If you have a poodle or poodle mix you must pull the hair out of his ears .... its simple if you do it monthly ..... get the powder for ears and just pluck so your dog does not get ear infections and that means $$$ Vet bills ! The dog was really well behaved for such a bad matting . You did a great groom !

I loved this groom so much! I especially appreciate that you elaborate on what it’s like to be a groomer that grooms 5-7 dogs in one day. It’s a really difficult and say hard on your body/emotions type of career. But I also groom dogs and know how good it feels to help a dog and to bond with them enough that you can tell that they’re changing and getting better each groom. So props to the pet parents for trying to do better. Hopefully they learn to brush or keep their dog clipped short so that it’s happy and more sanitary. Good for their health to get groomed regularly ❤

What a handsome boy... All ready to go to the prom and none available! What a difference to him even tho he was anxious /naughty. I hope his owners ask how to brush him through or they book him in again soon and ask if they can watch. Maybe you can point them in the right direction of a 'how to' video. His poor inner ears that must have been so uncomfortable with those big plugs of hair and momentarily sore having it removed. I love his ears after their clipping and trimming, they are so cute. Thank you so much! They actually have two of these dogs. The other one was in worse shape but they got him groomed somewhere else. I had a long talk with them about proper care. I think they got overwhelmed with getting two at the same time.

I'm surprised that the owners of the poodle mixes don't know the basic care like ears! I had a cockapoo for 15+ years and did ear cleaning weekly. Plus I would comb her and comb her eyes to get rid of the crust.

Thanks for another great video. Yes, it appears he has been groomed in the past, which is sad that at this young of age he has to be shaved. I am guessing pet parent(s) do no brushing, only bathing which makes for more/tighter matting...yes, the type coat he has contributes to it too. Don't think his licking you is a sign of affection---maybe because of being unsure and figuring out what his next move is going to be--like when you see a dog yawning at a time when it has nothing to do with being sleepy. He is super hyper/reactive to everything along with needing more training--again owners not doing their job. Hope they get him neutered. And yes dogs can react the way you describe after being shaved and you know as soon as you return them to a cage. Owners don't realize this and if dog is one who hides when returning home, owners are probably thinking--what did the groomer do to my dog. Agree in watching GWTD videos, shows some things only up to a certain point. You show what it is really like, good, bad and ugly. Thanks again for sharing.

Thank you so much! Tbh, whatever works. I e gone through so many dremels. The one in this video doesn’t even work anymore and I only had it for a month. Generally the dremel brand is pretty good. This one must have been a defective one. Most groomers use one from Lowes hardware

The whole beginning of this video I kept thinking she better win this battle of wills if she doesn’t that dog is going to turn into a nightmare to groom, personally if it was my dog knowing what a potential problem that behavior could grow into I would lay down the the law hard and quickly so the dog knows exactly what is expected of him, but you can’t do that because everyone is hyper sensitive these days

🤣🤣🤣 thanks! Yes, the sensitivity level that has grown these days are ridiculous. That’s why I try and tell people, they are DOGS and they don’t process things like we do. Smh they never understand

Commenting before I am finished watching. The dog reacting even when you aren't in the process of the groom, it could be that they are reacting to the new sensation of having the mats removed. I have noticed that dogs flinch when tightening the folds of skin, because the mats are being pulled from further away, or the skin is sore from the tight matting. I have also seen your confidence in handling situations that arise has greatly increased. Also, when using a dremmel that heats up quickly, don't keep in contact with the nails from more than 2 seconds because it gets so hot. Try on your own natural nails, when close to cuticles it hurts. If you notice most podiatrist use water with the dremmel so it doesn't burn. Please do not take any of this wrong, I am just commenting my observations. You may already know these things, but it may help another viewer. Here is my opinion for what it is worth, doodle breeders need to demonstrate proper grooming to new owners. If started young and with gentle corrections, grooming time is a relaxing and bonding time. TY for helping educate the owners of the pups , young and old, that you groom.

I tried to clip the nails close so I didn’t have to dremel that long and I try not to have it lay on the quick much because I don’t wanna make them bleed. Fun fact, that dremel actually stopped working lol. I had it for two months 🙃🤣 so I’m currently shopping for a new dremel lol. No problem! And thank you! I always enjoy reading your comments!!
