You'd like my grandma's fruit cake, nothing like the store bought😩 Then there's mama's ice box cake ❤
Grandma Ruth sounds so sweet! I only met my grandparents once when I was three years old because they lived in Italy, but they always had a very special place in my heart. I love all of your handmade gifts, however your Great Great Great Grandmother’s recipe is truly special! ❤️
I love fruitcake, however, not all fruitcakes are created equal😀

L💖VE the Mama Bear buffalo check apron... So stinking cute!
My Grandmother just passed away and I would love to do the recipe with her handwriting on it. I'm going to ask my mother or Aunt for one. What a beautiful way to always have your loved one close by💗

It is really awesome!
What a wonderful grandmother Natalie! That’s how I want my grandchildren to remember me not necessarily by all the material things I’ve given them, but homemade things I’ve given them from my heart. I always make a small treat box every holiday and leave it on my co workers desk and I hope when I’m gone they will remember that🥰

Your killing me here in Canada I just love all Your ideas. My favourite one was the wooden cutting board with recipes 👏👏👏👏👏🤠🚜🧑🌾🇨🇦🇨🇦
I Love that you’re taking this Christmas and Holiday Season in “Paying Tribute,” to your Beautiful Grandmother’s. They loved you and showed/shared their love for you & your entire Family by loving & giving handmade gifts w/Love. As well as being examples of Strong & Resilient women!! With that you now share these precious memories and Traditions with us and I thank you for that Natalee♥️. I have enjoyed and learned so much about you and who/m you get your talent, Love, Tradition, Creativity, Strength & giving from. You inspire and make me feel so much better on days that are hard on me and days that are the Greatest. HAPPY THANKSGIVING & MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY♥️💚♥️💚
Wonderful ideas! Certainly not your typical ideas on YT. Yay!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Thank you Lisa! Try to keep it a little different.
Throws, or blankets always make a great gift! You are so right about sewing things is so easy and always makes for a more comfortable feel and neater look! Many years ago I didn’t have a sewing machine, and not much money. For Christmas one year I made my husband a velvet robe by hand stitching the entire thing.
Ah-ha!! My rice bags!! I’ve made over 50 of these in the years my son was in private school. This year my niece-in-law became an expert cup cake maker and I had several that called for dried lavender. It was ok to eat and I sent her and my sister-in-law bottles of the herb in case they wanted to try these recipes. The extra I added to the rice bags.
I love your spirit 😇 Your ideas were spot on, I’d cry my eyes out if I got gift with my grandmothers handwriting on it !!! Thank you and Merry Christmas 🎁🎄

Love all the personalized gifts. The mama bear gift is great!
I love the hand written cutting board by your grandmother.
I would LOVE that rolling pin ❤️ I love the recipe, and her sense of humor
LOVE THESE! I'm EXTRA SUPER SENTIMENTAL so these are AMAZEBALLZ! A lot of my family appreciates "homemade/handmade" gifts, but there's ALWAYS that one or two who "just don't get it", however, ESPECIALLY you just gave me some EXCELLENT ideas! I moved 4 hours away from my momma, daughter, and siblings to be with my 90 yr old grama who lives next door in the event that she needs me. Turns out... I probably needed HER more than she needs ME. Lol. She's the most amazing, caring woman I've EVER known.... I've got letters and cards from her from YEARS ago still and I just CAN'T make myself get rid of them. She's at the point in her life where she's been giving everyone BACK the things we've given her over the years..... (she says to make it easier on everyone after she's gone 😢) so we NOW only give her things that she can enjoy just looking at as while she's in whichever room she's in at the time. Now, even though she's 90, she still does light cooking for herself, still drives herself, heck she gets around better than I do a lot of the time. Lol. Now I'm straining my brain trying to think of SOMETHING I could make and give to her just as a "little something". She LOVES coming over here and seeing all the crafts I've made PRETTY MUCH using only things I already have around the house. {other than the obvious glue, glitter, paint, etc... And I even USUALLY have most of that.} she just looks around and says it's like a museum or something in here... ESPECIALLY when I tell her what I made it out of. Lol

I love hearing about your grandma. She reminds me a lot of my grandma Ruth. She lived on her own until she was 95 years old... taking care of and tending out on others. I bet they would’ve been good friends!💕 thank you for sharing that with me.☺️

Once again I love all the ideas but the mugs and hot chocolate ornaments are my favorite because I know my grandchildren would love them and of course I would thoroughly enjoy learning the wood burning technique. Thank you for all the wonderful ideas:)

I am so glad that you enjoyed the episode. I put a lot into it and it had a lot of meaning for me as well. I love the idea of your chocolate ball recipe. Good luck with it and merry Christmas!🎄💕
Love the recipe idea. My grandmother wrote, by hand, a lot of recipes & put them in a small binder. She gave it to me when I was 13 & I did not appreciate it them. Now, it is like my bible. Looks like it had been through the war. Wish I had taken better care of it. 😡 I made recipe books for my daughter's & sent paper to grandmothers & great grandmothers for my granddaughter. Such precious gifts. Thx Natalee for bringing back memories. 💞. ps I collect rolling pins too.
Absolutely love the idea of the handwritten recipe on a cuttingboard. Wow such a wonderful keepsake.

Here's a little tip from a Southern girl to make fruit cake taste awesome. Take cheese cloth & soak it in a little Kentucky burbon. No need to wring it out--the wetter the better. Wrap several layers of the bourbon soaked cheese cloth around the fruit cake & place in a tin or tupperware. Let it sit for a time period from few days to a month. Then slice that cake & wow what a flavor. It might not taste much better, but you won't care (ha). The longer the cake steeps in the bourbon the stronger the taste will be. The best fruit cakes come from Claxton, GA! Try a bourbon soaked Claxton Fruit Cake next time.

I'm loving the scorch art I'm seeing everywhere and your gift ideas are perfect. It's cool if you scorch all of the wood, not just the monogram. It really brings out the grain of the wood. But the letter or image is still darker.

Recipe project is perfect! My great grandmother worked at a candy shoppe in Point Arena, CA back the 70's and she made See's Fudge! She gave us the recipe and it is so special!
Great gift ideas! I once made an apron for my sister and had printed our Mom’s meatloaf recipe. She loved it! (I transferred the recipe by using the freezer paper method. Ironed a piece of fabric onto freezer paper then sent it thru the printer.)

NataLee thank you so much for these ideas. I have several recipes from my Grandma and I was wondering how to preserve them. Now I know.
