What are your thoughts on the Rebel (T3) with a high-quality lense for beginners? That cannot afford the newer Sony A series or Canon EOS R series cameras.

Canon has the market on lock when it comes to budget cameras so the t3 is a great option. I’d also consider going with a more upmarket used camera as well

Even the $2-3k canons do have have some weird crop things/frame rate/resolution limitations with video so that’s also something to keep in mind as well when making a purchase

Disney theme parks do what you refer to in the exploitation of visual psychology piece. They fade the paint and use forced perspective to make the castles appear much larger than they are.

What's funny is how many things they teach in here that require equipment that's way out of range for most people trying to get into automotive photography.... Like what's the point of teaching things to photographers who would probably be at the same level if they have that equipment?

You need: a camera, lens, tripod, rental car, scrim, two employees and a desert. Don't forget a new camera and lens because you will NEVER get it clean after that sandstorm. This clown would hurl feces in front of the camera shooting chimps at the zoo.

All well and good, if your focus is art, and not commercial impact for manufacturers. Car companies such as Porsche have very strict guidelines with regard to useable images and how those images impact their brand. Much of what you show here would never sell to any of the top car makers. For example, they would not be interested in kangaroos detracting from their product in a commercial photo. If you’re working to sell product, or to be noticed by the car companies themselves for possible work, be aware of the maker’s perspective and wants, and put those before your perspective and wants. However, if it’s just for you, fire away!

Thats not the only reason for car photography. Brands need to market their cars and the dealerships sometimes need photos of a car in a local environment. Sometimes people want to sell a 130k car and have photos shot on an iphone with the car standning in the narrowest shed you can imagine - I wouldnt buy a car with photos like these. Then there are the car enthusiasts that built the car of their dreams and like to have photos of that achievement. And last but not least race teams need photos for their sponsors so they see that the car is a good marketing investment.
