And, yeah, Michael Pare is clearly the film's weakest link, but I don't mind him in the film when everyone else is so memorable. Plus, Tom Cruise would have been too short and too cocky for the role. Unpopular opinion: I enjoyed Connor McGregor in Road House. That doesn't mean I thought his acting was good, it wasn't. But he looked like he was having a blast making this movie and I thought he was entertaining. It's funny, I enjoyed Jake's performance because I got invested in his story and he genuinely made me believe he was Dalton. When you look at it, Jake plays a character who has some depth that you get invested in because you want to know more of his backstory and you definitely need a good actor to pull that off. Connor plays a psychopath who will kill someone and not think about it after. That character does not need depth, it just needs to be entertaining and I honestly think Conner pulled in off. Sure I had to watch the movie a couple of times to appreciate the performance, but it was fun.

Honestly I thought Brody was great in Predators, going against the steroid bodybuilder stereotype for a soldier. Also I’m not sure if Bardem’s bland performance is because he didn’t try or just because Disney’s output nowadays is just shit.

I'd have to go with the Xenomorph as my fave alien. For me, it's the one in Alien 3. Why? Because A3 was the one where it introduced the concept of the Xenos taking on features of their hosts. Yes, the FX were horrific and all, but the concept of the Xenos being _that_ adaptable fascinated me then and now.

can't believe you talked about multiple live action disney remakes and didn't mention the total dumpster fire that was will smith in alladin. i can't imagine anyone being able to replicate william's iconic turn, but will smith was just about the worst choice possible. he's so far past his expiration date that he just came off like your unfunny uncle trying to do impressions while he's drunk. every scene he was in was cringe beyond belief. honestly, the only people that might have been able to tackle that role are jack black or jim carrey, other than that, it was just a disaster waiting to happen. besides, smith was never particularly good to begin with - movies he was in that were good were usually good in spite of him, not because of him.

I blame the writers and directors for X-men movies. They neglected the comics as far as the characters go. The actor wasn’t bad, just the story changed the character.

I thought Warren was great in Reds. Hollywood always prettifies real-life people, and for a political activist, the real-life Reed was fairly handsome, if not movie-star handsome. His speech on the train about democracy brought a tear to my eye.

I think Sophie Turner did a good as Jean Grey in the X-Men franchise not like Jennifer Lawrence as Mysterique in the X-men franchises and she felt boring soulless. Not like actresses in the first three X-men movies, she was perfect felt more like the character too.

Adrian Brody trying to be "tough action hero" was painful to watch. Killed what could have been a great movie. I still enjoyed it, but Adrian was horribly miscast. Which is a shame. He is a good actor who would have been better cast in the psycho role played by Topher Grace. Although Topher was the best actor in the whole movie.

Venom was always BIG. Topher Grace in his Venom skinsuit was just too small. Tom Hardy is significantly bigger than Topher to start with, but the most crucial change they made in the Tom Hardy Venom movies, was to make the symbiote increase his mass like 2-3 times, making Venom appear to be the correct, intimidating size.

I dont think Adrian Brody's and Topher Grace's entries on here are valid. It's not that the acting was bad, they were just poorly casted. I mean Brody gave it his all in Predators, it's just him as a person wasn't right... same for Topher, you could see Topher was having a blast in his role and seemed excited about being venom.... he just wasn't the right person for it. Unlike the Joaquin Phoenix, who just seemed to lull through Napoleon or how spot on you were on Forrest whittaker... just my 2 cents

Half of these are straight grasping at straws. Adrien Brody was not bad in Predators, just not amazing. McGregor in Road House was one of the best parts and I don’t care what anyone says. Sure, he played himself basically but that was fine for me. His video game GTA strut was hilarious! And Tom Holland was not that bad in uncharted based on what they were going for. If they wanted to do a fully adult rendition of Nathan Drake finding Shamballa, yeah we would have a big problem, but obviously they wanted a little more down to earth and young story to kick everything off. I would prefer the writing get changed before the casting on that one.
