The most insane easter egg ever, if you can really classify it as such, is the entirety of Inscryption's story. Daniel Mullins put clues in all of his old games, even old demos of unreleased games, and even hid stuff in the real world that was required to fully unlock and understand Inscryption. Seeing all of it unfold blew my mind, it's unbelievable.

I think it's cause they're passionate about what they do, it's a fairly small team and they have really good chemistry and have been around a bit. If you compare like IGN there's several hundred people doing random content that's disingenuous cause alot of them don't know anything about games but studied in a certain field that "qualifies" them. TL;DR small team of actual gamers making great content for gamers.

Xenogears has been my #1 game since it came out, over 2 decades later, i'd be scared of them remaking it and ruining it. THe number of secrets was INSANE and AMAZING! That game really opens up once you start collecting the manual pages and I was totally there for it all. to be precise, dying light 2's hoverboard WAS obtainable in some earlier versions of the game if u just moved out of the given path and reach an specific safehouse before the timer runs out, u could simply put the hoverboard inside ur safehouse stash and exit the game, after returning u could see the hvoerboard simply lying there in ur stash ready to use freely, u could use the same method for some other easter egg limited stuff including harry potters broom or the doom guy shotgun, sadly it got patched in the later releases but if u managed to get ur hands on them, they never actually removed it from the players inventories.

The Dead Space easter egg is my favorite, especially when you need to find all the markers in New Game+. Spoiler Alert: If you find all the Markers in New Game+, some dialogues during the end of the last chapters are different and you also unlocked the secret ending.

One of my all time favourites is the half naked boxer shorts guy in HALO 3. Me and my friends spent so long hitting each other with hammers to get across the gap to find him. I still have the screenshot somewhere.

My favorite easter egg from dying light is the mario easter egg, this is on the first dying light game, where on the second map you reach where there's a specific pipe chimney you can go down and cross this little small while you step on small goombas that are small tiny zombies Another one is on borderlands 2, the lord of the rings easter egg where when you finish the game, go back to where you started the game and saw claptrap, in the fireplace you'll find a ring and you gotta walk all the way from that map to eridum stone map without driving or dying...and throw the ring into the lava, then you'll see 3 rakks fly by and drop 3 chests

Love easter eggs. My first ever was way back in a PC game called F-14 Top Gun. In one mission if you flew to a certain place, you'd find... a dragon! Flying along, flapping, breathing fire. I shot it down with the M61 20mm cannon. In the post mission briefing it said "Puff the dragon was shot down by Maverick..." man, I laughed.
