I think Gremlins deserves much better than an honorable mention! It's truly one of the most iconic movie to 80's kids! (much more than "Princess Bride" anyway) And what about Legend, Willow, Roger Rabbit, Young Sherlock Holmes, Explorers, The Lost Boys...? 10)- Legend 09)- Willow 08)- Who Framed Roger Rabbit? 07)- E.T 06)- Gremlins 05)- The Goonies 04)- Ghostbusters 03)- Indiana Jones Trilogy 02)- Back to the Future I & II 01)- The Empire Strikes Back / The Return of the Jedi Honorable mentions to: Beetlejuice, Robocop, Conan the Barbarian, The Terminator, Aliens, Predator, The Neverending Story, Young Sherlock Holmes, The Lost Boys, Explorers, Tron, Commando, Red Dawn, Karate Kid, Highlander, Rocky IV, Die Hard, First Blood part II, Fright Night, Batman, Howard the Duck, Masters of the Universe & Akira.

kobe smalls how old were you in the 80s? I had a lot of friends of color. We were all treated the same. They were my best friends. It's getting real tiresome playing a race card constantly. It's sickening. If anyone has a real gripe it's the native Americans or the Chinese immigrants of the 18th century. I never owned a slave and I'm not a racist. So get off your high horse. Jesus I hate people who feel down trodden forever. Get a life. Or make a better one.

Some movies that I saw as a kid in the 1980s (and did not get a mention): Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, An American Tail, Honey I Shrunk The Kids, The Great Mouse Detective, Flight Of The Navigator, The Wizard, Short Circuit, The Boy Who Could Fly, Return To Oz, Follow That Bird (Sesame Street’s first movie), The Black Cauldron, Dot and the Smugglers, Oliver and Company, The Chipmunk Adventure, The Land Before Time, The Footrot Flats Movie, The Fox and the Hound, Uncle Buck my parents took me to see most of these movies (when they were first released). Otherwise we hired them out from the video store (on Beta, which we had instead of VHS).

Here are my thoughts: 10. A good teen evolving issues film. Back then, 80's kids became a hip legendary 80's teen. 9. I've seen it and it was a clever fairy tale experience. 8. Wax on and wax off. This is "Rocky" meets Japanese martial arts flick. 7. Indy is the best. Back then, we enjoy watching three Indy flicks. 6. I love "Ferris Bueler." A smart teen flick about a teen boy who likes to play hooky. Nice way to teach 80's kid to play class hooky. 5. The Goonies is 80's kids classic. 4. Hell yeah, the real "Ghostbusters" is the shit right here! Kids love the merchandise of "Ghostbusters" figures and lots of mass hysteria of cult media. 3. "Star Wars" still becomes a kid's space fantasy cult. Deal with it Star Wars haters. 2. E.T. brings back in my childhood memories for watching over and over again. - yay, Gremlins! - Beetlejuice rocks. - didn't see it, but I'll see it soon. 1. Woah that is 80's heavy right there! Timeless 1. Giga Watts Film! Great 80's film list and do 90's kids flicks!

(1988) - Monster Squad - Uncle Buck (1989) - Adventures of Babysitting (1987) - Pee Wee's Big Adventure (1985) - The Fox and the Hound (1981) - The Little Mermaid (1989) - The Brave Little Toaster (1987) - Flight of the Navigator (1986) - Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989) - Tron (1982) - The Wizard (1989) - Batman (1989) - A Christmas Story (1983) - Explorers (1985) ...much more to say?
