    @@latuba2478 if you want heavy bokeh then having a low f stop would be better but what I was trying to say was that usually you want the whole car in focus but you want to background out of focus in the image. the best way to achieve that is to have something like f4 as that will most likely keep the whole car in focus while keeping the background out of focus. hope that clarifies what I meant! thanks for watching!

    Depends on your budget but if you can spend money in the mid - range, check out the Sony a6400 for pretty solid low light performance. Grab the sigma 16mm 1.4 for it as well and you will be golden. If you can also buy some sort of portable light set up, that will help a ton. Good luck!

    I agree with most of the tips you had. The one slight difference is on the circular polarizer. My opinion on this is, buy the best one you can afford (I.e. B&W, Heliopan, even Hoya are just a few) that is multi coated. There is nothing worse than getting that one awesome shot, only to see that the weak link (the filter) screwed up the entire look of the shot. It does happen too often. That 85mm F1.2 lens is only as good as the piece of glass you screwed on it.

    Hey Justin! I'm not really a beginner, but I still struggle with CPL filters..How do you deal with the patterns in the car's back windows? And also the CPLs doesn't filter out all of the reflections, and sometimes it just ends up looking weird. Thanks in advance!

  • @POVjustin

    @POVjustin

    3 жыл бұрын

    I’m not sure exactly what you mean by the pattern on the back window sorry! And yea unfortunately CPL filters don’t get rid of allll the reflections but it does a good job of getting rid of most. Don’t forget to take note of what time you are taking photos as well as that can cause more reflections. Ex. 12pm on a sunny day would cause many more reflections than it would at 9pm for example. I’ll be making a new video and talk more about the filters so make sure stick around for that haha hopefully that helped!

  • @KLM_ZA

    @KLM_ZA

    The polarising effect of your filter is at its greatest when you shoot at a 90-degree angle to the sun, so it is perfect to use for compositions with side-lighting. When the sun is behind you at 180-degrees, the polarising effect will be non-existent. Between these two points, the amount of polarisation will vary.

  • @peterdenes6353

    @peterdenes6353

    8 ай бұрын

    @@KLM_ZA Thank you, that's understandable. However, I might have phrased my question wrong, but my main concern is the patterns. If there is a gridlike pattern on the glass when using a polarizer (kinda like the rainbow effect when looking at a plastic ruler through a polarizer), what is the best course of action? Is retouching always necessary, or is it ok to leave as is? Just curious about your opinion.

    It really depends on how private you would like to be or your client. Here’s my little input on finding cars. Go on eBay, Craigslist, Facebook marketplace and so on, just anywhere where people are selling cars. Ask the owner if they’d like free high resolution photos that they can use to sell their car. Be polite about it. I used it to find supercar owners in my area and had a few say yes to the photos.

  • @POVjustin

    @POVjustin

    I think any camera to start with is fine. Pretty much anything that has come out within the last 5 years will get you started. I would start with figuring out what your budget is, and from there begin looking. Although getting a brand new camera is fun, the used market is full of good deals and I often buy used because you can get a great “discount” compared to buying brand new. Hope that helped!

    Bro I'm thinking to start photography and want to buy my first camera after my admission in university, which one should I get? Canon m200 Sony a6000 or nikkon d6500 or any other camera I may note that I belong from a middleclass family 💔

  • @POVjustin

    @POVjustin

    3 жыл бұрын

    I currently use a sony so it might be a bit biased but I would go with the a6000. I think it is one of the best bang for buck cameras you can get. that being said, I would immediately buy a second lens like the 30mm 1.4 as the kit lens isnt great. the only problem i find with sony is that later on the lenses can get quite expensive so if you are on a budget it might not be the best option for you. the canon m200 is also a good option if you don't mind not having a viewfinder. The m200 is a fairly recent camera as well so you will be getting new and updated technology. the lenses are also more on the cheap side for canon so that is a bonus. nikon is nice as well but I wouldnt recommend the d5600. if you are planning to take photos and make youtube videos, canon m200. if its just photos, sony a6000 or the nikon d5600. although i would recommend going for the d7200 over the 5600. Hope that helped!

    I would say get a used a6000 and used lenses, or a used canon t5i and a 50mm 1.8 👌🏽 all the photos taken of this corvette were done on a canon t7i and 50mm 1.8 which is somewhat budget. The 50mm is about 150 dollars brand new so after buying that I would go for a used camera body. Hope that helped!

    @@user-yi4jy2jf1q really depends on what kind of interior shots you are looking for. I used my 50mm for a few interior shots but I was shooting from the outside of the car looking in. if you are looking to take photos of the inside, from the inside, you will probably have to get a wider lens. even an 18-55 isn't too bad. you can check out my IG and see the interior shot I got with the 50mm. Hope that helps!

    You didn't show us you shooting the car onsite? I was waiting for this the whole vid. I think this comes down to planning, i just did a lotus exige shoot on my channel " waynos fotos LOTUS CARs". I planned the gear i needed, three cameras and talked about the location and my camera settings using a 360 camera mounted on my main camera. This is far more informative to people than doing a talking head vid that shows them nothing. People want to see what you do and then the result. I wanted to see how you put these techniques in action bit you didn't show this??

    I definitely agree! I enjoy watching videos filmed in that style as well! Unfortunately it was a very last minute shoot (in terms of getting the car at a specific time) and I was not able to get the footage for that type of video :/ I did try to include some footage from the shoot as I included some quick iPhone video I got someone to record for me during the shoot, but I definitely want to create a video like that in the future! Although I do find those videos to be informative, I also find talking head videos informative as well so I thought I would share my experience as best I could with the little footage I had to try to help people as best I could. So far I’ve had a few people reach out to me and tell me that this video helped them in some way! I will check out your video as well as I am interested in what your video looks like! I unfortunately only have one camera that can do video so I cant currently do the POV style that I would love to do, but hopefully I can save for it in the future! Thank you for the constructive criticism! 🙏🏽❤️

    @@POVjustin yep you need multiple cameras, for sure to do these. I do know the guy you mentioned from oz north something he is a bit 9f a character, i have watched him. But he does use a friend to help him shoot sometimes which makes it easier, and it needs to be someone who knows what they are doing. I do it all by myself so you absolutely need multiple cameras and it takes longer to capture all the footage, but comes out okay. I do our club lotus runs as well, so my vids focus solely on Lotus cars.
