The thing I really wanted to see was the Voyager crew's homecoming. I wanted to see them meet with their families again. See the pomp and ceremony Starfleet would have pitched for the feel good story they needed after the Dominion War.

There’s an interesting book called Kahless. It has a Klingon scribe found an ancient text purportedly written by Kahless himself after his disappearance. In it he chronicles the real events that became enshrined in myth. He was a loyal lieutenant of the tyrant Molor until he was forced to kill Molor’s son in a duel, forcing him to go on a run along with a number of loyal men, including Morath who became his best friend and who kept trying to teach Kahless to be an honorable man. Kahless met Lukara in a village and fell for her. But he was forced to leave her behind. Unfortunately, Molor’s troops would find the village and raze it, killing everyone, including Lukara. Eventually, Kahless raised an army and led it against Molor. In the palace, he found a once powerful man weak from disease. He felt pity and let his guard down. Molor threw a dagger at him. Morath jumped in front and took the blade in his chest. Kahless decapitated the tyrant and held his friend as he died. Eventually, he grew bored with ruling and left. Before leaving, he pointed at a random star in the sky and told them to look for him there. Here’s the twist: the blood on the dagger used to create the clone isn’t Kahless’s. It’s Morath’s!

Definitely think the Romulan War should have been #1. You mentioned the treaty ending subsequent hostilities, but not the war itself!

just curious: why refer to NCC-1701 as "original Enterprise?" the 'in-universe' timeline says NX-01 was the 1st Starfleet ship w/ the name.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: To do something truly new for Star Trek, I'd love to see a West Wing-esque political drama set in the Star Trek universe with Scott Bakula as Federation President. Flashbacks can fill in the founding and away we go.

That does sound interesting. I've always been sorry we didn't get to see Enterprise's original planned first season set on Earth. I'm also curious about the period right after the Vulcans made themselves known. How would humans really have reacted? How did their technology change our society and what was that process list to live through?🤔

I thought the Vulcan/Romulan split was about 5000 years before the original series occurred. I seem to remember that being mentioned in either the Amok Time episode or the one where Sarek was recreated on the lava world

What I wanted was a little more post-script of events between Cochrane's first warp flight and events of Archer/"Enterprise"... Like, the first time a Earth ship went to a foreign inhabited planet & saw alien culture. Or- SHOWING how the effects of 1st contact affected societal changes towards utopia on earth: -ending of wars, religion, poverty/money, famine, endless energy....
