    Man it's sad to hear about lesnar's coaches. I mean it's a crime if you have athelete like Brock and you limit his potential by eliminating the most important aspect of the sport from training. It's tough to imagine how good he could've been with a better striking coach, even though it was very late for him to be a great striker because of his decision to fight so late in his career.

  • @southerndiscomfort171

    @southerndiscomfort171

    8 ай бұрын

    agreed, even if he didnt become a world class boxer learning the fundamentals of striking could have given him the knowledge to be a more defensive fighter until he can close the distance (safely) and use his wrestling. if they were trying to make him more confident they could have built it up by giving him the right tools so he was prepared in the octagon, so that's not really an excuse

    Matt Hughes (his actual “coaching”, not the entry in this list) was the biggest shocker to me when that season of TUF aired… Usually, in my personal experience and from the show itself, wrestlers usually make for *some of the very best* coaches, mainly because they know what it takes as an athlete and wrestlers _usually_ LOVE working/wrestling with and helping to improve other wrestlers.. Every high school in my city (about 11 of ‘em) has alumni wrestlers come back from college to help the team or even sign up as an assistant/Head Coach. I still go back to my old high school 15 YEARS LATER to work with the coach and kids on the team to give them pointers/advice, put in work with them on the mat, and just about *anything* I can do to help continue pumping out state champs and getting kids scholarships who otherwise never would’ve went to college… And I do it for free, as do some of my old teammates, out of love and respect for the game. That’s why Matt Hughes lack of care/respect/coaching was the biggest shocker of that whole season, even more so than people (understandably) wanting to leave to join Team Tito 😂😂😂.

    That’s interesting. It really does show how uniquely asshole-ish Matt is. Given his autobiography talks about him bullying everyone around him and making out with a 12 year old when he was 20, it’s not too surprising he is uniquely irresponsible for a wrestler
