10 CRAZY Clocks You Won't Believe EXIST!

Ғылым және технология

Purely by chance I stumbled onto this video and the astro-skeleton clock is number four. Not bad! I have no idea how this occurred and I wonder where else this is displayed. I have seen it on Pinterest and on Google images under skeleton clock. Pretty neat.

    For anyone who loves the Chronomeans, a plastic ball clock with steel balls was made in the seventies and eighties, and vintage ones are relatively easy-to-find. They're a bit finicky to get working exactly right and are a bit noisy, but are fun to watch. The Astro Skeleton is nearly complete. Its enormous photo-heavy construction history is viewable online. Entirely built by one clockmaker.

    Anyone in the USA who really wants to see the exact same fluid clock that was shown in Germany without traveling across the ocean can stop at the Childrens Museum here in Indianapolis Indiana. We have the exact replica. And something not mentioned about its best feature, If you're lucky or patient enough to catch a glimpse of it at the start of each hour, you'll be treated to the sight of it completely emptying all the minute fluid markers and starting over. Even betyer than that is watching the enormous thing completely empty out hour and minute markers if you happen to catch it at 12. It's definitely a cool thing to see at least once. For another amazing clock located not even 10 Un away still located in downtown Indianapolis is the state Building pendulum clock. This enormous bulb pendulum hangs from the ceiling of the state house and is kept moving by the natural rotation of the earth. It traces a path so that it knocks over a minute block every minute and of course an hour marker every hour. At twelve, they are all stood back up. This clock is a sight to see for sure. However, as a child on numerous field trips there, standing over the railing and looking down at it just wating on it to knock down one of those little pegs seemed to take an eternity. 🤣😅 Come by and take a look for yourself! I promise Indianapolis isn't half as bad as everyone has told you it is. But bring your stun gun...ya know...just in case. Kidding...just kidding. 😅🤣😉😉

    There is another interesting clock in Berlin called the Mengenlehreuhr, or Set Theory Clock located at Budapester Straße in front of Europa-Center,. The Mengenlehreuhr consists of 24 lights which are divided into one circular blinking yellow light on top to denote the seconds, two top rows of four lights each denoting the hours and two bottom rows, one of eleven lights and the bottom row of four lights denoting the minutes.

    The Grasshopper clock: there are at least two such clocks on the Isle of Man. One features a fly (time flies?) on the top and it is presently installed in a display window of a restaurant in the centre of Douglas, the capital of the island. The inventor - John Taylor OBE - calls it a Chronophage. The other is in the entrance hall of Mr Taylor's home. In that case the walking creature on the top is a dragon. I have seen photos of the dragon clock and I think it is hideously ugly but there's no doubt it's a very accomplished and elaborate piece of work.

  • @MarkFrankclocks

    @MarkFrankclocks

    3 жыл бұрын

    I have seen the first Chronophage and have met the inventor. He is a brilliant man who made a fortune as an inventor. But I do agree the clock is rather creepy. He was trying to sell these, but I think he was asking for something in the range of $200,000. I don't think he has had any takers. It's not even really a mechanical clock as the "time" it tells is not controlled by the pendulum or the grasshopper, but by a motor.
