If I remember correctly, and I could be wrong, it was more of an area or land dictated to be Prussia in which local Germanic tribes lived. I believe that they never unified as a definite country until it to von Bismarck and the creation of Germany. I could be wrong. I'd have to do more research...

If you look at a pre ww2 map you will see east Prussia on it. It was disssvoled after ww2 sadly becoming part of the ussr. This was after in ww1 the royal family left to America and gave up their throne.

Prussia ceased to exist as an completely sovereign nation in 1871, when Prussia/North German Confederation unified the German states into a empire with kingdoms inside of it, one of which being the Kingdom of Prussia. After the two World Wars, the Allied Powers agreed that due to Prussia being mainly in Poland and because of the reminder of what had happened, Prussia was destroyed once and for all.

+not harabefan i would be fine with a minor mistake, but there was so many things wrong with the map. Finland was never owned by the USSR, with some of the eastern borders i can assume that this was post WW2 USSR. Which owned lithuania, and lithuania never owned latvia. They forgot azerbajan's exclave. I don't even have a remote idea as to why the map shows the USSR owning the suez canal. The USSR only had romania as a satellite state, not a direct part of the union, the same applies for bulgaria. Albania was only partly under soviet influence, same with yugoslavia, which was shown as part of the USSR, with serbia and montenegro's borders, which only got said borders after the breakup the USSR. Greece and Turkey were sided with the USA in the cold war and were never part of the USSR. They also forgot to include poland east germany and hungary as satellite states of the USSR. So somone doesn't even have to be "that guy" to figure out that there is some series border fuckups on the map.

After Josip broz tito died things went out of hand and now with no leader who is going to lead? So the different countries decided to have a their own council. Each of the countries in Yugoslavia chose a person to represent the country and together they chose one to be the "leader leader" and sinse there were so many different people it didn't go so well. Many countries decided to go independent diplomatically like Macedonia and Slovenia with basically no conflict. However Bosnia was In a pickle. THE Bosnians really wanted to go independent but there were some issues. Between the former Yugoslavia countries Bosnia was the most diverse in who lived there. It was plenty of Bosnians (40% ish) Serbs (25% ish) And Croats (25% ish) and 10% other people lived there. Neither Croatia or Serbia wanted Bosnia independent so Serbia decided it was war. War raged on and peice was signed with some unfair stuff. Bosnia was basically split in half between Bosnia Herzegovina and the republic of Serbia. There may be some information I'm missing but I'm not going to re-ask my parents and grandparents about the war (I'm Bosnian) but you get a bit of why it happened

A lot of people don't know this but in 1972, the island of Ernst Thalmann Island (a 15 kilometre long island) was gifted to East Germany from Fidel Castro. Nothing has been done by Germany about this, so technically East Germany still exists just as that. It is disputed because it is an uninhabited island.

I absolutely don't know why but every time Matt talks about my home country (Belgium) it puts a smile on my face. It's like aww despite being a teenie tiny country people still know it. Also, yes our chocolate is delicious (you should really try Côte d'Or, Guylian, Leonidas or Neuhaus, those are the best!)

My bedroom use to be a country. Until I was driven out of my land by my parents.
