There was like almost a decade in the Aquaman comics where he had a beard, long hair, and a lot more attitude. So the DCU version is hardly a stretch.

MY experience with that character was during the Grant Morrison JLA run in the late 90's and I would still never describe that version as the hard drinking party animal Mamoa plays him as. He was a darker character than previously depicted, but was still a stand up good guy, he was just more growling when doing so.

I think the changing of aquaman was done better in the justice League animated series, but the dceu did it well too

Cyborg is pretty close. For the 5 minutes he is around to characterize. I think that Richard Schiff would have made a good version of Hector Hammond if they hadn't blown him up after 3 minutes of screen time. But that is me giving them a lot of credit.

I was pretty annoyed by how much the Martha scene got so much more attention when it came to people's hatred during BvS. The Martha scene was terrible, but so was almost every scene Eisenberg's Luthor was in, and there were far more of those

Not the Joker. He ACTED like the Joker, he just didn't look enough like him. And Luthor... Don't blame the actor, that was Ol' Zack Snyder's fault as the director

Thing is that many of these characters didn't strike the version people had in mind when their names were announced. Look hard enough and you will find versions that do match the versions appearing in the movies, same way you find Batfleck drawing on the Dark Knight Returns.

@@sanny8716 The original version where he was a red headed mad scientists is perhaps the closest physically. But in it's own way his version is also drawing on Hackman's bizarre real-estate tycoon and the later white-collar corporate CEO from comics and cartoons everyone was hoping for.

Yeah, that's the thing with comics. There are so many interpretations of the characters and it's common for filmmakers to pick one that will work for the film, or to merge aspects of several iterations of the character (and even elements from other similar characters) to create their own interpretation for the film versions.

Even then, there was still evidence of a basic Joker character- a dangerously unpredictable psychopath who gets genuine joy out of crime and madness. He just needed a script to imbue it with more depth and allow him to breathe as a main antagonist to Batman.

Aquaman looks better in the movie than in the comics, and thanks to Jason Momoa people knows how awesome Aquaman can be, since before that movie happened, before justice league movie happened, no one would take Aquaman too seriously, and Smallville didn't do a good job on it either, and he does looks like that justice league animated series version of Aquaman that has one hand, where he rocks a long hair and a beard.

He's a bit different from his comicbook counterpart, but not so far off from it that he deserves to be in a top 10 list. While Affleck's Batman wasn't completely accurate, it didn't seem like something that was a huge departure from what we knew, and given enough reason we could see a comicbook with Batman like this.

We got KG BEAST in Arrow and BVS and he acts nothing like the comic book version and without using the name.

Have you seen the lizard from Spider-Man 1? He looks like killer croc with a tail, something tells me isn't easy to do humanoide/mutant lizards on movies.

Greed is good Maybe James Gunn's Suicide Squad will CGI Croc but I think they didn't want to chance it with money for something that could potentially fail, which the movie did. The problem is WB doesn't have enough faith in their characters/productions. With Aquaman and Shazam being pretty good hits, they might just take it more seriously

Jesse was great as Lex. I thought the “high pitched-Twitchy” performance was funny if anything And his slow turn to reveal him as the villain and all revealing all the pieces he carefully laid out to turn Batman and Superman against each other was excellent. I should mention though I chose to forget the theatrical cut of BvS ever happened and I regularly watch the 3 Hour Ultimate addition because in the theatrical cut they took out a lot of scenes from the original movie that were kind of the pillars for Batman and Superman’s relationship in that movie, as well as scenes that had important info about Lex

i like that they changed how Enchantress looks because in the comics she looks just like Enchantress from Marvel same green looking outfit only thing not the same is the hair color

The whole Metropolis incident wasn't helped by Zod himself. I get that no method of saving Krypton was too violent and cruel for him to take, but he never even gave a thought to anything less violent or cruel. Nothing established in the movie ruled out the idea of his forces working with the scientists on Earth to figure out a way to save Krypton that didn't depend on wiping out humanity. But nope. Zod wasn't having that. Instead he caused a disaster that couldn't be stopped without sacrificing the last hope to restore Krypton.

They have mentioned that. And the killing blow was the popularity of the Marvel movies had influence to the comics. I not saying DC comics are trash, hell I like the villains more the heroes and Marvel had some problems like the X-Men sequels, Fantastic Four And how they mangled Dr. Doom. The main issue is crappy writing, bad world building, and poor character development (except Aquaman and Wonder Woman, good on them). For example: Spider-Man had three reboots with origin story full, then cut down, and then just moving past to get on with the story, to Superman or Batman it's the same origin story over and over again with different directors (even the animated movies) and full on padding in the movies fluff up 15 to 30 minutes. Honestly the executives jump the gun on the DCEU to play catch up in the movies it hurts the writing, like Batman vs Superman felt really rushed and not well planned out with awkward plot twist device of Both moms' names being "Martha". Oh, and Doomsday, they could have sat on that for Justice League. Instead we given Steppenwolf, a tease of Darkseid's precences. It just makes me worry how they will present Darkseid.

This is a very bad list, most of those while not being comic accurate were merely adaptations. Adaptations aren’t necessarily a bad thing like your narration implies. Some MCU characters are adaptations and changed their comic counterparts for better. Honestly, may the best version prevail.

For me Doomsday should be on the list. I hate that he's the love child of zod an lex.

Next the DCU will cast superman as an asian guy, batman as a black guy, wonderwoman as a hindi guy as well.

Some of these versions of the character actually exist in comics, just not to mainstream ones. Do some research
