10 Life Hacks I Actually Use

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Today, I'm going to show you a bunch of tips and tricks I use every day. This video is not really meant to be useful or helpful, only entertaining. Enjoy it, and probably don't put a 9V battery on your tongue. I normally wouldn't even post a video like this, but between the injury and the baby it's all I can get out right now!

It's honestly playing with fire. All it takes is an errant elbow and now you have a dead battery appearing charged. They should do it the other way around so if they accidentally knock over a charged battery then the worst that will happen is they try to recharge a charged battery

Here's a tip for when you're winding rope or any sort of cable. if you want to extend the life of your power cords and want to easily throw the bundle to uncoil it, you should use the roadie wrap, it's hard to explain in a comment but I recommend looking up a video on how to do it. it'll make your cables and rope coils look neat and prolong the life of your electrical cables (really any cable in general) and keep them from coiling when you try to lay them out flat.

I do that with my guitar cables - they always end up fucked lmao

  • 3 жыл бұрын

I stagehand (well usesd to) for a small band and have taught countless people how to over under the cable, because every musician I met absolutely mangled their cables. Never do the over the elbow thing to any signal wire, cheapo ethernet cables can handle that rough treatment like three or four times before they break.

best thing about that wrap style is that it allows you to hold one end of the cable, and then throw to coil in the direction you want to run it in. If you wrapped it right the cable will unwind neatly in a straight line.

For rope/wires I now do the "roadie wrap"! It's just wrapping it in circles, but you alternate going over or under on each pass. No knots, and when you want to unroll it you basically just toss it where you want it to go while holding one end and it fully unravels like butter. Yours might be better for transportation so it doesn't accidentally unravel, but for a dedicated garage hook or something, the roadie wrap is awesome!

bro I don't know how you keep this channel up and running with how packed your life is. I started following your content about last March-April-May (cant remember specifically when I subscribed) but got my first push to buy a MTN bike watching your channel and I was really nervous due to the medium investment (hardtail Rocky mountain growler) and I haven't regretted it (just a few set backs lol) but having seen your quality of post you not only inspired me to MTN but get into woodwork or honestly just become more organized (your garage is OCD heaven ahaha) also learning to overcome fears such a trail scares or even just pushing through mentally after injuries. Not many quality type youtubers are out there and you sir are one of them. Keep it up, you truly inspire people to be a better version of themselves.

The simplest garage hack I know- when using a strong magnet wrap it in a shop rag or paper towel so that you can slide it off with your captured item(s) without having a fouled magnet.

The trash bag thing, I dont rip the bags appart. That way, when I take out the trash, the next bag goes right up and i only have to pull it off the full one and over the bin, even faster.

Just wanted to say that I am not into mountain biking, probably will never mountain bike. I recently got a Schwinn comfort bike and looking for information about bikes in general stumbled upon the channels. I find them informative and entertaining. A lot of the information carries over to comfort bikes I feel. My bike has a suspension fork, suspension seat post and mountain bike style handlebars and so on and so forth. Watching your videos made upgrading my bike and fixing up my wife's bike easy with the knowledge I gained from watching your channels. I still need to acquire some tools and figure out a good place to work on our bikes, but enjoying it so far. Wife's bike is and old Mongoose mountain bike. I changed out the tires from the knobby style to more of a street gravel style tire. Changed out the twist shifters, they were hard for her to shift, and installed Shimano trigger shifters. I just replaced the bars with Dimension aluminum 60mm riser bars for her comfort. Looking forward to catching up on all your videos. Just caught up here on the Express channel. Thanks for letting us ride with you!

As a sailor, I commend your rope trick. Small bit of advice for using 3-strand rope: coil it clock-wise. Doing this works with the twist in the rope and completely takes away the potential of it kinking up on you. Ride-on!
