    great fish, hard work following the legend "John Wilson" but Martin is doing (or has done) a very good job and I enjoy watching his videos.

    Carp have scales, Tench are green and slimey, There is also golden tench, 10lb is a good size for a tench, I doubt very much there is tench in the usa but there may be similar, Tench put up a good fight, fun to catch up there with river barbel !!

    No Sir. The Carp (Cyprius Carpio Sp) is a differnet fish altogether from the Tench(Tinca Tinca).

    Lovely fish...but why weren't you using barbless?

  • @willst290

    @willst290

    Because barbless do more damage to the fish than a barbed hook does, things should be banned especially when barble fishing. Next time you see a dead fish,place a barbless hook in its lip and pull the line like you're playing it and watch its move and tear the lips. Least with a barbed hook u can be assured it stays in one place, get the fish in safely and any sense pull the hook through. Put me off barbless years ago seeing barble coming off in weed going belly up down the river and the damaged lips.
