The video erred. It is not a gasoline engine, It is powered by a diesel engine. Even though there is a Cadillac logo on the vehicle, it is not all Cadillac. The power train and chassis are a modified GMC 3500 truck. The body panels and interior are made by Cadillac.

This video is actually full of random estimates and guesses. No one knows the MPG it gets, or even what it's powered by-- especially the "new Beast"-- that the video claims to be about. And the cost was a complete guess too. They probably took the R&D figure (which is actually a mystery to begin with) and divided by the claimed number of Beasts (10), which gives you $1.5m per vehicle. But to anyone who knows anything about how money is spent on government defense projects, I'd say they underestimated by at least a factor of 10x. They would need a team of expert cost accountants to even come close to a real figure, and hose accountants salary would be allocated to the car as well.

It actually has a GM Duramax diesel engine. Diesels are more fuel efficient and importantly is far less volatile than petrol (gasoline) engines and it is available in more places around the world. It also allows the use of jet fuel (kerosene) in an emergency if diesel is unavailable.
