Everyone who thinks that parts where she got harrassed or bothered were just edited out, I would confirm that it's really that peaceful to walk in the streets of Riga :) I'm not Latvian (Estonian here), but been to Riga and that's what I appreciate about our region, that it's very peaceful.

I'm guessing it's so peaceful, because most Latvians tend to keep to themselves and not shout or something. Sometimes it is annoying to see dead serious people everywhere you go, but at least there's peace.

Yasmine Gorrab depends which district of the city... Ķengarags district and also Maskačka (slang for Maskavas Forštate) are the most criminal districts there (along also with Pļavnieki and others). But the center is pretty much okay. Old town is really safe at night. :D

There ar no "hoods" in Riga, that's the thing. It exist in some more multicultural areas within Europe, but I have been even to some very poor areas in Southest Europe and ppl ar hospitable and kind. Being poor doesn't mean being dirty or criminal.

A big number of ppl, maybe like 1/3 of population, live in those blocks :D They ar not so different from other modern housing estades, maybe little uglier. So it's not exectlly a ghetto where mostly "socially inadaptable" pll live. Even "gopniks" and homeless ppl usually mind their own bussiness. The drog addicts ar problem, but it's not like syringes or human feces lie on the streets, as it does in some American cities. At least I never noticed any particulary dangerous location. I have walked through any part of a city alone, in skirt, and nobody gives a fuck. Maybe I meet some drunk ppl who ar chatty, but that's it. Only kind of "hoods" I can think of ar gypsy settlements, I almost forgot them. But I don't think they ar so common, depends on a country I guess.

The same thing happens in Finland. Everyone gets a little bit of attention, but no one gets cat called. :) Even people on the bus never talk, unless they're in a little bigger group, but they still talk super quietly. Everyone has their own space, this is why I love Europe. ❤

I almost cried watching this. There's so much hate spread by the mainstream press that we forget how nice and caring people can be. The world can be a beautiful place ^_^

This video was so nice and refreshing to watch after seeing a couple of other catcalling videos. After a while of seeing that no one was going to say anything I started to actually relax a little (I didn't even realize I was tense) and it felt nice, almost peaceful. Right now there is allot of anti-semetism going on in Latvia. They have not yet learned to be multicultural and us Jews will be at the center of this and we will be resented for it, but it must take place. Latvia must learn to be more multicultural or they won't survive. It's a huge transformation that must take place, and Latvia is going into multicultural mode and will no longer be this monolithic place that it once was. It must take place.

Riga ist wirklich ein schöner Ort,meien beste freundin kommt aus lettland und ist jede ferien und KEIN mensch hat ihr jemals was nachgerufen. Ich lebe in einer kleinen statd,doch vor 5 jahren lebte ich in berlin. Damals hat mir nie jemand wa snachgerufen,doch vor 2 Wochen war ich in Hamburg,und man hat einfach die Blicke von Männer und Jungs bemerkt. Himexma lots of people in Latvia , usually would dress stylishly in public (like , no sweatpants and that) , probably just used to it.

I believe this is how many of the western european capitals used to be, but now they arent really european anymore
