if there doing same thing like they did with Legends Arceus there are going to be two spin off pokemon games call pokemon x2 and y2 for switch

Legends Arceus was about Hisui becoming the Sinnoh region we know from the regular games and drew some inspiration from the real history of Hokkaido. So if Z-A really ends up being about Lumiose city being re-developed into its modern version like Paris was in the 1800's, I think it'll be safe to say that the Legends series is about the history, or "LEGENDS", of known Pokemon locations, using real world historical events relevant to their design origins as inspiration.

1:30:35 I think it’s important to know that being able to carry your Pokemon with you is a recent invention. You could access your boxes from your backpack in Sword and Shield, then you had the pasture in Arceus. So as long as Z-A is in the past, Pokémon are probably going to have to be kept in a facility.

On the topic, i think the theme of ZA seems to be in the future in general. Like the past themed cuts are reffering to the original XY's Lumiose and the whole rebuild stuff has to do with the present!

​@@Kutsobill I don't think that is the case since the goal of the redevelopment is to make Lumiose city a place for both people and Pokémon, but in XY, it already is. We don't see any issues with people and pokemon living together in Lumiose.

Paris is famous for the 180 miles of catacombs that exist beneath it, so far have only been explored roughly 5 stories deep, but scans have shown they go deeper. There's resistance in the exploration of it too, so of course, there's many stories, conspiracy theories, local folklore, etc. I'll be absolutely mindblown if Pokémon doesn't do something with that.

I'm mostly excited about shiny hunting. I loved the shiny noise in Arceus and I pray they bring it back to legends Z

It might be time for the community to address this question: what is really "Legends"? My answer would be this: an already planned x chapters series that progressively portraits the cultural evolution of the Pokèmon world from early form of civilization (Hisui) to the modern day (Kanto). The main narrative themes will be 4: human-Pokèmon bonding; the development of technological means to interact with the creatures; the contrast between natural vs artificial environment; lastly, a touch on prehistory. Z-A will be chapter 2 in this sense and in my view can't be the last, so the x is at least 3.

Legends games are about the story's that take place in the pokemon world nothing to do with main stories. it can be in the past or it can be a story in the future that's it...one game doesn't mean all games will be in the past we no nothing let's just wait and see

Its always a good time when Jake is on!

Over the weekend I bought Legends: Arceus and I’ve been having lots of fun with it. But there are some things that I do hope will be improved for Z-A. Of course some of them might not be in the game at all because the environment. Like having to go back to the village just to go to a different section of the game, not the most fun. Also hopefully since we’re in a city, all the Pokemon won’t be as aggressive. Because like, the Crimson Mirelands? A nightmare to run through, everything wants to kill you.

It would be cool, if there is time travel, that what you do in the past, will affect the future. Like starting construction on a building in the past, means it’ll be there in the future. Or halting the construction of a building leads to a new path in the future.

Finally someone agrees with me that GF is great at character design. Game Freak is good at focusing on important stuff while sacrificing things I can not care less about like performance and some visual aspects.

As for my top 10 story-related ideas for the Legends ZA, they are: 1: Travel and battle to learn about the lore, culture, areas and then the resources about the Legends ZA’s Kalos Region as well as the additional built ups and the foreshadows. In return, we will eventually move on for the next Pokémon Legends Games and the Present Day Era-themed Main Pokémon Games including the DLCs and then the Remakes upon doing so. 2: Mega-Evolution and Bond Phenomenon should majorly influence the story writing-themed plot devices’ formulas of Legends ZA, the same goes for the new potential Transformation forms of the Kalosian Legendary Pokémon and Volcanion. 3: More Main Story-related side quests’ tasks including the jobs before progressing to the Main Story missions’ tasks+jobs as well as the mini-games during the middle of building the Kalos Region and its areas in order to build homes for humans and Pokémon alike 4: We need more Trainers and the relatives of the Kalosian+XY Games’ fictional cast to buff and influence the story and gameplay respective ways of Legends ZA 5: Hoopa’s Rings should be the ones to majorly influence and summon Pokémon for the story ways and the non-story ways of Legends ZA 6: We need the special story challenges’ tasks from Legends ZA that are inspired and then similar to the Gym Leaders, Elite 4 and Champion’s respective battles’ tasks 7: The Kalosian trains built in Legends ZA should allow us to head off to the other places and locations including the unseen Southern Kalos 8: If Legends ZA finally becomes the first Legends game to actually and then finally have the DLC Story era, we will be ready for it 9: In case if Legends ZA has a special main story side quest mission arc upon nearly completing the Legends ZA’s Kalos Pokédex 10: We need more villains in Legends ZA in the story from the start to the end even within the middle of the Post-Game ways and then the After Post-Game ways regarding the potential origins of how Team Flare was potentially and then originally formed especially with the relatives from Legends ZA

11:55 So here's the thing, Jake. While you and I have played many many other franchises that have done this well individually within their own franchises (Final Fantasy, Assassins Creed, insert open world game here) - the part I struggle with is this is still a game freak game. With that in mind the likelihood of them expanding their concepts and scope outside of what we saw from Jubilife Village in PLA is probably slim. To sum it up quickly and not make it a novel - we want Lumiose City to be as thriving as a the scenes from Rhyme City in the Detective Pikachu movie (just the life of the city not the plot) but in reality we're probably getting something very scaled back from that. The hype cycle will likely be better than the finished product. The problem here is this is officially coming to Nintendo Switch and not being developed with new hardware in mind. It will probably be playable on Nintendo's next gen console but not meant to take advantage of those system's features. So in all - I expect this to be more focused on the pokemon and story missions - rather than making Lumiose City this sprawling master piece of exploration. Gamefreak would need to make that their overall focus and I can see them doing that in subtle ways rather than a mind blown expansion.

Remember Az was granted immortality when he brought his Floette back to life - which was when the machine was "The Life Restoration" machine prior to being the Ultimate Weapon. However his target was still Lumiose City and that blast would still destroy everyone there/the entire region while they would be safe in the Geosenge Bunker lab. The machine only grants immortality if you are exposed to the firing - not if the blast hits you on its descent. During that time you would just be vaporized. Y it follows a similar theme. The concept was immortality for a few so they could go on to create a "beautiful world."

I imagining and kind of hoping that the "Not leaving Lumiose" will mean the city is like Haven City from Jak II and Jak 3. Huge, divided into different districts, there's spots outside the wall that still say you're within Haven City that different environments. There's sewers and then catacombs are explored in the the third game. It's completely possible to make a city feel like a whole region/world, just depends on Game Freak's execution.

Trickywi deserves credit for the crafting mechanic and social links. She came up with that way back in the day.

I feel like Bloodmoon Ursaluna was Gamefreak’s way to reintroduce “Paradox” pokemon separate from the story of SV. Jake is right to keep them in mind, we could easily see new “legendary” single stage versions of old Pokemon. Imagine something like Reborn Heliolisk or Awakened Noivern. Some kind of unique tag before the name on Mons from Kalos. Just an idea.

Post ORAS I don't think they'd ever purposefully limit your options in a non school setting.

That is not true because Japan is mad about the androgynous character designs that you can not even make the boy player wear a skirt. Japan loves school uniforms that are _sex dimorphic,_ and being able to see the characters wearing different clothes. That is why school uniforms work in anime. XY managed to be better by having the uniform pieces.

I feel like Mega Jynx supposedly being that far in its development and still getting scrapped makes it less likely to actually happen cause like at that point why not just put it in? It probably got veto'd last minute due to Jynx being controversial or something.

PLA went for an old painting style. I'd like gamefreak to experiment with PLZ-A, i'd like to see them do this game like color pencil or sketch style.

It is named Z A. I feel like arcues is going to be in there probably similar to legands arcues.

(Ex: The two cores for zygarde, maybe even the bond phenomenon Greninja legend in the ninja village). On that note I also wonder if Ash Greninja will be in this game. Curious on your thoughts.

Having the same clothes and hairstyles for both the boy and girl players to pick makes the boy or girl option pointless. XY has the best custom clothes, Generation 7 has the best custom colors, LPE has the best even clothes numbers on both the boy and girl players, and LA has the best custom Japanese clothes. The 4 mentioned should come back like the V-Neck Tee and Logo T-Shirt making a reappearance.
