Richard Gadd is truly courageous to reenact his harrowing, shocking real life experience of being stalked. I hope that there were plenty of emotional support counsellors on that set.

Me too. I can't even imagine the amount of PTSD episodes he had during filming after suffering from two traumatic events.

I’m sure the reason he needed to act it out was to take control and direct a situation that was out of his control at the time. That is the catharsis, the therapy.
Jessica Gunning was really chilling as Martha, a testament to her incredible acting skills. It must have been mentally tough to put herself in a stalker's shoes, but she pulled it off with aplomb.

Someone compared Jessica’s performance to Kathy Bates’ performance in Misery. I haven't seen the movie in its entirety, but from the clips I've seen from the movie, I have to agree.

This show is a masterpiece.
I hope that Jessica Gunning at least get a nomination on Emmy and Golden Globes for her terrific job on the mini-series!
I thought the honesty of his actions towards martha were really brave to admit. Often, people forget that the "perfect victim" rarely exists. His empathy towards her after the nightmare she put him through truley speaks to his character.
Baby Reindeer is such an important work of art, it shines a light on the complex trauma response that so many experience. Sexual violence against men is also so entrenched in shame that it is underreported. I hope that this work gives others courage to bring their experiences to light.
Speaking as a male bartender, these are reasons why I have hard boundaries with guests and try to teach them to others, especially my female coworkers. If anything ever becomes too uncomfortable, I'm the fall guy because I'm gonna handle it. The customer is not always right. It's either the most privileged or the loneliest/creepiest that has the audacity to think they have free reign in bar spaces. "Don't talk to me like that." "Don't talk to her like that." "Don't touch me like that." "Don't touch her like that." Seems easy to say but the dynamics of male/female encounters and micro/macro behaviors is something we deal with constantly. Grateful for the depths of this show in all aspects.
The show had an outstanding shift in my perception! I’m glad that it exists, but I’m sorry that it happened.
This was the most original, mesmerizing, moving, piece of Art of I have seen! And to think, I just stumbled upon this when surfing Netflix! Great Job to Richard Gadd and the entire cast and crew. May your lives move upward in a positive manner! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Baby Reindeer opened the door that men can be victims of both sexual assault & stalking by someone of the opposite sex.
how on earth did he re-enact his SA scene? that was so so disturbing and must of been so triggering for him
This was 100%, the best series I've watched in so, so long. I just can't believe that Fiona Harvey has come out as the real stalker, still inserting herself into poor Gadd's life!!! What audacity!
Loved this series❤
wyh they not letting Jessica Gunning talk, she is awoseme -Sent from iphon. XD Seriously, but wished I could have known more about the actress. She gave a great performance and I believe the "real" Martha is complaining now about the way she was portrayed in the series and wants to sue Netflix. Sent from my Nokia.
Craziest SHT I've EVER seen 😕
Series was brilliant. Richard was brave to play himself and Jessica was brilliant as Martha aka Fiona Harvey!
Literally just start watching this!
I think so many people liked watching this series is because it is not a black and white story, and exposes the complexity of human nature. It is those who get it who do not judge either Gadd or Martha, but show empathy instead. Also Teri- what a character!
I couldn’t see what was so attractive about him until he got better. Depression makes everyone ugly. 😮💨
Unfortunately this happens to women all over the world everyday 😢
@Scar-jg4bn

Happens to men everyday too, but noone cares when it happens to us. There's a much higher rate of SA against gay/bi men than there is against women; it's about 1 in 4 women and 2 in 4 gay/bi men who have experienced full on SA.

OMG OUTLANDER
Why is this on MsMojo & not your main channel?
I didn't even realize I had a stalker until my GF and I were watching this and she turned to me and said this is just like ####$%
This has to be the most depressing show i have ever watched! They are both mentally ill!

Both are mentally damaged but one is the abuser and that is Martha
Now Martha is sueing Gadd. So you might have to update the video.? Martin says it's not a true story and Gadd is psychotic.? I wonder what will happen.

This series was literally about a man who was raped and is trying to deal with the fact that he may be gay. on top of a crazy lady stalking him.

Its deeper that being gay or not for me it felt more like he struggled with standing up for him self and deep insecurities

In the show he fell in love with two women. He's clearly bisexual not gay.
This sounds like the new “Catfish.” A must-watch.
Its Fiona Harvey And she is ranting over Facebook with her 2 accounts. She is weird
I found it difficult to feel sorry for him. The police didn't do well but had he have given them the full story then things might have been different

I think he does a good job of addressing many of the "should haves" - trauma changes the physiology of the brain.

Did you actually watch the show? Do you have empathy for victims of abuse? Doesn’t seem like it.
Great series. Richard Gadd did a wonderful performance. However, his actions throughout this ordeal were very questionable. He made misstep after misstep which led to such a horrendous outcome.
Minds u on train spotting layout
And now the real life Martha has threatened Stephen King. Woman has found her new victim.
Don't know, haven watched it. Happy wednesday night, Rebecca. Take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well.
Never noticed you reuse scripts. Regardless, the Netflix serious is great and Jessica has always been incredible. I hope this doesn't end in tears now it's all public. I feel awful for all involved x
Q - why is he listening to all the messages rather than deleting?

He was trying to find one that was threatening so he could have her arrested.
I thought it was weird. He's just as crazy as she is.

FIONA HARVEY 😡
Q - how does she get his number? Q once she has his number why doesn't she change it? Q why can't he block her on FB ? Q - why can't he block her email address - yes she might have various accts - but the tel number - why does she have this information - and how?

Stockholm Syndrome. Some victims enjoy the validation and the attention. They find it really difficult to adjust to life without all of the drama and attention the stalker gave them

What a load of bollocks
Y’all think Richard Gadd is telling the truth??? Who could relive trauma like this and then still protect the abusers???

From someone who was reluctant to report his stalker and abuser it's not far fetched to see why he can relive the trauma better than most people can

He did a poor job of hiding her identity. His Twitter account was open and there were tweets from a woman in 2014 that made it clear she was the stalker. Those tweets are gone but there are screenshots. She's posting on Facebook and threatening to sue. The drama isn't over.

I mean, he literally has the receipts. People deal with trauma in many ways, just because you can't imagine being able to do this, doesn't make it untrue. Consider educating yourself by reading something like "The Body Keeps The Score" which shines a light on traumatic stress and how it affects people.
