10. Once Upon A December - Anastasia

Музыка

This is a reprise performed by Deana Carter
Lyrics:
Dancing bears, painted wings,
Things I almost remember
And a song someone sings,
Once upon a December
Someone holds me safe and warm
Horses prance through a silver storm
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory
(Instrumental Interlude)
Someone holds me safe and warm
Horses prance through a silver storm
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory
Far away, long ago
Glowing dim as an ember
Things my heart used to know
Things it yearns to remember
And a song
Someone sings
Once upon a December

Best version hands down. That flamenco guitar solo in the middle is stunning.

I watched this movie when I was three on CD and we shifted shortly, leaving the CD behind. Hearing this song is the only memory I had of this film for a long time. Now, almost twenty years later, I finally got to watch the film again and wow

Wow, her voice is so soft and quiet for such an instrumentally loud song.

I love the balalaika at the ending, it's really bittersweet as to what really happen to the Romanov dynasty! May they RIP!

it was a very smart jab at balalaika - I agree (now that I think about it - it might have been an actual balalaika used for a solo)

You know,if there were ever a live action remake(based on the film itself),the best celebrity singer I could imagine singing this song is P!nk.She has such a divine voice for this, and we must prove it.

I don't understand if this song is ment to be a sad one because of the way its sung and the lyrics, or a good one because this is the one that reunited her with her family... Its such a calm song though, good to listen to when you are in a soul searchy mood.

I love the movie and soundtrack to Anastasia since my childhood I loved this movie when I was 7 years old I know all the words to once upon a December my birthday is December 19th. This song is so heartwarming, and romantic I would dance with a beautiful girl to this song even if she's a princess, or like Anastasia it's 2018 and I still love Anastasia and this song.

I've been obsessed with the guitar solo in the middle for ages. Whenever I read a book, and someone is described as playing the guitar, I imagine that solo.

Gonna sound super nerdy, but there are two versions of this song used in the film. The one you have is the lullaby sung by the Dowager Empress. This is an arrangement of the one Anya sings in the empty palace ballroom. They're both awesome! :)

Very cool intrumentals and a good singer but she stays at a plateau through the whole song even when the music escalates. Only thing that I think hinders the song.
