Polar bears are scary. No fear. No inhibitions.

The Sloth Bear kills more people annually than all the other bear species put together although the figure is distorted somewhat by the fact it lives in India were there are a lot of humans to encounter.Thus the Sloth Bear is generally classified as the most dangerous bear to humans.

They kill around 12 people a year, in a country of a billion people (it was really hard to even find this rough statistic because of the increase). With roughly 1778 attacks each year. North America had 183 (21 of which had been fatal) grizzly bear attacks in a 15 year period, with about 20 each year. NA has about 576 million people. Sloth bears are more aggressive. But les powerful based on percentage of attacks/fatalaties.

I had no clue there were 10 types of bears. I agree the Sloth bear should be ranked above the sun and maybe in the top 5

Yeah, I thought the same thing. In fact, I’ve heard many sources cite the sloth bear as the third most dangerous bear (after the polar bear & brown bears). Sloth bear maybe smaller than both American & Asiatic black bears but they possess a much worse temperament. And of course, the huge, lengthy claws they have for digging up termite mounds double as lethal, killing blades against human beings.

I would have mentioned the Kamchatka subspecies of the brown bear, the largest on record is at 1480 pds, the average for the male adults is around 900 -1000... Almost on par with the Kodiak beasties.

If they average 900 - 1000 that's more close to ussuri brown bears or Yellowstone Grizzlies which average around 900 lbs, an average Kodiak is 1500 lbs where the largest Kodiak found was 2000 lbs, there's still quite a size diff there.

Also, I think the Kamchatka, commonly known as the eastern brown bear should be at least top 5 as it can weigh anywhere from 900 to 1400 lbs. Aswell as being the most powerful bear in all of Eurasia

NOT... Kodiak is the largest and most powerful. Even though grizzlies are smaller than polar bears they are more aggressive and usually get the best of the polar bears they encounter.

I know someone who scalp was ripped off by a sloth bear, I’ve also seen one in the wild. They are definitely in the top 5 at least. They are hard to see in their environment and leap from trees to hunt

In Kodiak bear vs Polar bear, U mentioned kodiak bear will win. But now u just saying polar bear is stronger. Polar bear is strong only in their habitat only. Because they mostly tired quickly in warmer place. Kodiak Bear vs Polar bear is similar to Bengal tiger vs Siberian Tiger

Exactly my thoughts Edwin!! and i think this guy is bias towards Lions and favors Tigers on all of his Lion vs Tiger vids, btw, the Spectacled Bear the largest weighed was 200Kgs, (on average are 115Kgs), and the largest weighed Sloth Bear was 195Kgs (but they're way aggressive than others and can fight off Tigers sometimes and on average are 120-160Kgs), the largest weighed Sun Bear was 90Kgs (and on average are 45-70Kgs), the largest Asiatic Black Bear was 225Kgs (but on average are 135-200Kgs) So... i think Sloth Bears should be at 6th or 7th, but this guy puts them at 9th 😂 just because they face Tigers 😂

My ranking of strongest to least strongest bears: 1: Short faced bear (preistoric bear) 2: Polar bear 3: Kodiak brown bear 4: Grizzly bear 5: American black bear 6: Asian black bear 7: Sloth bear 8: Spectacled bear 9: Sun bear 10: Giant panda

No, they are distinct subspecies of the brown bear.

Grizzly bears are not subspecies of brown bears they are the same species.. they only live at diffrence locations.

It is a distinct subspecies from the grizzly - as for 'brown bear', that can refer to any brown bear subspecies, not only the grizzly. So 'same thing' as a blanket statement is nonsense too - grizzly, not grisly

Sloth bear is more insectivorous eating only ants and termits while giant pandas feed primarily on bamboo leefs. And the remaining 5 species of bears are the most omnivorous by feeding on a mixed diet of plants and meat.

Why would the smallest and least aggressive bear be higher than pandas and sloth bear?? Pandas may be docile but they’re very powerful

Sad that all these animals are disappearing
