I really appreciate these conversations with Tom. You guys are a great team!
In no particular order 1 Rolex submariner 2 Rolex datejust 3 Omega Speedmaster/ moon watch 4 Patek Nautilus 5 AP Royal Oak 6 Zenith El Primero 7 Breitling Navatimer 8 Cartier Santos 9 IWC Pilot 10 JLC Reverso And yes for a bonus the Casio F91W If only one watch per brand then replace BP fiftyfathoms instead of datejust….so hard to compile a list though

Thank you, thank you, thank you for someone FINALLY including a Breitling in a watch channel episode. There is an old adage: If you want to impress someone....buy a Rolex. If you want to tell what time it is...buy a Breitling. Although Omega was the first watch on the moon, Breitling was the first watch IN space. Well played, gentlemen!

„New“ but already iconic to me are the Lange 1 and especially the Zeitwerk.
I would argue the GS and Tudor might be “emerging icons” rather than having reached iconic status. Other watches to maybe consider: - Cartier Santos, Roadster or Tortue - Blancpain FF - Omega Seamaster or Railmaster - Rolex Submariner - B Uhr type watches from Laco, Stowa, Wempe, Lange - Heuer Autavia - Panerai Luminor - Dirty Dozen / field watches such as Hamilton Field - Breguet classic or Type XX/XXI - VC Historiques Americain - Patek Calatrava - Swatch (basic model) - Casio G Shock - Seiko Tuna Emerging icons - Bulgari Octo? - Richard Mille? - Lange No. 1? - Zenith with El Primero movement? - Tudor BB58? If you put a gun to my head I would say the three most iconic are Submariner, Moonwatch and Tank

I don't own one, but the Submariner seems to be an iconic watch if there ever was one. At least in my mind.
Yup Vostok Amphibian, Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, Type B Flieger (a few original makers), 'Dirty Dozen' watch (again a few original makers), Sinn U1/U50 a.k.a. the Lego watch, Doxa 300T, someone else mentioned Panerai Radiomir another mentioned the Tag Monaco, A. Lange & Sohne Lange 1, Casio G-shock especially the 5600 ... so quite a few others.

Nice to see someone else besides me mentioning the Dirty Dozen
I agree with 5 of 10; regardless, the Rolex Submariner trumps my list versus the Tudor BB or Daytona for sure.
Excellent choices, although if it were me I’d have chosen a Submariner over a Black Bay, and maybe found room for a Tag Heuer Monaco Calibre 11 somewhere in there
Fantastic list and fantastic theme for watch collecting 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Great list. If I would allow myself to add a few, it would be the Rolex Datejust and the Patek Phillippe Calatrava as I feel they both modeled every dress watch that we see today.
The one watch I think is iconic because of the style and the celebrity provenance it carries is the Heuer Monaco. The beautiful blue square dial you can identify a mile away and the “King of Cool”, Mr. Steve McQueen, making it famous in the movie “LE MANS”. Keep up the great work!

Sorry but the Omega IS the iconic chronograph, not the Rolex. In fact you'll be hard pressed to find a more iconic watch, period. Plus, it is the looker of the two. In fact, as far as icons go I would swap the Daytona for the Submariner. Now that's an icon.
The Submariner is the most iconic watch ever made. The second one is the Speedmaster Profesional.
You forget following: 1. Tag Heuer Monaco (McQueen impact) 2. Casio G shock DW5000c (first G shock) 3. Omega Seamaster (thanks Mr Bond) 4. Mickey Mouse watch, Disney’s TA56952 (for some the fascination with watches started there) Good list though
The Nautilus?
I just started listening, I hope you included the Lorus Mickey Mouse hands watches... It would be unforgettable.
Yet another wonderful video and example of telling it like it is and not just riding the Rolex hype train. THANK YOU!
“impossible screws” on the APRO! yes! they drive me nuts! i’m glad someone else recognizes that the screw slots are redundant.
Just the banter I need with my ☕️ on a Monday morning!
Patek should have been there fore sure.. Either Calatrava which was an inspiration for a million other watches or Nautilus as another icon, almost as iconic as Royal Oak.

I already knew monaco was going to be slept on for this list haha
I agree with most of your examples except maybe the Seiko, just because its way to new to be an iconic watch. Other than that, maybe the Calatrava from Patek, which i think is the oldest of them all. Great video!
I think the BB58 is iconic among watch enthusiasts, but the Submariner has such a wide reach among the masses that it's hard to agree with putting the BB over the Submariner as an icon. BP Fifth Fathoms may be the daddy of the dive watches, but whenever anyone mentions the concept of a dive watch, I can guarantee the Submariner is the first, if not among the first, of the designs that come to mind.
Haha, I think the thing where you switch between visual microphones as the two boys talk? Well done. 👍
Putting the BB58 instead of the Submariner was a brilliant troll move! 😂
I paused the video and made my own list to compare, and we had mostly the same list! However my list had the Tag Heuer Monaco, Rolex Submariner, Zenith El Premiero instead of the Daytona, IWC, Navitimer. Fun exercise to do nevertheless!

I was expecting the Monaco and Submariner much more than the Daytona and Black Bay. The Reverso is well known, but I don't see it as an icon (which typically inspire imitators from everyone else).
The speedmaster has been my grail watch for a few years now. Definitely take some saving for that one. Just purchased a PRX to hold me over till then 😁
Often forgotten but definitely iconic? Panerai and take your pick. Nice rugged Italian watch.
OMG the soliloquy on the Casio F-91W was amazing 👏 🙌
I wish GS would stop putting the power reserve indicator on the dial. Kills the symmetry and overall design imo

Symmetry is a bit overrated. Lots of really, really high end watches (A. Lange und Söhne, F. P. Journe, Greubel Forsey) are asymmetrical.
I wouldn't have chosen a BB58 over a Sub, but I guess that's just me. Having said that, the rest of the list is spot on! Maybe if it were longer it could have also included a Seamaster, Monaco and a Datejust as well. .

Totally agree with the Cartier Tank, but that could be swapped for the JLC Reverso (My personal fave,) would be even better if the JLC had the cabochon spinel. Agree with the Speedmaster, which could be swapped for the Cosmograph.....For a few £ more. Instead of the IWC, I'd much rather go for a Laco. Far more like an original Second World War era Fleiger watch, especially the Erbstuck models. 100% with you on the Navitimer. I DO like the Tudor Black Bay apart from the absence of crown guards, and that strange hour hand! As for the Casio.....I must be the ONLY person born in the 1970's who didn't actually own one! :( I still feel deprived! LOL. Ah......And THERE is The Reverso! Good choice! AND the Cosmograph! LOL. Just to finish off!
- Rolex Submariner over Tudor Black Bay 58 - Patek Philippe Calatrava over the Rolex Daytona
My grail is the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, but gunning for the Moonwatch because i am a realist.
Great selection, the only one I would add is the Seiko SKX!🙂

From the comments it looks like a part 2 is in order 😄 I too would pick the submariner over the blackbay. But theyre both icons of their brand name.
So the Cosmograph is iconic because it was so unliked the dealers had to give them away with other purchases, and one given to Joanna Woodward happened to end up on the wrist of Paul Newman, who liked it so much he gave it away to one of his daughter’s boyfriend? Rolex couldn’t even be bothered to build a movement for it until this century…The Submariner is iconic, as is the GMT Master, the Daytona pretty much just a second or third run chronograph.
Denk You very Matsch for Excellent Entertainment. It’s a little late but, all the best for the new Year 2023. I love your channel. I miss the current rolex date date model 40 mm. It’s like the current Royal Oak maybe even more the absolute icon. Even much better than the original icon in 36 mm. I Would place it behind the Daytona.
It's very strange that this video shows iconic watches and doesn't mention the Rolex Submariner, I thought it would be at the top of the list, I guess not mentioning the Submariner is a smart move 😉 To increase the number of comments below the video

It is iconic but the title is „Iconic watches that every Enthusiast loves“ - I think the BlackBay is more beloved by the watch enthusiast community in general :)
Don’t understand the love for the Daytona. Case is too small dial is too busy. Had one and sold it years ago to a guy who was willing to over pay. Rolex is really good at holding back production and somehow that makes collectors want it more. In Lucerne a number of years ago a sales person at the biggest watch store offered to by my GMT Master off my wrist. Rolex, over priced over rated. Omega Speed master is the real icon. Bought one in 1968 for $450. Still have it.
I would swap BB for submariner (I prefer BB, but submariner is more iconic) and Daytona for El Primero. Awesome list!
Great choices!

If you look at the back of a case, you'll see the actual screws that are connected to the hexagonal screws on top that you just pop into the hole. On Hublot the actual screws are screwed from the top, hence why it's impossible to line them up in any way, just like Cartier Santos.

Glad to see the casio but if we're talking for the general public I think a Swatch and a G Shock should be included.
Submariner should definitely feature, maybe before the reverso and snowflake. Cause that is the watch everyone thinks of when they think watch and the Apple Watch. So, maybe that too.
Wasn't Seiko that came first with the automatic cronograph with the Pogue?
Bulova Lunar Pilot also went to the moon, unofficially, and was used when the speedmaster failed
Zenith El Primero is a technical achievement. Omega MoonWatch is a historical and esteticle achievement. Rolex Daytona is a...marketing achievement, exactly as the...MoonSwatch...

Yes man, Blancpain been around right, Rolex Sub got a lot of Blancpain DNA in em, Blanpain is the Daddy, Rolex Sub is the son, I love Rolex too, not hating, got nothing but respect for The Rolex Brand. As for Zenith El Primero 3600 calibre,Zenith is the Father and, its son is the Daytona. I am liking the Zenith Chronomaster Sport with the 1/10th of a second complication, Zenith and their bench work on watch making is supreme. I stay true to my Seiko and Casio, Zenith El Primero is my favourite Swiss watch anda Stainless Steel VC 222, they could have the rest hahaha.
The Calatrava is the template for the modern wristwatch. The Rolex GMT gave us the now ubiquitous Pepsi bezel. And before there was an F91W, there was the Timex Marlin.
'People don't disagree over watches' Try that phase with the latest Patek Philippe.
Any time iconic watch is mentioned, even non watch people will say “ submariner”.
This kind of list is always arbitrary, of course, but it was fun to watch. One could have added the Panerai Radiomir, the Seiko 5, the Vostok Amphibia, the 50 Fathoms, the Calatrava, the IWC Da Vinci, the Corum Golden Bridge, just to mention a few. Make a longer list next time. And Tom should definitely wear the flashiest watch possible. Enough trying to keep a low profile.
Why do you guys LOVE the grand seiko soooooooo much?? You mention it in EVERY video! And you're the ONLY people on the PLANET who know about it!
I would add the Tissot PRX, if you expand to the top 20.
