I really laughed for 1 hour after seeing Prof. Nakayama tripping and falling off the stairs before dying on the ground. This is by far the weirdest and funniest dead i’ve experienced in Borderlands.

It's probably done intentionally for bad game journos (that's nearly all of them) to not dunk on the game for its 'frustrating' boss fights. I've even seen them make articles about how boss fights are a bad concept that shouldn't exist in games. *facedesk*.
I absolutely love Infamous 2 but yes the bosses within that game were the most disappointing parts of it.

I'm never going to get over Calamity Ganon. Not even by the game, but during the release of BotW, he was advertised as the massive goal. Just has similar attacks you've seen from the other bosses and no need for a weak point you can just mindlessly slash him. The other 3d Zelda bosses did impose a challenge, even if it was kind of mild.

The Lynels are the toughest enemies. 😎 *'Ganon'* as a final boss makes sense, for he is supposed to be only stoppable by the powers of Zelda & Link and not by any other kind of army or well prepared, _"worldly force"._ But he really was not an entertaining boss-fight. The Lynels were cooler. But this happens in many forms and in many games too. 🥱 Same how the first Yiga we encounter was a cooler fight than _"the strongest Yiga",_ Koga, or the Yiga Generals. The powergap just kept widening way too much.

Overrated game, not only this Boss.
Dracula means son of Dracul (his father) which means "The Dragon." So Dracula means "Son of the Dragon." It's also sometimes translated as "Son of the Demon."
For Ganon, it's not that he couldn't be beat by the Four Divine Beasts. He could, he just sent four pieces of himself designed to kill each champion specifically in order to hijack the beasts.
I mean, Calamaty Ganon being easier if you are properly ready makes some sense. That was kind of the original plans, but the other guys never got their beasts to fire

While maybe not the most overhyped boss in history. But in Spider-Man 2 on the PS2, for a certain chunk of the game, the game hypes up a big encounter with Mysterio. One of Spidey's more iconic villains. He has a house of illusions, robot minions that are kind of pushovers, and changed the appearance of the statue of liberty! All of which leads up to a "boss fight" in a convenience store, his health bar fills up 3-times before the fight starts. AAAND he goes down in one hit! Effectively making him one of the most hilarious pushover bosses of all time, and I don't think it'll ever stop being funny anytime soon!😅

@Falcon Ima let you finish, but "Dracul"(the family last name) is based on the Latin word "Draco" which means Dragon. Vlad the Impaler/Dracula is actually named Vlad the 3rd after his dad Vlad the 2nd. And his dad was called Dragon because he joined the Order of the Dragon to fight the Ottomans for the Christian Church. So Dracula is called The Dragon or Son of the Dragon.
On Dracula calling himself “The Dragon” the name Dracul (where dracula got his name) means “the dragon.” Technically he was the son of the dragon as his father was a member of the order of dragons. A sect of knights from the Holy Roman Empire
That's why Senator Armstrong really took my heart and soul as a gamer by storm! Man, when I finally finished him off... what a breath of fresh air! Took nearly 4 hours for me to study and figure him out.
Wow, I never thought the finale with the beast was dumb, I thought it was pretty epic and cool, especially when Cole went out with a overkill.
They missed a really cool opportunity with Calamity Ganon too. It would have been sufficiently difficult if it was actively trying to go on a rampage at the end. The more he destroys, the stronger he gets, make it a race to exploit his weaknesses before he can power up and destroy Hyrule completely. Then once you've beaten him the devastation from your fight leaves a giant scar on the land.

Absalom was somewhat challenging on Nightmare, but even then he was easier than he should have been. Fun facts about Dracula, the reason "The Dragon" is used as a nickname, is because that's essentially his name. Dracula comes from the old Dracco/Draco or Drago, each meaning "Dragon", and more particularly, based off the Romanian "Dracul", which means, you guessed it, "Dragon." Here's a little culture today for anyone reading! Have a good one~

In defense of inFAMOUS2, you spent the end of the game powering up like crazy in addition to charging up your powers with the RFI, which puts your lightning on god levels of power. Like Kessler said, there was a point he would have been strong enough to stop the beast, but was unable to and the RFI drastically and rapidly increased your strength by amplifying Cole's power, but at a great cost. This insane power boost is why the battle is so short, since you have now reached near peak power. Kinda liked it tbh because for 1 short battle you got to see what really going all out would look like and that was pretty cool!
Colonel Autumn from Fallout 3. For someone who was commander of one of the most technologically advanced factions in the Wasteland, a couple of sentences or a few bullets were all you needed to take him out. I mean, sure, you could talk The Master from the first game into blowing himself up, but that was still a lot more involved then talking Autumn down
I think they made calamity ganon easy because he wasn’t fully complete in breath of the wild. Now in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity the ganon boss fight is actually pretty difficult because he’s actually in his complete form.

In my opinion Alcina Dimitrescu (Resident Evil 8 Village) should be on the list... even before the game got released, everyone was hyped for her beeing the next "Mr.X" or "Nemesis". One of the Capcom devs admitted they screwed up, because they didn't realise how popular she would be. Um, you only slapped her on all the press releases, including full-size cutouts at Gamestop! It was kind of refreshing to see a female antagonist who looked to be in her forties, with curves like a woman is supposed to have (albeit a bit oversized, to be fair) instead of anorexic girls who look like they should still be in high school. The way Lady D was voiced and her character written, she was so diabolically evil, yet at the same time insanely charismatic, even without the gigantic curves. While the final boss fight isn't bad mechanically, there's no buildup and it's just "there". Story-wise, it was completely flat. Lady D should have been haranguing us the entire game, not necessarily like Nemesis (though that would be awesome), but building on her character, which had so much potential, until the final confrontation. I'd vainly hoped she would somehow make a resurrected appearance in the Shadow of Rose DLC, but sadly, no. SoR was still excellent, though a Lady D cameo would have been epic.

her fight wasn’t insanely hard or anything, but it wasn’t that easy. it was a pretty normal boss fight. it was just dumb that they used the first boss to advertise the game
Calamity Ganon was meant to bring the player to explore A LOT. The more things you did in the world, the easier he would be. The whole story is about link losing by fighting him alone, along his blights, and monsters. without any help and losing. The easy end is link being able to defeat ganon with the help of zelda who now have released her powers and the 4 champions. Ganon was meant to be a bigger challenge the earlier you fought him, and on that, he was a success. Fighting 4 blights and full healt Ganon in a single fight is very challenging, even more on hard mode. I feel like people forget that a lot. Sure with the master sword and the 4 beast bested hes not a real threat, but I feel like it makes the games charm, everthing you do ACTUALLY matters.
I was expecting a fight with the strength and intelligence of Albert Einstein, but instead got a boss with the intelligence of a potato.

The beast (John White) from inFAMOUS 2 maybe the "omega" big bad (in terms of raw power and abilities) but his end boss fight was a drawn out version of the opening mission. Even the Evil (inFAMOUS; the original Dev planned ending) path when he's your ally he's such a pushover. He constantly complains for you to help him.Wish the series got a PS5/PS4 remaster with all the four games with their respective DLCs and Add-ons in one bundle ($20-$30 for a series that hasn't been touched in almost 10 years).

To me it has become apparent a long time ago that the elite four is the hardest part of any pokemon game. If you beat them, anything that comes after, whether it be a final trainer, or the legendary pokemon of the game it's pretty much a guaranteed clean sweep. Usually a final trainer has some cheeky low ball tactics, like somehow being able to attack twice, swap Pokemon, then attack one more time before giving you a turn regardless of how high your speed is, but it ultimately doesn't matter because that winds up being the only moves they get in before you wipe them with your party's starter.
I always enjoyed the beast fight in infamous 2 as a kid. Gotta remember how op cole is canonically as well, at the point where he fights the beast he’s super powerful

The Mist Noble might be a pushover, but it’s pretty impressive how he’s able to make sweet music while “strumming on its instrument”. Maybe I’ve been playing my flute wrong, maybe stroking was the wrong strategy
I think the main problem with Infamous 2 was that the dev team weren't really considering the Beast to be the final boss. I've read that the "Evil" ending was supposed to be the canon ending until people only really played through the "Good" story then quit. As a result, I think the dev team really set it up so that the Evil Ending, were you take on Nix, was the final boss. It's a tough fight with a good emotional payoff. As such, they thought of the Beast as more of a Mid-Boss fight and adjusted accordingly (which to me feels accurate).
The beast isn't really a fight. The entire time, yiu are slowing him down and buying time to charge the rfi.
In BOTW I played for forever, did about all I could do and never battled Gannon because I figured he'd be too hard. I mean thunderblight Gannon kicked my ass so badly, Calaminty Gannon had to be like 10x harder than that, right? When I did finally battle him I could not believe how easy he was! I fought Lynels that were harder.
So is Doom number 3 or number 5? Great video as always!
The name Dracula means “son of Dracul.” In the Romanian language today, dracul means “the devil”-drac is “devil,” ul is “the”-but it is derived from the Latin dracō, “dragon.”

These games don't have that balance when you unlock all your abilities and powers before reaching the final boss then it represents no challenge that's why they need to find a balance 👀
Dracula being called “The Dragon” is a reference to the real life Dracula. Vald Dracula the II had many titles such as “Valid the Impaler” and “The Dragon”, the latter being a monicker that Vlad’s father also went by. The real life “The Dragon” was terrifying for the amount of people he massacred to include his methods which served as a foundation for mythical Dracula the Vampire.
On the subject of overhyped bosses, *Skyward Sword* springs to mind. All things considered, I found Demise to be relatively easy, especially compared to the Cistern boss, Koloktos.. Even The Imprisoned was more challenging(though mostly because it took me embarassingly long to realize I could attack his head WITHOUT tripping him with his toes)
In the Mario Galaxy games, the final confrontation with Bowser is underwhelming. In the first Galaxy, the fight is just a longer version of the previous fights. In Galaxy two, however, the final fight has only 3 attacks from Bowser, and one allows you to injure him. At least in the first game, you tricked Bowser into hurting himself, then taking ad of his injury.
When the boss trash talks the protag/player that they’ll crush you, but you crush them.
As for Dracula being called "The Dragon" that isn't silly. That is actually his name. "Dracul" or "Dracula" is literally a name that means "The Dragon".
The seneschal from dragons dogma was a pushover of a final boss. It represented how underdeveloped fights against humans were.

I just want to make sure that the fact "Dracula" means "son of a dragon" doesn't go unnoticed. Just in case the first two thousand people commenting about it get missed.
First thought was Kai Lang from Mass Effect. Everyone and even the cutscenes make him sound tough and everything. And yet by the end he’s a big pushover.

I... don't even remember him for some reason.
Biggest paper tiger last boss ever, the end boss of Fable 2. I literally force pushed him off the edge first move, boom end of game. So sad, Fable 2 was a huge letdown and not even on par with the OG Fable.
How about that sky scraper from Devil May Cry 2? Cool intro, absolutely shocking gameplay.
So I worked on Shadows of Mordor at Monolith Studios, and the reason why Act 3 is so short (and the final fight being the shortest thing ever) was because WarnerBrothers cut our release date 6 months earlier than planned. So we had to scrap Act 3 and rush the game out the door.
I like that Gameranx mentioned such an older game like Castlevania 2. I wish they would feature more games from older systems.

Dracula actually refers to the fact he was a member of the Dragon Clan, christian knights who fought mostly the ottoman empire's march on western Europe. He had a very guts like life, filled with betrayal and obscure alliances, and at the end, when there was nobody left on his side, he single handedly scared away the ottomans from Romania. He IS the Dragon
Never get tired of punching the fish bowl off Mysterio in Spiderman 2
I didnt mind the intro for the cyberdemon as much when I played doom 3 all those years ago... but the puzzle aspect.. oh man, it confused me at first then disappointed the hell out of me.
Mist Noble and Nakayama hurt my feelings being on the list. The challenge with Mist Noble was figuring out the maze to get in with respawning ghosts all around you that you couldn't see until you were a few feet away from them. There was a mini boss right there as well with 3 or 4 enemies hanging out with him, and while he wasn't that hard it was still a boss run that you didn't want to repeat multiple times. Nakayama's death was just hilarious, and after having to wade through the worst, most annoying DLC in the series to get to him it was nice to have a genuinely Borderlands ending that came right out of left field that you wouldn't expect to happen. Jackenstein was a proper final boss anyway, so I'm glad it ended with a fall down the stairs.
Honestly I remember playing Darksiders 2 when it first came out and beating Absolom in the 1st go, but I dont recall if I found him challenging or not. I remember taking the fight seriously, but I dont remember if I felt the fight was too easy. Maybe cause I just turned off my brain and enjoyed the moment.

I don't have any particular memories of Absolom's challenge either. Not him being difficult, or being easy. I'd assume he was easy because I definitely had the best gear by the end, but I just don't remember either way either. Weird.

He 2-3 taps you on deathinitive difficulty. Very easy on lower difficulties where getting hit is part of the game..
Quick Time Event battles and Puzzle Battles for the final boss are really anti-climatic. It is fun to have those kinds of mechanics thoughout the game, but not in the battle that is supposed to be the epic confrontation that the entire game built up for. However, there was a time in the game industry like ten years ago when a lot of companies felt like this was "the thing" they had to put in their games
I do want to argue about Absalom a little bit. He's not so hard on normal difficulties, but when fighting him on deathinitive difficulty like I did (with experience of the game already under my belt, third playthrough), he hits like a truck and can take a hit. He ended up being every bit of a challenge he was hyped up to be. Of course, my favorite boss is still probably either the Guardian or the Archon
5:48 In historical aspect, The Dragon makes sense. Vlad Dracul, the real person Dracula is based on, has a family symbol that is a dragon.
Kinda hated the final boss in Crysis 1, I was shooting at it for 10 minutes, avoiding all it's attacks, thinking I was using lots of strategy to damage it, turns out nothing does damage to it except the nearby rocket launcher then it just felt pointless.
As for The Dragon in Castlevania 2, "Dracul" is Romanian for "The Dragon" (or "The Devil"). And "Dracula" supposedly means "Son of the Dragon". So Castlevania calling Dracula "The Dragon" is actually a reference to the origin of the name, "Dracula". I believe Vlad the Impaler was actually called "Dracula", his father was "Dracul", as people referred to them as "the Dragon" and "Son of the Dragon". So yeah, kind of a fun fact there for ya! PS don't quote me on what people may have called Vlad the Impaler, hahaha. Although I'm fairly certain there were these Romanian historical figures, a father-son duo, which were actually referred to as Dracul and Dracula, serving as the inspiration for the Master of the Demon Castle's better-known title.

He called himself son of the dragon actually. Others called him the impaler.
You forgot about Lucien from Fable 2... You spend the entire game trying to recruit a dream team to take him down, and it turns out all it took was a single regular bullet !!!
With inFamous, this may very well be a reach in me trying to find a reason, but I always felt one of three things happened. A. Kessler was building you up to be able to take on the Beast to prevent his exact future from happening again, so maybe during the final fight with him Cole secretly unlocked a type of lighting that was specifically able to harm the Beast. B. One of Kessler and Coles listed powers is Matter Manipulation, in that they are able to transmute energy at the atomic level into lightning. So Cole/Kesslers lightning arent normal lightning and so thats why they are able to harm the Beast. C. I always figured the Beasts powers energy absorption and dispersal. Just live the Ray Sphere he gets his powers from he is able to absorb energy and radiation from things around him, but as well able to activate the power of Conduits around him. So he is able to absorb the energy/radiation of the nuclear missile, but unable to do so when it comes to other Conduits. Kinda like how in some stories dragon fire is useless against other dragons, but regular fire is still good against them. Again, just some thoughts, and will never really know since the devs never said anything or confirmed beyond the comics.

I love the Witcher 3 but "you cast a shield and roll around" is literally the entire combat system. It's such a shame that the combat boiled down to that
