Agreed I’ve been on eBay buying up these ideas and I can’t say I’ve ever done that with other channels because they’re either way too low budget ideas or so astronomically expensive I can’t even think about it $10. 15. 25 even $50 That’s where my budget is and I love these ideas

Honestly, this has become my favorite edh youtube channel out there. Your deck techs are always really interesting, and I like that they aren't just cookie cutter of whatever everyone else is doing on edhrec. I also genuinely love your 10 cards you should be putting in your commander decks series because you actually helped me discover some of the most obscure magic cards I didn't even know existed and even throw ideas for how to use them in there. Seriously, I'm glad to see you're channel is growing so fast because this is arguably the best edh channel out there.

Am I the only one who is super proud when they already have one of these cards in a deck. Lol

I definitely feel pride when he suggest a unique card that I have or ordered before hand, like Mogg Infestation. Aetherflame and Mogg Infestation is so good, and Repercussion on top of that can really hurt a creature heavy deck.

This is my new go to channel to find interesting cards my play group mostly plays newer cards so it's fun seeing there reaction when I play an old card that works really well they never expect it.

My friend plays Magnetic Web in his Goad theme deck. Works very well, glad you bring up old school cards & properly explain them

Your voice is like half the reason I watch/listen to this. Great speaking voice and you must also be really good at recording and EQ

i'm a huge music guy and i have alot of practice editing and volume leveling my digital music collection (which is my most prized possession) and the skills do translate well.

I am totally loving this series. I've been theory crafting a lot of interesting decks, and so many of the cards I come across are on these lists and I love it!

This channel is like looking at and old players binder, you get to see so many cards!

This is such an awesome channel! This series has helped me find a whole bunch of cool cards I’ve never seen, being a fairly young Magic player, and you have a fresh take on a lot of commanders in your deck techs. Keep it up, and congrats on the channel growth :D

Thanks for the recommendation on Magnetic Web. It's going right into my gimmick Rampage deck as part of the lure package. I also love that it can also be used for politics. "I'll put a magnet counter on that creature so you can kill it without you using a card."

I love using old cards that no one knows they exist. Some of them may be relatively weak, but it feels way better to play with unique effects, rather than the same boring stuff.

I found Mogg Infestation is really good in a Purphoros token deck. Blow out all your tokens and double the tokens. Bonus, your commander doesn't die.

I personally love it in my Extus // Awaken the Blood Avatar deck. Its focused on making a bunch of tokens to recast Awaken as many times as I can, so being able to double token count can lead to some explosive turns.

There is also a lot of people that play on modo, where the paper price doesn't matter at all. Not caring about the price is not that bad tbh, obviously if you mention a 800 dollar card as underplayed then the price is probably the reason :D Anyways, keep up with the series, we all enjoy it! On mangara's tome: It can be used like gifts ungiven was used, find only one target while searching, then i'ts a precise tutor. Maybe use some artifact blinking/ goblin welder effects to reset it.

I've got a suggestion for Mangara's Tome. It would probably have to be some kind of combo deck, but you'd want ETB generators for both mana and card draw to maximize this. You could use something like Mana Echoes in Red or Carnival of Souls in Black, or something like Ashnod's Alter if you're okay with sacrificing things. Then you use something like Guardian Project that draws you a card whenever a creature ETB's. In a deck like this you'd likely have a bunch of cheap creatures to generate mana and draw cards so it's not impossible for this to straight up tutor you 5 cards. Yeah, I have no idea why no one uses Martyr's Bond, it's really good. Martyr's Cry sounds really cool. Maybe a deck where your tokens are white but most of your other stuff is another colour? I see Mercadia's Downfall and think, "oh man Goblins and Vampire's would love this!" You're already all over it. XD Mogg Infestation with all those tokens in Goblins is another good way to make use of Boggart Shenanigans. Mudslide's great to punish tapping commanders too, not even just attacking ones. Neat effect! :D Holy Crap! Necrologia is insane, I can't believe I've never seen that one before. Gotta get me some of those. This was my favorite video so far, lots of cool stuff to play with in this one! Keep it up. :D

Eyy lovely vid as always, congrats on the subs. For Mangara's tome I'd say try building a Kurkesh onakke ancient deck. He's sorta the way I initially found the card as mono red is a little lacking in terms of tutors, and I wanted to go for an artifact combo approach. Though in most decks if youre going for an unsafe tutor a Parralel Thoughts might be better.

To me I don't care about what the price is when I hear about cards I have never heard of before because I just like gathering more knowledge about the game. I feel like for some people perhaps it makes them feel bad when they learn of a high synergy card they "could" be using with an inflated price tag and then they have to realize and possibly accept they can't/will never play it depending. Idk just some ideas I've had, I really enjoy this channel so just keep doing what you're doing man.

Oh man, I didn't know about Maddening Imp. Thank you so much. Also, I've found out about Norritt a while ago and I got one for my deck because I thought it's very versatile and useful. I was shocked at how cheap he was considering how he's a rare card from Ice Age and can untap creatures. Norritt for the win.

good cards, always loved norritt. i tried building 60card deck around him years ago with stuff like Sirens Call, Word of Binding, Betrayal, and Seizures btw, Betrayal is a highly underrated commander card in my opinion! Especially in an Aboshan deck :)

I love that you think outside the box and showing so many cards I’ve never heard of! So many channels show the same cards over and over and it gets tiresome..... Here you really make the game exciting and flavorful!

Ive had a mangara's tome for years and just realize Im going to add it to my Muzzio deck Thanks!

I know this video is old, but Mangara’s Tome could be great with Zedruu. There is a chance that on your upkeep your getting all 5 cards into your hand, assuming opponent have 4 of your permanents (2 if you have Paradox Haze). Need 10 mana though to get them all, or hope you get lucky. If the win con is say Approach of the Second Sun, or you need a board wipe, or value like Smothering Tithe/Dockside Extortionist, you can search for them all and then draw them next turn or use something like Fact or Fiction to get them immediately. Only way to protect is would be like Heroic Intervention or the artifact that makes artifacts indestructible. The name eludes me. Riftsweeper gets card back from exile so if you have a blink effect you can get for free

Yea I honestly felt the same way about expensive cards, alot of youtubers take that stance so it's nice to get another pov

Look at Mangara's Tome to place 5 lands in it. It helps filter out excess land, and if you need a land, there they are. There can be some nasty ways to get all those lands into play in one turn since the Tome does not tap.

I play Mogg infestation in my Krenko deck. It's amazing. You swing out and do as much damage as possible then convert all your dudes into more dudes that you sac to goblin bombardment. I also use it as a board wipe against opponents in a pinch

@@edhdeckbuilding your graphics are repetitive after a while, not enough variance, but their actual quality is really good.

#2, the tome may work for me in my The Prismatic Bridge Deck, but mainly as bait and to purge the cards I don't want to hit. And after they realize it's bait I'll use it to bring up good cards and they won't know. With that deck you usually have mana available after your board is set up, so paying to get those cards doesn't hurt as much.

I'll probably pick up a magnetic web for my horobi deck. I'm always looking for cards that can be used multiple times and target so it's a pretty nice fit. I would have probably never known about this card otherwise so thank you!!

i used to run a xantcha sleeper agent deck built around discard, i used neotic scales as a way for 1, make people draw off xantcha to burn whoever controls shes on, but also it bounces xantcha back to my hand often enough so i can change targets. quite fun tbh

Im surprised you didnt mention Mogg infestation in a purphoros deck. Its literally a “imma destroy my 5 creatures but not my commander cause he has indestructible and then im going to make 10 tokens and then deal 20 damage to each opponent” typa play. SUPER explosive and my favorite win-con in the deck

About Mangara's tome, I used it in my Jodah budget deck; and I tutor some lands (utilitaries or basics, in fonction of what the opponents have). So I can garantee a land drop per turn if I want to and if it get removed I know i have more chance to draw gas from my library

Mangara's tome... it can be used with brainstorm and so forth. You tutor then play brainstorm, take teh top three of those cards then return two cards to teh top of your deck.

Wow... when talking about mog infestation I am surprised you didn't bring up Purphuros. In a Purphuros deck that card literally reads "target yourself.... you win the game"

I like how mercadia's downfall reads attacking creatures, and not your attacking creatures. You can kill an opponent on someone elses attack step.

Magnetic Web seems really cool with Skullbriar, because he's gonna keep the magnetic counter whatever happens (if he's your commander) AND he has haste to kill quickly a creature that you've put a magnetic counter on it. I would say "Stop giving me ideas" but I that's really cool tho :D

My favorite thing to do with Mangara's Tome is pull five random cards from my deck, and just watch the looks on the other players' faces as I use it to play four Swamps and a Chatter of the Squirrel.

I come away from every video of yours with at least one card I'm baffled isn't a staple and even more baffled that I've never seen or heard of a lot of them.

Mogg infestation is a great card for my Dad’s Toralf deck ! You want them to have small creatures so you can strike them with all the fury. :)

The tome would fit great in an assembly deck like Kaldra, it could also do infinites but that's kinda boring maybe in a control deck because you always have answers it's just normally good because it gives you gas for 2 mana skipping lands. It could fit really well in a stitcher Geralf deck so you can keep certain cards safe

Mercadia’s downfall! I just picked some of those up last month. Can’t wait to use it. Norritt looks like a low-key tavern keeper in a big city who secretly runs a black market of highly illegal potions and weapons, and that art depicts the moment when you give him the password and he says “Right this way!” And he’s relishing in his role as secret merchant man

Mangara's Tome + emblem from Kaya the Inexorable - use the tome to get your 5 legendary cards, sacrifice the tome to exile the 5 cards, cast them with the emblem. Good to note that the current oracle text puts the cards directly into exile, so you don't actually have to get rid of the tome to cast them from exile.

necrologia is a nice one time necropotence and is just perfect with the no hand size limit cards fall of mercadia has so many aplications, finally trumpet blast in commander

I like using noetic scales in my etb gonti lord of luxury deck. It puts in the work

I have a noetic scales in my Nicol Bolas deck haha.. Thought about taking it out, but maybe not.

I have noetic scales in my Arcades walls deck, very underrated

Najeela, the Blade Blossom is a red card that creates white tokens :)

You should do both. One expensive and one cheapish. That could be a way to make more videos for your channel

You should do a time spiral block review ,a video for each set to prepare us for the remaster, I personally love time spiral but know almost nothing

Mangara's Tome plus Sylvan Library works nice

Mangara's tome could be really good in landfall decks, you pick 5 lands to go below the tome and then you have a way to guarantee land drops for 5 turns whenever you need it.

i was thinking this, you can pull 5 lands out to thin your deck but always be able to rip a land if you really need one. And if someone blows it up, who cares it's just lands.

Mangara's Tome would be pretty great in Persistent Petitioner style decks. Also gets around Consecrated Sphinx style effects and Smothering Tithe.

I use Mercadia’s downfall in my Adeliz the Cinderwind wizard tribal deck as a mass combat pump spell when swinging in at opponents.
