Test drive is mainly for : seating comfort in driving seat, road view, blind spots , vehicle response - steering , braking , body roll, road feed back , all this and some more to your style of driving . Response is crucial in the first few days before one adapts to the vehicle . If seating comfort and proper road view can not be , drop the car from your options . Next , keeping the family in view , rear seat comfort. Finally, boot size and fuel type.

CLA is derived from entry level A class, so you have to compromise on rear space, spare wheel occupying boot space and performance. There are goodies as well including frameless windows, sloping roofline & Merc's timeless interiors & fuel centric 2L diesel motor. Depends on your preferences :)
