well… in this list, there were only 3 players where Sir Alex highly rated. 3/10 in 26 years of managing, and hundreds of other academy graduates. Zeki Fryers ruined his own career by leaving Sir Alex who rated him. Macheda also didn’t listen to Sir Alex’s advice to stay in England. Ravel Morisson had bad infuences off the pitch. Your comment is so misleading.

Not exactly. Let's not forget Gerrard Piqué, remember he was a part of United's youth system. Jonny Evans wasn't the greatest, but had a decent career. Same as the Da Silva twins, but they just peaked too soon. It was anyways clear most of them wouldn't be superstars like the likes of Beckham. Rashford and Welbeck also deserve mentioning.

It shows you what's wrong with a huge part of the club's fanbase. Overhyping the average then calling for their heads when they don't deliver. Sad but true.

Football media at it's worst, singling out individuals who've done nothing worse than perhaps not reach their full potential. How would you feel if you were one of these people? I'd rather be Macheda and have scored that classic goal than be the person who came up with this nonsense.

I knew a guy growing up who gave his son the middle name macheda after that one performance. That poor kid still has the name last time checked 😂

As a Panathinaikos fan, for my club to still have Federico Macheda ... a former football player, it excruciating to burn money on this guy, he doesn't even belong in the league at the first place. Time for him to go to Turkey or China

Other than the busby babes and class of 92, our academy hasn't produced any top players. Especially in recent years. Our academy being great is a myth based on our history. We will never replicate the teams of the 60s and 90s and the sooner we realise this the better.

Now you have to do the best 10 United academy graduates or ones who met their or exceeded their potential

I've heard Mancs calling Rashford better than Killian Mbappe as little as two years ago. Also United fans love a good high potential rating in Fifa. So much so that it installs fake memories in their brains. When a sixteen year old Angel Gomes got one of the highest potential ratings in the game you'd never even heard the guys name the day before that game was released. The day after however everyone was enchanted by stories from their United fan friends of how they'd been following the lads career for years by watching him play in the youth team.

He wasn’t overhyped, was literally thrown into an injury hit squad last minute and immediately impressed. Think he’ll be more a player that will peak too early and drop off, definitely wasn’t overhyped as he was consistently impressive for about 4-5 years

Makes sense really. When you look at the attitudes of Pogba, Lingard, Ravel Morrison, etc, it’s no wonder they didn’t work out. Where as McTominay and Williams will be very handy squad players at Utd, despite not being mega stars

Who is overhyping Elanga? He's decent and he works hard, which more than you can say for the rest of the squad so he gets in the team, and that's about it. No-one's out here calling him the next great united player.
