I spent 2.5 weeks in Bogota, Colombia (and surrounding area) when I was 16. Despite it being well-known for drug crime, we were fine. It wasn't until riots broke out due to income and politics, that our safety became a concern. Ultimately, my team and I had to rescued by the Colombian military. It was quite eventful! Even so, it's a beautiful place to visit!

This is so stupid, I’m living 40 km away from Cape Town and have been to the Mother City many many times in my life, have never ever been feeling unsafe, never. The people of South Africa have been trying to uplift our country for many years and we are so tired of all the negative media rapport. EVERY city in the world have unsafe areas. Tourists on the whole don’t go to these areas. Cape Town is still one of the most exciting and beautiful places to visit, with friendly people, amazing hotels and restaurants as well as great things to see and do. And relatively cheap for tourists from America, England and Europe. And just for the record, the people of Bangkok Thailand are friendly and it is a GREAT city to visit, I have been there for about 20 times and have never felt unsafe.

There's only been one; Dunblane massacre, in March 1996. Apart from that there's only been one terrorist attack and they failed (Glasgow Airport attack). Peru got rid of the terrorism Sendero Luminoso in 1992 So it’s been more than 20 years without that issue ( info should be updated). Peru has delinquency as any Latin American country but touristic areas are pretty much safe , no only Macchu Picchu , Lima , Arequipa, Trujillo etc etc as long as pple go to touristic areas and play no chances. I know because I take groups there and so far it’s been so good 👍

CC-4142 Lock My insight only extends to Mexico and Nicaragua...I spent many summers there, not as a tourist...in the regular community areas visiting family. For the most part it wasn't peachy at all, but it was practically just a matter of making sure you didn't stand out.

I was in Peru 5 years ago. We drove in locked cars with a experienced guide and only walked around in "good safe places". Never in teh slums or anything like that. Its the most beautiful country i ever have seen and Machu Picchu is magnificent.

Peru is fine I did go to Machu Piccu .... worth the trip.

I've been to almost all these places and never had a problem and rarely felt unsafe. I was just in India, Peru, and Colombia and felt safe all the time! I've travelled extensively and only had real problems in Amsterdam and Toronto! The police in Toronto refused to help me! Surprised.

I stay in Mumbai and it is safe even if a women travel alone at 3 in night ...

Peru hasn't had terrorist problems since the 1980's and also had major cities through out the coast. Drug cartels are in the northern rural area or even in the boarding countries. Also Machu Pichu isn't the the only source of tourism like you made it seem. Do more research before a video is made next time, I'm sure more people from or that have background from the counties/cities mentioned feel misrepresented too.

I don't agree. I've lived in Haiti, have visited the Dominican Republic, and Cape Town. There is basic stuff to know and avoid before your travels, but that simply requires common sense for security. Top dangerous tourist destinations in the world? I think there is worse.

actually it's both dangerous and safe if you come here and how long do you stay in thailand? and how often do you come here? visiting isn't the same as being born there you know, I got plenty of painful memories since I got my sanity (and no, this isn't just for my country, all others also have bad things) like this one time when I was a kid and a new student who is half thai and british came in for some time and I discovered that he is a compulsive liar and he's very bad at it, he thinks he's cool cuz he's half british and then two blood boiling day came, the first one is about him BUYING my friend and that friend was my best friend for 3 years then one day he's just gone as if he's a greedy corrupted ass from the start and I just didn't know, and the other day is when one of my friend was masturbating in the toilet and then this bitch tapes him and shares it on facebook, instragram etc. (oops, forgot to tell that we were 15 years old back then....what? it's common to masturbate at that age) luckily that friend of mine was a born fighter and that means he beat the shit out of that spawn of satan piece of shit from what I know, these stupid things happen only in corrupted countries cuz normally the mom would typically be younger that the dad like 20 years and that's cuz the dad was a retired man and the mom is a prostitute is what normally what happens

India a dangerous country to visit? This shows you've got zero knowledge and the rest of the info about the other countries might also be incorrect..

i've visited most of those places, except for Cape Town, Haiti, Pattaya and Acapulco. The Dominican Republic is quite pacefull, Peru also, if you don't stray too far from inhabited places. I Nearly died of boredom in Rio de Janeiro, though'
