Kane adjusting his glove before the chokeslam and Undertaker doing the throat cut sign were my favourites as a kid,
It's incredible how Undertaker's sit-up could elicit such a massive response. Just shows how popular he's always been and how much the character was over. It's hard to even describe to a non-wrestling fan why it always got such a pop.

Honestly, undertaker is THE legend of wrestling. When everyone else had to move to realistic characters, the rock, stone cold, etc, he kept his golden age character and always, ALWAYS made it work. It should have been corny, it should have felt lame, but it ALWAYS WORKED. You always believed in the fear of his opponent when the lights went down and the gong rang.

Honestly, even as a non-wrestling fan I completely get the hype. It breaks the rule or the expectation. After they get hit with the "ultimate" move, that's it. It's done. But this man just gets up. It's not supposed to happen, and he's the only one who does it. It projects a unique, unmatchable power. Hell, I got hyped just seeing it happen in this video.

As memorable as Hogan's "Hulking up" was, it was always the reaction from the opponents, after he points to them that made it that much more iconic and entertaining.

all are great but nothing pumps up the testosterone more than batista shaking the ropes.
I love Randy Orton going nuts before the DDT; It's always so much fun to watch. I also love when he's heel and he just looks around, making the opponent wait for the impact; one of those "little things" he often talks about.
my favourite is Jeff Hardy's pistol gestures he did with his fans and flipping his hair back. As if him climbing up the framework of the jumbotron wasn't enough to signify a swanton bomb, him hip thrusting and flipping his hair essentially locked it in in my eyes

It was another joke from the Rock to get Austin to break character
Whenever Kurt Angle pulled off the straps, the match was wraps. That Angle Lock was locked in and that was all she wrote. Same when Taker sat up: it's over.
The Undertaker sitting up has been one of my favorite things of all time watching wrestling as a kid, I quit watching I think around 2006 but man it used to be amazing!
Kane also did the sit up. He just did it more rarely.
@chrishubbard64
Жыл бұрын
Yeah because with the relationship between the two it made sense, depending on how the gimmick was being played at the time.
I was primarily a 90's kid fan. Sting no sells and Undertaker sit ups were my favorites. There's a matchup we sadly never got.
@wowliker642
Жыл бұрын
Tell me about it. I can only imagine Undertaker trying to lift Sting up for a choke slam but he just No Sells by getting out of his grip.
My favorite is Jericho's cocky pin (one foot on the chest while flexing and saying "Come on, baby!"
DDP's diamond! Though it usually meant that his opponent was suddenly going to turn things around, only for DDP to hit the cutter out of nowhere a few minutes later. It made my arms hurt holding that diamond up for so long, but they usually came down with a BANG!
Angel Garza’s pants is probably the best modern one we have. Some of my other personal favorites include Rey Mysterio setting up the 619 by sending someone into the ropes, Bray Wyatt’s corner bend back, CM Punk’s sleep taunt before he does the GTS, Bubba Ray Dudley pushing D-Von and yelling “GET THE TABLES,” as well as his trance after he puts someone through a table, Randy Orton slamming the ground before the RKO, John Cena raising his hand and doing his patented “You Can’t See Me” before the Five Knuckle Shuffle (or pretty much the entire “Five Moves of Doom” sequence, Roman Reigns doing the “locked and loaded” setup for the Superman Punch, and his “OOOOOAAAAHHHH” before he hits a spear.
Dope to hear Booker shout out the breakers with the spinaroonie. It was one of my favorite moves back in the day and so happy that he got it from the scene
The Rock's counter to Undertaker's sit up is hilarious, he's like "Man sit yo ass back down"
The rock kicking the undertaker during the sit up funny 😂
Undertaker's sit-up is my favorite, but Samoa Joe just moving out of the way has a special place in my heart. It's just so fun and badass.
Chief Jay Strongbow starting that war dance always fired me up as a kid. He was probably the first wrestler to "hulk-up" before his finish.
Taker sitting up and laughing at Brock was probably his best one imo
I love the “YOOOOU!” From the crowd when hulk points the finger
Old school Steiner Brothers, when Rick would get on all fours and Scotty would stand over him and Rick would start barking. Good times.
When Bubba Ray Dudley shouted "D-Von, Get the tables!" freakin glorious man.
Warrior jogging before big splash, Edge pulling hair before Spear, Goldberg throat cut taunt before Jackhammer, Scotty too Hotty worm walk before The Worm, RVD climbing on top rope with one jump (looking at the crowd) before hitting Five Star Frog Splash.
I'd say that undertaker rising up is so terrifying and that weird moves of Randy Orton makes him more like a viper himself one of the favs 😻
Undertaker sit ups are my fav.
Damn, never knew that about Hogan, that was so cool when the whole audience yells ‘YOU’ when he points. Very cool stuff.
I'd add Eddie giving that smile looking at crowd whenever referee is down and crowd popping up as they know it's time to lie cheat and steal Also nice job adding gong in undertaker part
Honorable mention: DDP throwing up the diamond hand sign before a diamond cutter.
Honorable mention should have went to John Cena's pumping up his shoes during a match. That actually was a unique thing about doctor of thuganomics that sadly died with the gimmick.

That sudden death powerslam that Samoa Joe does. Out of nowhere and lightning quick. I love that move.
The Rock kicking The Undertaker back down is so hilarious! It's like he's saying, "If you don't lay your big ass back down and let me finish my signature move... You can Tombstone me after. Damn!"
Before Batista shook the ropes, the Ultimate Warrior SHOOK THE ROPES!

3:07 - HAHA, never saw that one. Classic!
Naw The Rock kicking The Undertaker during his Gimmick and continuing to finish the people’s elbow was pure comedy 😂😂😂😂😂
Every kid from my generation always did the Shawn Michaels kick up lol
The Rock kicking The Undertaker back down to deliver the people's elbow had me fucking dying! Lmao
Angle pulling down the straps , just sends adrenaline through my vines everytime i see it
Two other moves by The Undertaker that he used to do during his prime years, snapping his head from a kneeling position to standing strait up, flipping his hair back, and the Cut Throat move, if he does either you can be certain his opponent is doomed!!!
Jeff Hardy doing the Hardy gesture before hitting the Swanton Bomb
the kurt straps always had me laughing when he did it the second time
I kinda remember the Rock Bottom being a lot slower than it ended up being. He would grab the opponent into the position, and the opponent would kinda be hanging there powerless for a few seconds until the Rock finished the move. I distinctly remember it with Road Dogg for some reason.
Hulk Hogan was my favourite as Kid, until I witnessed the Undertaker for the first time. I was brought up on Heavy Metal music like Iron Maiden, so the character resonated with me greatly. The "Sit Up" was the best.
Great list really great list, sadly couldn't finish the whole thing cause that scream 1:59 where Kurt German suplex John Morrison got me REAL good
The Undertaker Part Is Hilarious 🤣 When He Sit Up The Backgrounds Sound Like Tingggggggggg
How could you forget the classic..."DEVON!...GET THE TABLE!"
Eddies Latino heat build up and Chris Benoits neck thing were my favs
Ultimate Warrior's signature running at full speed entrance before the match also meant the match was ending in about another min or two! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The "People's Elbow" always cracked me up laughing everytime, something so ridiculous but yet so serious however, the Undertaker sit-up, when that happened you know someone is about to get a Tombstone.
eddie guererro giving that big cheeky grin when he was about to bring in a weapon
Your fucking “gong” sound each time Undi sits up😂😂😂😂. I’m dead.
The Rock kicking down the sitting up Undertaker.. 😂😂😂
Sting No-selling the Guitar shot from Jeff Jarrett @ TNA Bound for Glory 2006 was awesome
Man this video just took me back. WWE and WCW used to be so hype

Its funny how many of the older wrestlers had a no sell "power up" gimmick to hype the crowd. Warrior, hogan, even the undertaker situp could count as he would basically take some ungodly punishment or a finisher, then just nope as he sits up and choke slams you.
I just love taunts, whether it's Razor Ramon throwing his toothpick into someone's face, Undertaker sitting up, Randy Ortons canvas punches or Sheamus's chest beats... they are fucking cool
This list is missing the biggest crowd favourite "D-Von, get the tables"
Eddie's face when Undertaker rises CLASSIC
I'm not even a big Undertaker fan... but that sit up. So awesome! And he's been doing it forever!
The work that went into this video is commendable
3:06 perfectly timed 😂😂😂
The cene reaction to the undertaker sit up is still to this day my favorite sell of that gimmick.
I loved Rene Dupree's little dance/taunt. It got so over that creative actually told him to stop doing it. And there was something truly catchy about it.
number one spot for part two of this list: the worm

Oooooh I do miss Too Cool!!!!
People trying to break undertakers character and failing should be a special series as well !!
I definitely looked like Jerry Lawler doing the spinaroonie when I was a kid. 😂😂
there is no doubt about it just watching this video got me all hyped up!!
I especially loved what Scott Hall did as Razor Ramon before the Razor's Edge, the "It's done" with both hands
The undertaker noise effect everytime he gets up xD Always loved hbks kick up tho
When angle dropped the straps you know his opponent was in trouble especially perc angle days lol
2:40 my dad really ruined me this thing (in a good way) since he saw us how hyped we used to get when it happened. so he trolled us everytime when a taco bell ad shows on tv and he just rise up like that from the couch.
Undertakers sit up has got to be the best ever I especially love the on on John Cena when he was to the five knuckle shuffle
The Kip up was always so damn impressive to me. And Undertakers sit up is legendary
this videos needs a part 2
3:45 I remember Rey Mysterio once giving Undertaker a kick off the ropes after one of the sit ups, planting the big man back down.
The best Batista rope shakes were the ones where he shook them and stomped aggressively, it FELT like he was gonna tear his opponents head off.
Macho Man with the flying elbow is still my favorite. He was a pioneer for sure
The Rick Flair walk is hilarious too
Great Compilation Video. No doubt Undertaker Situp and HBK Shawn Micheals jump up move are awesome but the most electrifying and legendary move is The People's Elbow. I also like Randy Orton's RKO and Dean Ambrose move when moves back in middle of ropes, recoils back and give full inside out move to opponent.
Lol Sting's no-sell is so cool, he should've dominated Hogan at Starrcade '97.
I always enjoyed Taker calling out old school before he hit it :)
Jericho's scream kills me😂😂😂 3:33
Warrior going nuts, Razor's Edge, Taker's Tombstone, Diesel Bomb, Taker's clothesline, to name a few more.
The thing about the People's Elbow is someone in the crowd got his elbow brace. Like, the time I went to an event, I got to high five Edge or Christian (I don't know in the chaos). It gets the crowd involved.
Growing up Hogan's hulk up was the best but there's nothing like the undertaker's sit up
One honorable mention for me is Stone Cold's Lou Thez Press. To knock his opponent on their back with the Thez Press then start punching the hell out of the guy, it was then that you knew Austin was going to be giving another ass-whooping.
@chrishubbard64

Shit just Austin’s entrance alone was hype and a sign that someone was about to get whooped.
I never thought much of Takers sit up but sold properly, it's pretty cool. It would have been even better if they did the bell thing like in this video, and probably something with the lighting as well to give it extra kick.
The Rock countering the Undertaker’s sit up is pure gold
