. Ultimately, he knew that while Helio was clearly outmatched, Helio wouldn't give up, so Kimura had to do something dramatic to end the fight. And so he did.

    Receipts happen all the time in legit sports. Almost every team sport (especially football, basketball and hockey) keeps an enforcer to rough up opposing players and absorb penalties when their stars are targeted.

    Pedro Martinez said in his autobiography that he once head hunted a batter whom he wanted to plunk with a pitch. During warm ups, he purposely threw his pitches all over the place to give the umpire the impression that he did not have his best control that day. When his intended target came, he plunked the guy intentionally as planned. But as the seed of his wildness for that day was already in the head of the umpire, he just got a warning 😂🤣
