    Not sure if someone mentioned it. Free shipping wont boost algorithm, but the customers still have the option of filtering results with the free shippong option, so that is definitely something to think about 😊

    Thanks Nick...on point as always. I listened to you for Months before opening my little store, with no great expectations to sell at dizzying rates. I focus on a niche market ( your advice), offer short shipping times ( by having products ready) and focus on customer service. Unless you stand out, in a 'flooded ' market, competing with Thousands of similar stores, people will have difficulty finding you. Add Temu to the mix, flooding social media, you have a problem 😢. As you point out...Etsy is a business...they don't care about us...its all about the $$.

    Fact #6 etsy localizing, it's possibly related to the fact that carbon credits are dying (being proved invalid frequently) in which case they couldn't possibly offset people shipping at great distances should they be challenged to. It won't happen right away but if I were them I'd be positioning for that ahead of time.

    I’ve just experienced Etsy turning down my visability, after my best ever week in my long established store I immediately had my worst ever week, including four very long days with no sales at all (this hasn’t happened in a very long time). I seem to have fixed it by turning on my ads. The actual ads didn’t bring me any sales but within two hours I had two sales of other items. Conincidence? I think not. I ran ads for three days and seem to be back to regular 4x day sales.

    I want to start a digital store on Etsy selling templates. I’ve consumed a lot of your content over the last few days and have noted your tips and suggestions. Because you recommend for digital stores to have at least 365 listings (right now I have 0), does it make sense to work with you (ie book a call) after I’ve had some listings and maybe at least a few months in? I’m also stuck on the niche. I was thinking of at least doing something during the holidays hoping to take advantage of some of the holiday consumer spending.

    Hello Nik, I have just watched about 25 videos of yours in 2-3 days. A grind similar to doing a Lord of the Rings marathon heh :) I got a question based on a combination of the facts you provided in this video. Given that there is no boost for free shipping and an alleged boost for shorter shipping times, I feel like it makes sense to upgrade shipping for all the listings and reflect the additional cost by making shipping not free but rather charging whatever amount is needed to offer the quickest shipping. Would you agree?

    I have a question that's off topic from this video. How accurate are the stat information numbers that Etsy provides? Quick explanation: I checked my shop at 2:30 a.m. (My shop resets at 12:00 a.m. my time), I checked again at 6:30 a.m., and those numbers were odd but the same. I had 26 views and no visits. No items had been looked at. At 9:30 a.m., I go into my shop and now I have 19 views and 13 visits. This happens frequently, and I don't understand. Did they take views away? Were those views not real? And how do I trust any of etsy's programs such as off-site ads or ads in general through Etsy, if their numbers aren't correct? I feel like they have no integrity. It makes me very distrustful of them, but I don't know if this is normal... And when I've put it out to groups, everybody says oh yeah that's normal but nobody has any definitive reasons as to why. What are your thoughts on this?

  • @etsyconsultant

    @etsyconsultant

    4 ай бұрын

    The stats do correct and change, this is down to Etsy making those changes. I would not even bother looking at micro stats, just concentrate on longer periods of time. As to the authenticity, I have my reservations about ads data, and how they are spending our money, I don't like the 30 day windows Etsy attributes to ad clicks leading to sales, but we can choose not to use it of course.

  • @taac968

    Hi Nick, awesome video! Quick question: How do I get visibility in relatively high competition niches? I recently created a listing for the city maps niche and I think I have a competitive offering (I've done my research), but even though I am running ads I am getting absolutely no visibility. It has been 7 days of running ads and I get around 50 ad views and 2 clicks a day...

Can you make a video about discounts? Is worth to raise your prices to set up discounts? Customer is likely to buy for 150€ - 20% rather than 100€ which is less for him? Thank you.

    I feel bad for the people falling for the Etsy courses. I hear so much garbage coming from them. People are so desperate, they don’t see that those gurus just want the views, the clicks on affiliate links, and for people to buy their over priced courses and packages. What they don’t want is the competition. They tell them to basically steal the best sellers designs, just make a small change, because they are probably showing their own best sellers. These people have no creativity, they got lucky during 2020-2021, and they think they know how Etsy works. Then, after people have followed all the advice, on their channel and in their courses, and their stores still fail, the guru will blame them, because they didn’t work hard enough. I am always recommended those videos, and I watch them, occasionally, to see what they’re saying, it’s so bad. I cant even say anything to the viewers, because, not only will the host of the channel block me, but ewetoob will, too. So, I cant even recommend your channel, because I will be blocked from commenting for a day. 🤬😂 It’s wild out here. 😂 Thanks Nick. On point, as always.

    Is it still possible to make big money on etsy?

    Hi Nika, it depends on what your figure of big money is. I manage a couple of stores that do $5 million and $7 million a year on Etsy, is that big enough?

    I hear you, I have not met or spoke to anyone who has handed over thousands of dollars for a course say that it was a good investment. I am sure some are, but I have yet to hear from anyone. I do hear a lot of complaints every month for the last 8 years though.

    Indeed, it takes a lot of hard work, and making sure your attention is not led astray down paths that bring no improvement (overpriced courses that do not work).

    @@etsyconsultant OMG, you do answer all the questions, thank you. Another question, I have another store that someone else is running it for me, it has me as the owner and the money goes into my bank account. She answers the emails . Is it possible to change the email address to me so she isn’t involved any more? She doesn’t want to do it. I have another email address so it wouldn’t be the same as the one I use for the second store and the money goes into another bank account. If this should be in a five minute conversation I would appreciate it. How do we arrange it?
