I just bought the pochette metis in reverse mono last week 🥰 I had hesitations at first due to the mini bag trend and thought am I late on the pochette metis trend 😊 but really loving it so functional and just the right size and I think it is now a classic LV together with the speedy.🥰

I have the small Antigona in grey pebble leather also. It's one of my favorite bags. I still use it and I use it often. I also have a Chanel in the single Maxi size. I refuse to sell it.

If you own a handbag be it LV, Gucci, Givenchy, etc. because they are not the “it bag” or “flavor of the month” I believe you should enjoy these investment pieces because they are not inexpensive and are still beautiful little works of art and craftsmanship. I certainly do!

I think all these “out of style” bags are very classic and not actually out of style.

I have the chanel jumbo in black caviar and I loooove it, my absolute favourite. It can NEVER go out of style because it's a classic and classics are always in style.

The Antigona will never go out of style, it’s a classic ❤️

Chanel Jumbo or Large is my favourite! It fits more things and its a versatile bag that can swing from casual to formal. Never go wrong with Chanel Double Classic flap Large size.

Celine is very understated and elegant. I own two vintage Celine bags and they are beautiful. Not edgy naturally.

I love my Valentino rockstud spike bag with wrinkled lambskin 💖😊

In this age of social media where we have alot of influencers and content creators showing off what new we get caught up in the whirlwind of getting the latest trends. I love this video Mel! Personally most of the bags I own are "outdated" but I still love carrying them.

And sometimes out of style with social media it’s not the same as real life, I still see a lot the Gucci Marmont, everyone say that bag is out of style but I still see it quite often.

Hi Mel, out of the 10 “out of style” bags you’ve mentioned, I own 3 of them - Givenchy Antigona + Valentino Rockstud + Chanel Jumbo. I love them all and I’ll continue to keep them in my collection. They suit my style and they look great on me. Fashion vloggers these days may not like the Chanel Boy but I really like mine which is in medium chevron caviar. Designer bags are expensive and I must have an affinity for it before I would part with thousands of dollars for any one of them. So, I’m not apologising for owning any one of these so called outdated bags. :)

I just recently got my antigona. I’ve wanted it for years in the leather croc. I love it. It’s classic, classy and luxurious. I also want the gray one.

I own the mini givenchy antigona & gucci marmont and i still love them to bits. Not only because of the sentimental value it holds for me but also how easy it is to match with my outfit. Me personally trend doesn’t matter, i still pay and work hard to buy these bags and will always cherish every bits of it ❤️

Mel!! When you held up the Givenchy Antigona I shrieked! I saved up for years and bought mine in navy about 3 years ago. It's my only designer bag and the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

I have and still love the Givenchy Antigona. It’s such a great minimalist style I don’t think it will ever go 100% out of style. Valentino always makes these kinds of lists, but will always be my personal aesthetic. I love anything rockstud and always have done. My collection is only small and would love to add a rockstud spike one day- Trend status irrelevant. Though I agree that fashion is cyclical and some beauties are worth holding on to x

I agree! I am a Valentino Rockstud lover! I just love it and will not part ways with anything from my collection. I've done that in the past and have given away certain Gucci and Versace pieces only for the to turn around and bring them right back out.

I own that exact Celine Small 16 in the white pebbled leather. I love it so much! I think it's one of the most beautiful bags available. It's so nice to see it on your channel because I never see anyone carry it. Such an understated, underrated chic and classy bag. It fits my minimalist style so perfectly. I find it fun to own a luxury style like this that no one else has.

I reach out for my jumbo way more than I reach for my medium even. it fits everything, I have it in black with SHW so it looks casual and edgy, I love it. I didn’t expect to love it and use it as much as I do. the crazy part is out of the whole chanel line up i gravitate towards either the jumbo or the WOC the most. I hardly ever use my mini or medium

I have bags from 10,15,20 years way back, and I still use them. They're not designer, though...this video of yours is an awakening in our overly "fashion-conscious" times. Don what you love and what looks good on you...to each her own. Much love!

I have an LV Speedy 25 that was my first luxury purchase and I have had it since 1988!!! Everyone thinks it’s a silly out of style, but I use it all the time. Will be with me forever and looks great

First of all i dont think anything will be out of style if you really love your bag. dont buy for style but buy what you really like. who know one day it will become a hit again. I remember i hated the Antigona when it it first came out because it was soooo common and everyone is wearing it, lots of brand also 'inspired' from it. but then since it is out of style, i suddenly fall in love with it and plan to buy one.

Classical bags are never go out of style, and as a normal girl like me, I mean not a blogger not a celebrity, I really don’t care about my bags are in or out of style at all.

The Chanel Jumbo is never out of style in my eyes. It is gorgeous esp on ladies who are taller or bigger frame. The chain length (shoulder) is perfect! And the Chanel Gabrielle is another perfect bag to me - it’s silhouette is totally different from other bags - it’s a keeper. The pochette metis and Kate tassle bags are super nice to me. All these are my favourite.

completely agree - i'm tall and I feel like the jumbo on me is comparable to a medium on a smaller girl. they're both gorgeous bags and especially well made if they're vintage :)

I’m 5’8 in flats so the jumbo for me all the way. Also I see a ton of medium and small flaps here in LA so having the jumbo is becoming a bit more unique 👌

Hi Mel, love this video ! So relaxing & less stress. I don't own any of this, but I do own a black Diorama studded n still love it. I know Dior has discontinued it, I did worry of it being out of style, but so thankful after this video. Who cares😏 right!!

I think my style is always a little dated, I never feel very "trendy" so I definitely relate to this video all over the place! I was late to the Givenchy Antigona trend, not buying mine until about 2018 but I'm still so obsessed with it. I also recently purchased a pre-loved Miu Miu Dahlia bag that hasn't been in stores for years but I had always wanted and couldn't afford at the time. I love rocking it now even though no one knows what it is. On top of that -- the jumbo is the only size Chanel classic flap I'd even consider purchasing, and the YSL Kate is on my wishlist!

The Kate is the most perfect bag to me, I love it so much that I own three. It was my first luxury bag that I purchased 3 years ago as a high school graduation gift to myself and no matter what other styles and brands I add to my collection, I always have to get another Kate every year 😃 Definitely agree that while this bag is more dressy it can be worn casual. I’m an extremely casual dresser and wear mine all the time, although I don’t own any in mock croc or with the tassel. Love it so much though in practically any variation, glad to see others who still enjoy theirs 😄

I love my Valentino medium rockstud bag. I bought it for 40% off in a dark olive color and it is surprisingly quite neutral. I love the way the rockstuds glisten in the sun and this bag is so fun to style casually. It’s such a unique design with the handle.

Love the marmont and it’s a quite fair priced alternative to the classic flap. Let’s face it everyone wants the classic flap but not everyone can have it, so us who just can’t have it well we go for alternatives in different budgets and I find the marmont a gorgeous alternative and love the heart on the back. Many are anti heart and many love the heart I’m in the ones who loved heart

This was like a breath of fresh air. I am so over being lectured on what is in fashion and what is not. I am getting too old to have any time for most of that. I know what I like and what looks good on me and that’s all that matters. I really like all of the bags you showed, except for the Valentino which I have never liked. It seems to me that as far as the luxury brands are concerned, classic, structured bags are out and sloppy, loud, vulgar and frankly weird bags are in. But not with me, I love a classic, structured bag and I don’t think they will ever be totally out of fashion no matter how many KZreadrs and Instagramers say they are. I still see plenty out in the real world. Of the ones you showed I have two Pochette Métis’s in empriente, one black and one pink and they are brilliant bags and not going anywhere. You also mentioned the Prada Galleria. I have the earlier version, the Saffiano Lux, and that is also a keeper. Yes, it looks like a work bag and it is my work bag and the best one I have ever had. I also love the Gucci Marmont and have one on my wish list still. I have been waiting for the preloved price to go down. They held their value for so long but they are starting to get down to what I am willing to pay now, so hopefully I will get one of those soon.

Hi Mel. My husband purchased the Gabrielle bag as a Christmas gift for me last year. I have never loved it. For me, at 4’11”, the chains are heavy and cumbersome. I wish I would have exchanged it for the Classic flap.

I have the small Antigona ,Chanel jumbo same color as yours, Valentino rockstud ,2 of the LV pochette Métis in monogram and empreinte leather and YSL in croc embossed with tassel in red.I don’t buy bags to sell it,it doesn’t matter if it’s out of style according to the most people. I am keeping it all. Love it😁😍

I agree with the Chanel jumbo, I don’t think it’s that big but it’s not the bag I gravitate too. None the less I’m still happy I brought the Chanel jumbo and will never let it go. In my opinion I think the Chanel boy bag is not a popular bag in season to wear, I’m contemplating to sell it but I still use it more than my classic flaps because it’s more casual and less worry to wear out. The Chanel CF Jumbo is still one of the bags that can take easily my heart with out breaking a sweat if not for the Hermes BKC.

I just purchased the Givenchy mini antigona in croc. I know I don’t see it at all in the city I live but I’m okay with that. The bag looks amazing. I need a top handle bag and I don’t feel like getting the alma bb because everyone has it. I have other Louis Vuitton and YSL bags but the Givenchy is a low key bag.

I just got a chanel jumbo from the resale market and so agree and love the size and the price! It is certainly a good time to pick up classics at a fraction of the price! TFS mel!

We are all constantly made aware of the latest designs & trends for the season, so we get excited for it & start looking out to buy. I bought the 30 year older version of the pochette Métis added a twilly to the handle to make it a little more feminine and get comments on it every time I wear it. Wear what you like and give it your own pizazz and every one will appreciate it. I want the Antigone that opens without a zipper, I think it will never go out of style.

Hang on to all the bags you’ve bought. When you bought them for a reason because you loved it. Everything comes around again. For 2023 bags are HUGE literally gigantic, look at the Chanel 22 or the YSL a small child could fit in them! Now the tiny bags are “out’ just hang onto what you loved when you bought it! So glad I never sold 3 XXL caviar grand shopper bags. Still so stunning!

I own most of the bags you featured, except for the Celine and LV Pochette Metis. Wouldn’t dream of selling my bags either. I have learnt one thing the last 20 years, and that is that the styles always come back. I have happily shopped my closet for the longest time the recent years.

I love your understated Celine bag. It looks feminine. I still enjoy my jumbo Chanel but never reach for it, maybe because it is heavy - which leads me to the LV Pochette Metis. It's super light weight, fits all my essentials with room to spare and is super low maintenance.
