I always measure the length of the linkage rod as soon as I drop the lower just in case it gets turned in the process. Just a recommendation.

Pacman Au Doesn't hurt to use it, but if you are replacing all the parts including the housing and base plate, then you shouldn't need any.

hey quick question I have a 1993 30 hp ELS and today did the water pump removal and install all seemed fine but starter wont crank motor? bat has juice, starter spins flywheel fast with plugs out. prop and flywheel will turn manually in drive but it is not easy. I can shift from F-N-to reverse, do you think the driveshaft be misaligned? It would break your arm trying to pull a rope manually in neutral. I should have tried to start it before doing the repair.

try dropping the lower unit and then starting the motor without the "foot" on it. That will at least narrow it down to a powerhead or gearcase problem

My dear friend, the exhaust muffler of the 30 hp evinrude eteceh engine was shattered in the middle. Will it cause any harm? Will the engine start

what about that sound that you talked about in the beginning of the video? I have the same sound when turning my propeller on my 75hp etec 2005. someone who knows?

Who cares about how someone's voice sounds like? What does that have to do with the video? I'd rather spend the extra money and have my mechanic do this. Pain in the butt. LoL. Certainly is a mess of a engine shaft and I can't believe he wouldn't take care of basic cleaning to make it look good. He takes all that time just to replace the impeller but can't take any time to keep it nice and clean. What a mess!!

dude your boat is filthy cover that up

Clean it up well before you start, just to show some respect. Also, tightening the aluminum unit into a vase without some type of protection tells me your not a tradesman.
