Great video. What drone would you recommend for a begginier looking to do real estate drone work?

Matthew, Very helpful. I just shot a video of a hotel I'd stayed at last week not intending to sell it. But I happen to show it to the hotel manager and he offered me to pay me right on the spot. Its exciting to see all the possibilities. thank you for the info.

Really nice man , I have a question did you edit the video that you showed or only the shot pictures ?

I bought my mini 2 as the cost of getting scaffolding to check a house roof I was thinking of buying out was more expensive and way slower. It paid for itself immediately as the roof wasn’t great . Id been looking for an excuse to buy a drone for ages! Great video thanks.

Great use of a drone, I used a friends one to inspect my own roof so I knew what the issue was before I got roofers in. They then tried to claim the issue was bigger than it was... Once I showed them the drone footage showing two loose tiles... they suddenly came up with an ''option b'' for repairing the roof!!! Needless to say I sent them on their way and got someone else to do it, but it saved me 3 times the cost of the drone.

I just bought my Dji mini 3 first drone ever got me already registered but i'm stoked to start my film carriere so i'll be capturing the unboxing and usage aswell! So stoked! Great video. I won a Mini 2 at an event, and have really been enjoying learning to fly it. I hadn't even thought of trying to upload some of my footage for stock. I live in an incredibly beautiful part of the world and it's hard to take a bad shot. While the rest would take a lot of investment (mostly time) the first one I can do with what I already have and keep it a hobby. Cheers!

Love this. Thank not for some new ideas. Also could you point out what computers im you use and editors?

Roof inspection sounds great for folks like me who live in rural areas. Lots of Farms, small businesses, and older homes where drones are few and far between. One could make a lucrative gig offering easy access to out of sight areas of property. And there's not much competition.

Really helpful to new drone pilot..

I’m not trying to make money with mine but I did shoot a local bike parade and created a short 15 second reel with it. It got way more attention than I anticipated so I can understand how the right contact points can get you a paid gig.

Very relieved that you took the time, at the end, to reminded everyone about the Drone Rules. Many of these suggestions would cross a drone rule line at some point unless you have the correct qualification and know what can and can not be done with your particular drone (the weight limitation). MANY good suggestions here though. The mapping one is interesting, but because it's currently considered "niche" it can be mind-numbingly expensive.

How is the DJI 3 pro? Been debating about that for some car shoots but I’ve never owned a drone. I also need a better video camera (thinking sony zv-e10 vs e1 vs a7iv) and wondering if thats the better upgrade first or a drone for different shots?

liked roof inspection idea

Great video. But in Australia lots of guys are registering their drone to make money but the insurance premium is high so lots of guys are doing the drone work under the table… no insurance goes up on registering the drone… People just will not pay big prices for aerial footage unless you’re lucky to get a big company that will do it.

Drone mapping sounds interesting. Mentioned some technical things that need to be learned first. Can you or someone tell me what they are or where I could find that info?

Best of luck with your drone if you now have one. I’m ancient so maybe that’s my excuse for finding flying my recent mini3 pro a huge learning curve. Flying the thing carefully AND taking video and stills correctly exposed etc OMG. Matthews videos are so helpful though, along with others out there. I would suggest concentrating on the flying until it’s second nature and then look at camera settings with the drone just a few metres away. Great fun though. Enjoy!

Hi Mattheww, great video. I like this update to your last one. I will try aerial photography for real estate agencies. I will look into that now because I can do that over weekends or in my spare time. As for stock footage, what sites would you recommend from experience that might actually sell? I tried stock footage before but never got any sales. I am not sure what I am doing wrong there, but I will look into that again.

The best approach is to put your footage on as many of the sites as possible, instead of putting all your eggs in one basket. Hope that helps, thanks for watching.

Do your LUTs work on OpenShot or Shotcut? Also, what is the average length each clip should be? That is, should I make short 15s videos or long 2min videos or somewhere in between?

@@seupedro9924 I have not had time to put my footage up yet, I intend on doing that over the holidays. I need to edit what I have and make it interesting (and short). As for realestate, I have contacted a few agencies and they were interested, so I might get some work done on that in the near future. I will also try selling to hotels. I have made a point of filming the locations I travel to so I will edit those and try to sell to those.

I do roofing and chimney inspections. Its not bad, good money.

I was thinking of a drone to buy for my historic research, quite handy to view current locations to old aerial photos but would like to offer one of the services offered such as weddings building inspection etc, what would be a good drone to use i was thinking of a DJI mini 3 pro or a DJI Avanta, which one would be a better option for business use.
