Hey Jeff! Yes it would. Of course this should only be looked at as a writing exercise to loosen up your songwriting muse. Not a method for writing and publishing an original work. I’d strongly advise against that :)

This was seriously so helpful. It got me writing more than the last couple weeks of fumbling trying to find out where to start. Breaking things down and operationalizing is something I struggle with but taking it a step at a time makes it manageable.

Erm, number 10.. I came up with something interesting, think Rockstar - Nickleback: I'm through with standing on this train with my rubix cube Tryin to get to the doors but never get through I've got letters that I'll never be able to read I'm on the phone to the railway station Complain 'bout the tickets that I bought in this nation I might as well burn them up with the matches I got on me I need my polaroid camera to take some pictures They'll provide proof to all those naggin bitches Why I'm not come dressed appropriately (three minutes up here) I'm gonna pull that lever An stop this train I'll even comb my hair A say you name 'Cause we all just wanna wear a big bow tie I see you shaking you head but I know why You just so jealous That your not nearly as nerdy as me

Exactly what I was looking for & super helpful.

I'm on my third day of doing this, and every time I see "Basket Case" I smile, because when I was in middle school (the 90's), I wrote an entire lyric sheet - verses, choruses, and everything - to the melodies of that song. I think it was called "Stoned Bums," and it was supposed to be the theme song of a band I wanted to make called The Stoned Bums. There were going to be three of us, like Beastie Boys, and we were all going to bleach our hair blonde. I wish I still had those lyrics - probably good for a laugh!

Try different pictures if it helps of course! :)

Ms. Emma. I have a question again but this time it's about what I've did at the "Ghost Writer" last month it's because. when I've done 1 of that lyric writing exercises last July.... I've used 1 of my favorite country songs "These Days" by my idol country band "Rascal Flatts" and the thing is when I was on those lines.... I've really changed the lyrics of that song into the reasons why I dedicate that song to my friend (and also my 1st Love) who've dumped or rejected me So. is it really alright to do that thing?.... 'cause for me it's really embarrassing?

I started to write lyrics 4weaks ago. And made my owns songs but still I suck at rhyming words , 😭😭😭still that mind mapping technique is effective
