This series is great because, yes, it is suggestions for cards to put in commander decks. The main reason I like it though, is to discover fun new cards!

I love Tortured Existence. It's fantastic on Syr Konrad.

unfortunately, alot of people out there "play the market" with magic cards. so they'll buy up a bunch when the price is low. so sometimes you'll get huge spikes when it isn't game related at all.

The reason Tombstone Stairwell might not still be on the battlefield is if you don't pay the Cumulative Upkeep it would be sacrificed and the triggered ability would fizzle.

I thought that too, but surely you just stack the triggers so you sacrifice after the benefit?

I always feel proud when I've seen a card I've sniffed out of scryfall on these lists

Thanks Demo. Love these vids. Even though I have a LOT of old cards you somehow still seem to come up with cards I don't have/remember. Ironically I played Titania's song on Friday. Its part of my Yarsharn Enchantress stax deck. Absolutely hosed one of the decks that had ramped HARD with mana rocks.

I have a Tower of the Magistrate in my Shu Yun. Because I happen to have a foil one. Aside from equipments, it's also nice with Dismiss into Dream! Nice vid again!

"Together Forever" looks like a good addition for Marath. It's essentially two mana to return to hand any of your creatures that die. If Marath has deathtouch you can kill your own creatures to get them back in your hand and recast them.

That tower is pretty sweet. And using tombstone stairwell with that commander that makes a token for each token YOU created this turn seems like a match made in... well, a stairwell.

I love these vids, I even found a home for a card you mentioned in a previous vid.

Tranquil grove is probably the strongest card I’ve never seen that you have shown me and wow, that is so crazy the best enchantment hate I’ve ever seen

Tombstone stairwell has the “if this is on the battlefield” clause because there are two separate triggers that go on the stack in the order of 1) make tokens 2) pay upkeep. So when they come off the stack you have to pay the upkeep first. Without that wording, you could refuse to pay the upkeep cost but still get the tokens, then with the stairwell gone keep your tokens for good.

Good selection of underappreciated cards

Titania's song has put in major work for me in the past, I love how it shuts down treasure. Tower of the magistrate is in many of my EDH decks, once an opponent had a stuffy doll with my name on it, he was attacked politically with an absurdly large creature in order to damage me, it didn't work too well for them.

tombstone stairwell is straight gas, I've been killed while being ahead in one round a few times. interesting note the cumulative cost doesn't trigger at the beggining of upkeep.

Just wanted to say: I reeeally dig your series here. Many cards that fly under my radar, are fun, flavorful and/or aren't oppressive. I am a kinda guy who plays to play and not to choke out my friends with a turn 5 infinite combo, so this series gave me many new ideas/upgrades. Big thanks for that!

Fun List. Tortured Existence is really fun in a Cleric Deck with Gangrenous Goliath.

Thran Turbine goes great with Gemstone Array as well. It has 2: put a charge counter on it, and remove a charge counter, add one mana of any color. All for 4 mana.

Tortured Existence is awesome. I remember Thran Turbine from my childhood and just got really excited about it for Osgir before I realized it gives mana on your upkeep and Osgir only activates as a sorcery.

Tower of the magistrate is definitely going into my Osgir modular deck. That is powerful. No equiping for you sir haha

I love Tortured Existence in my Kathril, Aspect Warper deck. It is perfect for putting expensive creatures with keywords in the graveyard while getting utility creatures back to your hand!

Total war is great for Boros, but also in Burn if you have Smoke and Mudslide to protect yourself. I'm definitely grabbing a copy to stave off creature attacks.

Tradewind Rider is a personal favorite of mine as well.

Tradewind Rider seems good in Kykar decks. Tap your weak spirits to tap the opp's key cards then sac the newly-tapped spirits for red mana.

I wanna suggest for an episode Rewards of Diversity. 2W enchantment "whenever a player casts a multicolored spell gain 4 life" which is going to happen often and I've been very into putting some lifegain in every deck lately

Played tombstone stairwell this weekend in my sidisi brood tyrant build and it was insane I wiped 3 people of the board with battle and altair of dementia

Thought, on tombstone stairwell… they may have “as long as it’s on the battlefield” on there because it was printed in mirage; the set where phasing was introduced.

The best Teferi's Protection hoser is Sands of Time, they just don't phase back in. I am brewing a deck with Equipoise and SoT with others to hose opponents and basically out tempo them. Time and Tide seems like it could be a viable option for the deck's shenanigans. Thanks!

I’ve always loved Tombstone Stairwell. As a side note, I wonder who the hell “Dom!” Is and where he is now. Getting a signed tombstone stairwell sounds sick

That land would have helped me in my last game. My opponent had kalia the vast and was equipping lightning greaves to it.

Currently brewing a Ramirez and Tormod EDH. No Tortured Existence, but I did find an Undertaker. I'm currently looking for a Desecrated Tomb in my collection.

Than turbine would go great with lots of this filter land decks just you know play it down turn one off a basic land. Play a filter land and play a 3 drop anything that hopefully has a pay 1 to activate ability to really look like you're popping off. Definitely something to trinket mage if you have the right deck. I'd love to check it out once I finish my current cycle.

Brass Squire is totally under-rated imo, the swords fall off card reminded me of it. Being able to equip in response is very handy. Auriok windwalker does the same but in white.

I just want to mention that there is a U version of Titania's Song called March of the Machines.

Titania's Song does wonders against blood, treasure, food, and clue tokens.

Tower of the Magistrate also great in a Vela deck. It basically makes your creature unblockable when she’s on the field

I use Titania's Song in my Kenrith deck. It's a really cool card!

The Tombstone Stairwell is worded like that so if it's removed while the trigger on the stack it will fail because it will check if it's in play when it resolves. This prevents you from getting tombspawn without the stairway in play.

Total War definitely has potential if you play it with something like Dueling Grounds in a deck that just doesn't have very many creatures.

Braid of Fire is also a pretty sweet card in the vein of Thran Turbine. I tried to make it work in standard with Helix Pinnacle. It did not work. I just have a thing for cards that say "win the game" or "lose the game" on them.

question, for thran turbine if you have a Kruphix, God of Horizons deck, when the mana would empty but becomes colerless instead can you use it to cast spells?

Thran turbine is an auto-include in an Osgir, the Reconstructor deck.

Tombstone Stairwell and Altar of Dementia made me a lot of enemies back in the day. Step 1: Mill self 20-40 cards on first trigger (as needed). Step 2: Rolling deck mills on each players upkeep.

Thran turbine is sweet! Especially with Paradox haze.

Tombstone stairwell is a massacre in an Ayara or Syr Konrad deck. It will drain your opponents extremely fast with your commander out

Titania is also powerful anti-treasure (clues and food too but less relevant) tech; dockside? Nice red bear there. Tireless tracker? Landfall -- make a dies trigger. Replicated rings, replicated no longer.

l love tranquil grove! There is so many strong enchantments in my meta that this card is never a bad draw in my decks.

I play tortured existence in my Haakon deck. I go Tortured existence, Syr Konrad, Phyresis or grafted exoskeleton. Then with a creature in my hand and one is my grave I use tortured existence 5 times and win.

Even with mana burn Thran Dynamo has no drawback. It's a may ability, and you add up to two (0-2). This is relevant if someone is playing the Viashino commander that brings back mana burn.

Titania's Song looks spicy as a Null Rod effect

I use Tower in my Horobi death's wail, one colorless kill spell on a land.

What do you think of Karoo and its counter parts for mono color decks? Ive been running them for awhile and they have been useful but they're not as good as duals for obvious reasons.

Crypt incursion can gain you tons of life

im gonna be honest i feel pretty stupid i got a thran turbine for my eldrazi deck wasn't doing much but today I just built a Kennrith the Return king Activated ability tribal deck i just realized that's where it can shine since I can do one ability right off the bat on every upkeep.

How did you go through Tombstone Stairwell and Tortured Existence back to back without mentioning Syr Konrad!? They're both haymakers in that deck

Another card I played with Capsize to bounce my opponents permanents.

They should bring manaburn back, but as a keyword mechanic that certain cards inflict on players as a drawback.

i'll be making a non-green ramp video, so stay tuned for that. but maybe carnival of souls might work for a vampire deck.

Actually the Legends Rule was first legendary on the board stays. Later they changed it several times until eventually doing away with the entire legendary rule and now you get to choose which one you'd like to keep. It ruined my 2nd EDH deck and was very frustrating. Also a bad change for the Commander format because it's not as fun anymore.
