The Hernandez fight reminds me of an old pro wrestling adage; never call your opponent an old man. If you win, all you did was beat some over the hill wreck, and if you *lose* you come out looking like a total bitch.

I mean, if you judge a fighter on his last 10 fights alone, even someone like Anderson Silva has a terrible record. I think more fighters are hyperaware of the concept of legacy now, so they know to get out on a high note with as close to an unblemished record as possible. See Khabib for the best example of this.

I'm a huge Ellenberger fan since he is a Marine from Nebraska like me. Having said that, he was well past his prime and already showing signs of decline when he fought Wonderboy. Jake stood back most of the fight right in Wonderboys range because he was afraid of getting cracked. Ironically this put him right in the perfect spot to get cracked. Wonderboy said in an interview recently that Ellenberger hit the hardest of anyone he has fought. Jake just refused to go Juggernaut after he cracked Wonderboy. Two years prior, I think he would have done just that and it may have been much different finish. He knew his chin was gone by this point and just stepped back after cracking Wonderboy.

Fun fact about Tabasco sauce - all the peppers used in the sauce start out at Avery Island in Louisiana, either grown there directly or having their gene line originate there. For approximately a century, all tabasco peppers were grown and harvested on the island. However, the McIlhenny family has expanded growing into Mexico to help ensure long term sustainability.
