Waffles are not a breakfast item. Most people here in Germany will eat them during the afternoon. Birchermüsli is also not too common in Germany since yes we all know what it is, but it originated in Switzerland and is mostly eaten there and not in Germany. If people go for müsli than mostly the versions you buy in grocery stores that look like what American's better know as granola. Also cornflakes are more popular than Müsli. Depending on where you are most people also do not eat pancakes for breakfast, but more for lunch though. Also apple sauce is not that common for pancakes, most people actually preffer jam.
