"The Empire Strikes Back" is a movie I would definitely add to this list.

Batman, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Last Unicorn, and the Dark Crystal are on my list of great 80's movies 😊

I would throw Predator in there somewhere. But overall an excellent list. Great trek down memory lane.

Interesting that you mention Raiders and ET, yet neither are on your list. No mention of any sequels from 70s movies, i suppose that's intentional, to keep a purely 80s list. The list should also include Airplane and Police Academy, as breakthrough comedies. Also many consider The Princess Bride to be a nearly perfect movie. Lastly, no mention of Gremlins, which, along with Raiders of the Lost Arc, lead to the PG13 rating. Agree to disagree.

Princess Bride is a perfect movie lol. To think otherwise is inconceivable.

One thing: Ghostbusters wasn't made by Paramount, it was made by Columbia.

The 80s was the best decade for movies... if you do a top ten several great movies will be left out like Beverly hills Cop I & II, the color purple, and the real travesty The Empire Strikes Back. You can't have an 80s top ten movies without the empire being on the list!

The terminator was an excellent film but it didn't create the tech-nior genre, that was BladeRunner.

Personally not a fan. I hate that the girl just stands there and lets things happens. She doesn't help fight or anything. She is the weakest female character in a popular that I can think of

RoboCop, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Mac n Me.

The goonies, I remember going to see it in the movies when I was in daycare. Hey you guys.

I’m a little late to the comment party but having read them all I’ve come to this conclusion. There are so many classic movies that the 80’s brought us, a list of 10 best is going to be different for everyone. Even a list of 100 would be missing someone’s favorite. I agree with all the movies mentioned here, the 80’s were prolific. 😊

I would personally take off Top Gun and add Empire Strikes Back. It’s so hard to whittle it down to ten, but I think Coming to America, The Last Dragon, Hollywood Shuffle, and Beetlejuice should be honorable mentions.

The irony that the movie James Cameron created based on a nightmare gave me nightmares because I watched too young

I thought malls were around since the 50s ...😮 Just watched Top Gun, loved it. The Breakfast club is a favorite of mine. Stand By Me is a favorite of my dads (we are both Stephen King fans) I love the goonies. I LOVE Die Hard (so not a Christmas movie though😂) Terminator 2 is better I liked the first one too 😂

I loved Teen Witch! I watched it again a few weeks ago and it was still good

The 90s and early 00s did well, the late 00s I had 3 kids. Was another 10 years (which I missed everything(which ended yp being nothing) When it was Content creators on KZread I tuned back into. It's sooòo bad now comparatively. Probably a 10:1 bad to good. Who woulda thought they woulda tanked every field of entertainment. Having been born in 77, it was a hellova sweet spot for tuning in and dropping out.

With a list like this you’re never going to make everyone happy. I would include “first blood” and “raiders of the lost ark.” Maybe “karate kid.” And I’d remove a couple. But it’s subjective. Beverly Hills cop is a favorite

Although Goonies, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Die Hard were made in the 80's, I don't think that they "defined" the 80's. E.T. , A Christmas Story, Beverly Hills Cop I and II, and Rocky IV would have been better choices.

Where's Batman or Beetlejuice? What about Big?
