Never noticed Pettis got paid that little in the ufc , granted it was 10 years ago so the ufc wasn't bringing in nearly the revenue now , but Jesus 10k for his fight with Guida and Pettis was a huge superstar back in the early 2010s 😔

Wow... if the pay is true about Ronda Rousey that's honestly shocking. Her and Conor were carrying the UFC on their backs in terms of popularity. I would have thought she was getting paid that Conor money. She was literally on the UFC game box art for Christ sake.

@@zGJungle She got a bonus every time she finished a fight (like Conor), plus her bouts with Miesha and Holly which also won Fight of the Night meaning she got an extra 100K for those fights. Still, given how popular she was and bringing WMMA into the mainstream she was very underpaid.

the draws get the big money while the people who are not big draws get these lower contracts so its kinda hard to call the ufc greedy just because they dont pay alot of money to people who dont make the ufc alot of money

Instead of marketing him properly Dana and the UFC always tried to rip Mighty off and argue that he was boring despite not trying to effectively market him. The UFC games aren’t going to fill up arenas.

I wouldn't go that far. We're seeing how much PFL, ONE, Bellator etc. are paying the legends of the UFC who bring much-needed credibility and hype to these other promotions. I klnd of doubt the average fighter in these promotions make more than the average UFC fighter, but considering how goddamn stingy the UFC is, maybe they do.

@@chendaddy they do . Henry Corales who still fights at Bellator makes 100k with sponcers and he’s like average . He trains at my gym. He makes mores then Belal Mohammed Johnny walker like top 10 guys . The ufc is stingy . Dana be giving Nelk boys like 200k in presents and can pay his fighters

I think a lot of it is on the fighters tbh. They could very easily group up and demand better benefits but only a select few voice their displeasure and it’s far outweighed by those who are willing to take their place and earn far less.

In terms of money he's making bank, but competitively he's blemishing his record and his legacy because he keeps losing. Its not like he's losing to killers as well, he's getting beat by guys he would have destroyed in his prime. Pettis is 1-4 in the PFL, he needs to retire.

@@TH3B0N3Y4RD The other organizations are harder to follow because they either don't market themselves or aren't as available as the UFC is. To watch UFC events all you have to do is either pay a subscription to UFC Fightpass or ESPN+. For promotions like Bellator, ONE, or PFL its more complicated. Pettis is a legend no doubt, and that KO win over Wonderboy will always be one of his most memorable moments. But father time waits for no man, Pettis should have called it quits once his UFC contract expired.
